One Piece Chapter 36, page 19-21: HUNTED!!

Luffy's punch misses as Kuro suddenly vanishes from sight. Luffy looks around in confusion, gasping, "HE DISAPPEARED?!" With a faint metallic sound (SFX: CHARI...), Kuro suddenly reappears right beside Luffy, swinging his long claw-blades. Luffy barely reacts in time, shouting "UWOAH!!!" as he bends his body backward to narrowly dodge the deadly slash that cuts through the air.

While bent backward, Luffy quickly uses his rubber legs to wrap around Kuro's neck and shoulders, pinning him. Kuro gasps in shock. Luffy shouts, "GOMU GOMU..." and slams his feet directly into Kuro's face with a loud impact (SFX: PLAK). Luffy then unleashes his attack, "SPEAR!!!!", driving Kuro face-first into the ground with immense force, kicking up a massive cloud of dust.

As the dust clears, Luffy realizes Kuro has vanished again, muttering, "DAMN... DISAPPEARED AGAIN." Kuro stands a short distance away on the slope, completely unharmed. He looks back at Luffy and says, "NEVERMIND! THEY ALREADY GOT UP THE SLOPE...! BEFORE WE FIGHT, I WANT TO ASK YOU ONE QUESTION... YOU'RE A STRANGER HERE, WHY ARE YOU GETTING SO INVOLVED WITH THIS VILLAGE?!" The remaining Black Cat Pirates watch in awe, whispering, "TH... THAT KID. HE ACTUALLY DARES TO CHALLENGE CAPTAIN KURO...!!
