Mayor Boodle clenches his fists and cries out in anger, "I CAN'T STAND ANY MORE OF THEIR CRUEL BULLYING! NOT AFTER THE WAY CHOUCHOU AND THIS KID FOUGHT BACK SO BRAVELY! WHAT KIND OF MAYOR STANDS BACK AND WATCHES HIS TOWN BE DESTROYED!?" Nami tries to calm him down, pleading, "MAYOR, PLEASE! CALM DOWN!" But Boodle yells, "SOMETIMES A MAN'S GOTTA DO WHAT A MAN'S GOTTA DO! ISN'T THAT RIGHT, SONNY?" Luffy grins widely and enthusiastically agrees, "THAT'S RIGHT!! YOU SAID IT, OLD MAN!!

Nami scolds Luffy, shouting, "DON'T ENCOURAGE HIM!!" Mayor Boodle, with tears in his eyes, looks back on the town's history, declaring, "FORTY YEARS OF HARD WORK!! THIS PLACE WAS A WILDERNESS WHEN WE GOT HERE." In a flashback, a group of young townspeople stand on a barren shore, declaring, "WE'LL BUILD OUR TOWN RIGHT HERE!" and "WE'LL FORGET OUR OLD TOWN THAT THE PIRATES DESTROYED." Boodle narrates, "AT FIRST, IT WAS JUST A FEW HOMES. BUT SLOWLY OUR NUMBERS GREW. WE WORKED HARD, CLEARED THE LAND. OVER TIME PEOPLE CAME AND OPENED UP SHOPS," showing scenes of the villagers building houses, fishing, and working together.
