Ripper notices Koby standing there and asks, "AREN'T YOU GOING WITH THEM?" Koby is startled, stammering, "HUH? I'M..." Luffy stops and looks back, saying, "I'M..." Koby thinks to himself, "WE'RE GOING OUR SEPARATE WAYS, BUT WE'LL ALWAYS BE FRIENDS!" and clenches his teeth, sweating profusely as he mutters, "I..." He suddenly yells, "I'M NOT ONE OF THEM!!!" Luffy smiles at him. Ripper looks closely at Koby and says, "EXCUSE ME, PIRATES?...!

Ripper asks, "IS THAT TRUE?" Luffy stands in the doorway and says, "LET ME EXPLAIN. I KNOW ALL ABOUT HIS PAST..." Koby gasps in terror, thinking, "LUFFY!? YOU'RE NOT GOING TO... GASP! IF THEY FIND OUT ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND, THEY WON'T LET YOU ENLIST... LUFFY, DON'T..." Luffy continues loudly, "SEE, THERE WAS THIS SECRET ISLAND... AND A BIG PIRATE WOMAN......HER NAME WAS ALVIDA...

Koby panics, screaming, "LUFFY!! DON'T!!" in his mind. Luffy continues talking to Ripper, "SHE WAS REALLY MEAN... AND FOR TWO YEARS, THIS GUY..." Koby snaps and punches Luffy right in the face with a massive "WHACK" sound effect, screaming, "SHUT UP!!!" Luffy is sent flying back.
