Morgan mentions he heard a "little mouse" snuck into the parade ground. Helmeppo admits he "dealt" with her, and Morgan assumes she was killed. Rokkaku bravely refuses to obey such a cruel order. Morgan menacingly reminds him of their ranks, asking, "And I-- a Captain-- am your superior officer, am I not?

Morgan demands obedience, but Lieutenant Rokkaku firmly refuses to murder a little girl. Labeling it mutiny, Morgan instantly slashes Rokkaku down with his axe-hand. The surrounding Marines and Helmeppo gasp in absolute horror. Helmeppo screams that his father didn't have to kill him, but Morgan dismisses it, saying the townsfolk must be taught respect and that he will handle it personally.

Morgan boasts about how he labored to achieve his rank through his own strength, declaring that rank means everything and therefore everything he does is right. The terrified Marines quickly agree, shouting praises. Morgan then orders them to raise his giant statue to the highest point of the fortress as a monument to his power and greatness.
