Mihawk continues his powerful declaration, his voice echoing across the water: "NO MATTER HOW MANY MONTHS OR YEARS PASS BY, I SHALL STAND HERE AT THE TOP OF THE WORLD AND WAIT FOR YOU! SO FORGE ON AHEAD WITH THAT FIERCE CONVICTION AND TRY TO SURPASS MY SWORD! SURPASS ME, RORONOA!". Luffy listens silently, deeply moved by the warlord's words.

Chef Zeff and the other Baratie cooks stand in awe, with Zeff remarking, "TO THINK THAT MIHAWK WOULD SAY SUCH A THING...". Johnny and Yosaku continue to tend to Zoro. Mihawk then turns his attention to Luffy and asks, "BOY, WHAT DO YOU AIM FOR?". Luffy sits up and boldly declares, "PIRATE KING!". Mihawk smiles slightly and replies, "A TOUGH PATH, INDEED. EVEN TOUGHER THAN SURPASSING MYSELF." Luffy sticks his tongue out playfully and retorts, "WHATEVER! I'M GOING TO DO IT ANYWAYS!".

From the deck of the Going Merry, Usopp calls out in a panic, "USOPP! IS ZORO ALRIGHT!?" (or rather, someone calls to Usopp, and Usopp replies), "LIKE HELL HE'D BE ALRIGHT! BUT HE IS STILL ALIVE! HE ONLY LOST HIS CONSCIOUS!". Johnny and Yosaku weep over Zoro, begging, "BRO...! PLEASE ANSWER US...!". Suddenly, a sword is raised straight up into the air from the boat. Everyone gasps in shock, and Luffy mutters, "ZORO?".
