Luffy sits at Partys Bar, drinking juice. Makino asks: "Do you miss them, Luffy?" Luffy grumbles: "After the way those mountain bandits humiliated them?! Not at all! I really misjudged those guys! I thought they were brave and tough... but they're really just a bunch of wimps." Makino smiles gently: "Are you sure about that? Maybe sometimes it takes more courage not to fight." Luffy insists: "You just wouldn't understand, Makino. A real man has to stand up for himself, no matter what." Suddenly, the door is kicked open again: "Make way for the terror of the highlands!

Higuma and his bandits swagger back into the tavern. Higuma laughs: "No pirates today, eh? Smells better... We were in the area, so we stopped by." He slams his hand on the counter, demanding: "Serve us drinks!!!" Luffy and Makino stare at him with intense dislike.

Makino runs through the village and bursts into the mayor's house: "Mayor! We've got a problem! It's Luffy... and the mountain bandits!" Meanwhile, in the village square, Higuma has dragged Luffy outside. Higuma holds Luffy up, amused: "You've got a strange body, boy. Our punches and kicks aren't hurting you at all." The villagers watch from a distance, terrified: "Hey! We gotta go help Luffy!" "Are you crazy? Those mountain bandits would kill us! Besides, Luffy's the one that started the fight!
