Alone in her room, Kaya hears a "KNOCK KNOCK..." at her window. She opens it to find Usopp sitting on a tree branch outside. He notices her sad expression and says, "USOPP-SAN... YOU HAD THAT DEPRESSED LOOK AGAIN." Kaya apologizes for not being able to treat him like a proper guest because Clahador won't allow it. Usopp smiles warmly, sitting on the branch, and says he feels comfortable outside because the somberness of the room would suffocate a brave warrior of the sea like him.

Kaya smiles brightly, asking which adventure Usopp will tell her today. Usopp begins his tale, claiming that when he was five, he fought a southern giant goldfish. He describes how he thought its massive feces was land and even docked his ship there. Kaya giggles, covering her mouth. Suddenly, Luffy's face pops up right next to Usopp with a dramatic "DO--N" (どーん), shouting, "WOW! HE'S A GREAT GUY!

Back at the shop, Nami and Zoro listen to the kids explain how Usopp has been visiting Kaya for a year to restore her spirits with his made-up tales. The kids praise their captain's "lies" and "cowardice," saying the lady is feeling much better thanks to him. Luffy, inspired by the story, suddenly stands up and shouts, "ALL RIGHT!! THEN WE SHALL GO TO THE MANSION AND ASK FOR A SHIP!!!" Nami is shocked, yelling, "NO!! DIDN'T YOU JUST SAY YOU'D GIVE IT UP?
