One Piece Chapter 38, page 4-7: PIRATE FLEET

A small transition panel shows Usopp happily whistling while holding a paintbrush, seemingly unaware of the danger his friends are facing.

In the forest, Jango swings his pendulum in front of Kaya, commanding, "OPEN YOUR EYES, LITTLE GIRL!!!" Kaya firmly resists, closing her eyes and declaring, "NO... I WON'T LET YOU HYPNOTIZE ME. I WON'T WRITE THE WILL." Nearby, the three young members of the Usopp Pirates appear to be fast asleep on the ground, snoring loudly.

Jango loses his patience and grabs Kaya, shouting, "IF THAT'S THE CASE, I'LL HAVE TO OPEN THEM BY FORCE!" Kaya screams, "AHHH...!!" Seizing the moment, the Usopp Pirates spring up, shouting, "HERE'S OUR CHANCE! BLIND PEPPER!!!" They throw pepper directly into Jango's eyes, causing him to sneeze violently: "HACHOO!! HACHOO!!" They follow up by hitting him with a frying pan and a bat, sending him crashing to the ground in pain.

Kaya looks at the boys in relief. The Usopp Pirates proudly declare, "WE WERE ONLY PRETENDING TO BE HYPNOTIZED!! AS IF WE WOULD FALL FOR THE SAME TRICK TWICE! PREPARE FOR THE NEXT BATTLE PLAN!!" They quickly scatter and hide. Jango recovers, gasping for breath, and realizes both the kids and Kaya have vanished. Furious, he mutters, "DAMN KIDS!! WHERE DID THEY HIDE?! THE GIRL'S GONE TOO... I SHOULD KILL THOSE KIDS FIRST!!
