One Piece Chapter 42, page 10-14: Yosaku and Johnny

Luffy slams the intruder onto the deck, telling him not to wreck his ship. The defeated intruder groans on the floor while Luffy asks what he was shouting about.

Zoro steps out and recognizes the intruder as Johnny, his former bounty hunting associate. Johnny is shocked to see Zoro and tearfully explains that his partner, Yosaku, is in critical condition.

Johnny explains Yosaku's sudden, severe illness, noting his teeth are falling out and old wounds are reopening. He reveals they were resting on the rock reef that Luffy and Usopp just blew up. Realizing their mistake, Luffy and Usopp profusely apologize.

Johnny laments the tragic end of their bounty hunting duo. Nami quickly diagnoses the illness and orders Luffy and Usopp to squeeze lime juice from the kitchen immediately. Johnny is left confused by her command.

Luffy feeds the lime juice to Yosaku. Nami explains that Yosaku has scurvy, a common and historically deadly disease for sailors caused by a lack of fresh fruits and vegetables. Johnny is amazed by her knowledge, while Nami berates the crew for their ignorance.
