One Piece Chapter 1, page 14: Romance Dawn

Luffy sits grumpily at the bar. Benn Beckman, smoking a cigarette, sits down next to him and explains: "Luffy... The captain's just doing what's best for everyone..." Luffy asks: "How do you figure, Mr. First Mate?" Beckman continues: "The safety of the entire crew and ship rests on his shoulders. Being a pirate isn't all fun and games, you know... There's lots of duties like... pillaging, hostage-taking, heavy drinking... and swimming! And the captain knows all about the dangers of the sea, too! It can kill you in a thousand ways! It's not that he wants to crush your dream of becoming a pirate." Luffy crosses his arms: "Well I don't believe it!! Shanks just likes to make me look dumb." Shanks suddenly calls out: "Hey, Anchor!" Luffy snaps back: "I told you!"
