One Piece Chapter 1.2, page 3-5: Romance Dawn (Version 2)

A shadow suddenly looms over Luffy's tiny vessel. He looks up in absolute shock, sweating as a colossal, multi-decked pirate ship with dark sails and a horned figurehead pulls up right alongside him. Luffy gapes in disbelief: 'WHAT THE HECK? WHEN DID THIS...!?

Realizing the danger, Luffy urges the giant bird to escape: 'BALLOON! RUN AWAY!!! FLY FAR AWAY!! HURRY!!!' But the bird is too weak and injured to fly, flapping its wings uselessly as Luffy complains, 'THAT'S NOT HAPPENING!! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT, ANYWAY.' A rope ladder is thrown down from the pirate ship's deck. A dark, silhouetted figure standing at the railing calls down to him: 'STRAWHAT YOUNG'UN!! CARRY THAT BIRD ONTO THE DECK, PLEASE.

On the deck of the pirate ship, a young woman named Anne, wearing a striped shirt and a dark skirt, angrily confronts Luffy. A text box introduces her: 'NAME: ANNE'. She yells, 'HOW DARE YOU? WHY'D YOU BRING BALLOON!?' Luffy, sitting casually on the deck, blinks: 'BAL-LOON?' Anne continues to fume, pointing accusingly: 'HE GOT CAUGHT BY THEM BECAUSE OF YOU!! YOU WERE HOLDING HIM DOWN RIGHT!? I WAS WATCHING!!' Luffy points to the caged bird behind them: 'BALLOON? OH, THAT PANDA?' Anne snaps back, 'HE'S NOT A PANDA!!' Luffy calmly replies, 'HE WAS HURT.
