Yasopp and another pirate try to convince their captain: "C'mon, Cap'n... Let's take the lad with us just this once..." Shanks smiles slyly: "Okay, but one of you will have to stay behind..." The crew immediately backtracks, laughing: "Sorry, laddy, you've just been benched! Let's drink!" Luffy grumbles: "Hey!! I thought you guys were on my side!" Shanks tells him: "You're just too young, kid. Maybe in 10 years I'll give you a chance." Luffy yells: "I'm not a little kid!!" Shanks tries to soothe him: "Don't get upset now. Here, have some milk." Luffy happily drinks it: "Oh boy! Thanks!" Shanks immediately bursts out laughing: "See! A real pirate would never drink milk!!" Luffy slams his cup down, furious: "That was a dirty trick!

Luffy sits grumpily at the bar. Benn Beckman, smoking a cigarette, sits down next to him and explains: "Luffy... The captain's just doing what's best for everyone..." Luffy asks: "How do you figure, Mr. First Mate?" Beckman continues: "The safety of the entire crew and ship rests on his shoulders. Being a pirate isn't all fun and games, you know... There's lots of duties like... pillaging, hostage-taking, heavy drinking... and swimming! And the captain knows all about the dangers of the sea, too! It can kill you in a thousand ways! It's not that he wants to crush your dream of becoming a pirate." Luffy crosses his arms: "Well I don't believe it!! Shanks just likes to make me look dumb." Shanks suddenly calls out: "Hey, Anchor!" Luffy snaps back: "I told you!
