One Piece Chapter 8.3, page 17-18: Nami Enters

Luffy stands up completely unharmed, stretching his arms and cheering, "WHEW-WWWW!!! FINALLY LANDED!" Nami and the pirates are stunned that he survived the fall. Seeing the pirates closing in, Nami quickly devises a plan. She runs up to Luffy, clasps her hands together, and puts on a bright smile, saying, "OH 'BOSS'! YOU'RE FINALLY HERE... I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO SAVE ME! I'LL LEAVE EVERYTHING TO YOU!" Before Luffy can react, Nami dashes away. The pirates fall for the trick, shouting, "AH! SHE RAN OFF AGAIN! WE DON'T HAVE TO CHASE THAT GIRL ANYMORE. HER 'BOSS' IS STILL HERE! THAT'S TRUE! THEY'RE TOGETHER ANYWAYS!" They surround Luffy menacingly.

One of the large, stitched-faced pirates confronts Luffy, saying, "AM I RIGHT? BOSS! THAT MAP WAS CAPTAIN BUGGY'S TREASURE!!" He swings his sword, slashing the top of Luffy's straw hat. Luffy gasps in shock as his hat is damaged. Enraged, Luffy delivers a powerful punch that sends the pirate flying backward into his comrades, knocking them all down. Luffy catches his falling straw hat, his face turning serious and angry as he warns, "DON'T YOU DARE... MESS UP MY HAT!!
