One Piece Chapter 1.2, page 2-3: Romance Dawn (Version 2)

Luffy hears a strange whistling sound from above, 'WHAT'S THAT SOUND?', just before a massive, bizarre-looking bird crashes violently into his small boat with a loud splash. Luffy is bewildered: 'A BIRD? WHAT A HUGE BIRD. IS IT AN OSTRICH? NO, MAYBE A PANDA?' The bird, which has panda-like markings around its eyes, cries out in pain, 'Gwaaah'. Luffy notices the impact has smashed a hole in the bottom of his boat, causing water to gush in: 'AH!! THE IMPACT JUST NOW MADE A HOLE ON THE BOAT!!' Desperate to keep from sinking, Luffy grabs the struggling bird and stuffs its rear end into the breach: 'HEY!! DON'T MOVE AROUND, OKAY...!? I'M PLUGGING THE HOLE WITH YOUR BUTT. IF THE BOAT SINKS, I'M SCREWED 'CAUSE I CAN'T SWIM.' He then notices the bird is bleeding: 'YOU'RE HURT. WHAT HAPPENED!?

A shadow suddenly looms over Luffy's tiny vessel. He looks up in absolute shock, sweating as a colossal, multi-decked pirate ship with dark sails and a horned figurehead pulls up right alongside him. Luffy gapes in disbelief: 'WHAT THE HECK? WHEN DID THIS...!?
