One Piece Chapter 18, page 15-17: Buggy, 'The Clown Pirate'

Buggy launches his detached hand holding knives directly at Luffy, shouting, 'BARA BARA CANNON!!' Luffy stands his ground and catches Buggy's incoming hand with a loud 'UGH!!!' sound effect. However, Buggy smirks and commands, 'SEPARATE!!' Luffy gasps, 'YIKES!', as Buggy's fingers detach from the hand he caught, still holding the knives and flying forward to slash at Luffy's face.

Luffy is knocked backward into the rubble. He sits up, blood dripping from his forehead, and looks down at his straw hat. He sees three clean knife slashes cut straight through the crown of the hat. Luffy's expression turns to one of absolute fury as he growls, 'YOU BASTARD!! THIS HAT!!!' Buggy, reassembling his hand, laughs mockingly, 'WHAT? SO, YOU'RE PISSED THAT YOUR FACE IS SCARRED?' Luffy ignores him, trembling with rage as he mutters, 'HOW DARE YOU MESS UP...

Luffy screams at the top of his lungs, 'I WILL NEVER FORGIVE ANYONE WHO MESSES UP THIS HAT!!!' Buggy is taken aback, asking, 'WHAT?' Luffy holds the hat tightly, declaring, 'THIS IS MY TREASURE!! I GOT THIS HAT AGES AGO FROM A FRIEND.' Nami watches Luffy's outburst in surprise, thinking, 'I THOUGHT THIS GUY WAS SOMEONE WHO'D NEVER GET AGITATED AT ANYTHING, BUT HE'S SO PISSED OFF NOW...!!' Buggy looks at the hat and asks, '....... IS THE HAT THAT PRECIOUS TO YOU? YEAH, YOU BASTARD!' He then swiftly prepares another attack.
