One Piece Chapter 9, page 19-20: Chapter 9: Femme Fatale

Nami points a finger at Luffy, accusingly saying, "I get it... You're after some fantastic treasure and you keep the map in that hat of yours." Luffy protests, "I told you, there's no map in my hat!" Nami asks skeptically, "Then why is that raggedy old hat so precious to you, liar? Luffy takes off his straw hat and looks at it with a warm, nostalgic smile, explaining, "I treasure this hat because a friend gave it to me a long time ago. That's when I swore I'd gather a crew and become a pirate." Nami looks at him with a mixture of sadness and annoyance, muttering, "Hmph! Pirates, phooey!" Luffy puts his hat back on and sighs, "These are crazy times."

Nami suddenly stands up, her face contorted with intense anger as she shouts, "If there's one thing in this world I really hate......it's pirates!! But I love money! And tangerines! She turns her back to Luffy, thinking to herself, "This guy's a stupid, worthless plunderer... He doesn't seem to have anything worth stealing... but maybe he could still be of use to me..." Luffy, completely unfazed, asks again, "So how 'bout it? Wanna be my navigator?" Nami snaps back, "I told you to forget about it! You no-good pirate!!" However, a devious idea strikes her, and she smirks mischievously ("SMIRK") as a pirate flag appears in her thoughts.
