    Buggy orders Nami to prove her loyalty by firing the cannon to blow Luffy to pieces. Horrified, Nami tries to stall by suggesting they drink more instead.

    Buggy and his crew pressure Nami to light the fuse and blow Luffy apart. Nami hesitates, sweating profusely as she holds the burning match.

    Nami is caught in a moral dilemma, realizing she will be no better than a pirate if she kills Luffy in cold blood. Buggy loses patience and demands she light the cannon immediately.

    Luffy notices Nami's hands shaking and tells her that is what happens when someone goes up against pirates unprepared. Nami asks if being prepared means being ready to murder.

    Luffy explains that preparation means being ready to risk one's own life. When a Buggy pirate steps in to light the fuse himself, Nami suddenly strikes him down with her staff.

    With a powerful swing, Nami knocks out the pirate trying to light the cannon. Luffy and the surrounding Buggy Pirates look on in absolute shock.
