One Piece Chapter 1.1, page 6-7: Romance Dawn (Version 1)

The pirate ship docks violently at the village pier with a loud crash. The village appears completely deserted. From the ship, a voice remarks, "SEEMS LIKE... A GHOST TOWN. From behind closed windows, the terrified villagers peer out, whispering, "HE'S HERE...!!" and "THAT'S CRESCENT MOON GYARI!?". One villager asks, "ISN'T CRESCENT MOON KNOWN FOR HIS BEARD?" while another points out, "IT MUST BE THAT HAT. I CAN SEE IT ON HIM." Shiruku watches with a serious expression, thinking, "HUH. I THOUGHT HE'D LOOK TOUGHER." The village headman watches anxiously, sweating as he wonders, "...... WHY IS THERE ONLY ONE PERSON COMING OUT...?"

Luffy stands casually on the railing of the pirate ship, stretching his arms and yawning. He says, "FIGHTING PEOPLE MADE ME HUNGRY." and "MAH, THERE ARE FOOD STORES. Behind him on the deck, the entire pirate crew lies defeated and unconscious. Their captain, Crescent Moon Gyari, sits on the deck bruised and battered, pointing angrily at Luffy and screaming, "BASTARD!!! JUST WHO DO YOU THINK I AM!!! DON'T THINK YOU'LL GET AWAY WITH THIS!!!"
