One Piece Chapter 1.1, page 23-25: Romance Dawn (Version 1)

Shiruku screams at the charging pirates, "YOU COWARDS! ATTACKING AN UNARMED OPPONENT!!". Luffy calmly puts a hand on her shoulder, saying, "IT'S FINE, I DON'T USE A WEAPON. STAND BACK FOR A SEC.". Shiruku blinks in confusion, "EH". As the two pirates swing their swords at him, Luffy agilely leaps and dodges their slashes. He flips through the air, landing gracefully on his feet. He looks back at them and says, "YOU GUYS STARTED THIS."

Luffy winds up his arm and throws a powerful punch. His arm incredibly stretches like rubber across the street, striking both pirates simultaneously with a massive impact. The pirates are sent flying backward, screaming, "BUBEH!!!". Shiruku watches in absolute shock, her eyes wide and her mouth agape, uttering, "!!!?" as Luffy's stretched arm snaps back to its normal length.

Luffy grins and pulls his arm back, saying, "THEY'RE DOWN, HUH?". Shiruku is completely stunned, stammering, "WHA... WHAT JUST...!! HIS ARM... STRETCHED.". Luffy turns to her and asks, "SURPRISED? I TOLD YOU I ATE THE GOMU GOMU FRUIT, RIGHT? BECAUSE OF THAT, I...". Gyari is furious, his face turning red as he screams, "YOU REALLY PISS ME OFF!!! AHHH!!! WHERE ARE YOU AIMING!!! WHERE!? AT YOU OF COURSE, IDIOT!!!". He pulls out a pistol and shoots directly at Luffy, yelling, "JUST DIE ALREADY!!". The gun fires with a loud bang.
