One Piece Chapter 12, page 4-5: Chapter 12: DOG

Roronoa Zoro, heavily bandaged and sweating profusely, drags the heavy iron cage containing Monkey D. Luffy through the streets. Zoro pants, 'We should be far enough from that tavern. They probably won't catch up to us too soon...' Luffy, sitting inside the cage, complains, 'We got away... for now... But what are we gonna do about this cage? I can't do anything stuck inside this thing!' Suddenly, the physical toll of his injuries catches up to Zoro. With a heavy 'FWUMP..!', he collapses onto the ground, muttering, 'It's no use... lost too much blood......got to... rest...

Zoro lies unconscious on the street right in front of a pet food shop. Sitting nearby is the small white dog, staring blankly. Luffy, peering through the bars of his cage, asks, 'What's with you, dog?' Zoro briefly stirs, noting, 'Dog? Hey, a dog!' Luffy wonders, 'Is it real? It's not moving...' Zoro, exhausted, replies, 'Who cares... Our business is to get you out of there. It's his business if he moves or not.' Luffy reaches his hand through the bars and pokes the dog's forehead, saying, 'Maybe it's dead.' Instantly, the dog snaps and bites down hard on Luffy's face with a loud 'CHOMP!!', prompting Luffy to scream, 'Yow!!
