One Piece Chapter 23, page 9-10: Captain Usopp Enters

Tamanegi insists that his warning is real. "IT'S TRUE! I JUST SAW IT! THE SHIP HAS A SKULL FLAG, AND HAS COME DOWN TO THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE SHORE!" Usopp and the other two boys are skeptical, with Usopp shouting, "YOU'RE LYING!" but Tamanegi and the others cry, "IT'S TRUE!" Tamanegi adds, "AND THE SYMBOL ON THE FLAG IS OF BUGGY'S PIRATE FLEET!" (though the flag actually belongs to the Straw Hats). Usopp is shocked: "WHAT DID YOU SAY?" Tamanegi panics, "IT'S TRUE! WE'RE DEAD!" Terrified, Usopp suddenly turns to run, shouting, "ALAS! TIME FOR SNACKS!" The kids grab him, yelling, "DON'T RUN AWAY!" Usopp tries to make an excuse: "ACTUALLY, I HAVE THIS DESEASE THAT WILL KILL ME IF I DON'T EAT SNACKS..." but the kids yell back, "YOU'RE LYING!

The kids confront Usopp about his cowardice. "CAPTAIN, AREN'T YOU ALWAYS SAYING YOU WANT TO BE A REAL PIRATE!? HOW CAN A PIRATE BE AFRAID OF OTHER PIRATES!?" Tamanegi chimes in, "THAT'S RIGHT! AND THERE ARE ONLY THREE OF THEM..." Piiman is surprised: "WHAT? THREE...?" Ninjin asks, "ISN'T IT A BIG SHIP?" Tamanegi clarifies, "IT'S JUST TWO SMALL BOATS!" Hearing this, Usopp immediately regains his confidence, striking a heroic pose and shouting, "OKAY! USOPP'S PIRATE, LET'S MOVE! LET'S FIGHT FOR THE VILLAGE AND PEACE!" The kids cheer, "YES CAPTAIN!! YES!!" and follow him as he runs off, shouting, "LET'S GO! FOLLOW ME!" though they quickly stop and watch him run ahead with sweatdrops of disbelief.
