Just as Anne unlocks the cage, Spiel aims his pistol and shoots her in the back: 'PUPUH!' Anne is struck and falls to the deck, crying out, 'GWAAAH!!' Balloon screeches in panic. Spiel laughs maniacally, 'AH HA HA HA. WHO'S GONNA LET YOU TAKE HIM OUT WHEN WE FINALLY CAUGHT HIM!?' Suddenly, Luffy appears, grabbing the barrel of Spiel's gun with his bare hand: 'FOOO-OOL!!' Spiel is startled: 'GRIP...!!

Luffy holds the gun barrel to his face, looking through it like a telescope. He casually remarks, 'WHAT A GREAT WEATHER, WHERE ARE YOU HEADING?' Spiel is baffled: 'HEY... HRMM?' Luffy continues, pointing at Spiel's head: 'IT LOOKS KIND OF LIKE A WATER STRIDER. YOUR HEAD, I MEAN.' Spiel's crew is stunned by Luffy's audacity.

Anne lies on the deck, clutching her wound. The pirate crew mutters, 'IS HE AN IDIOT...!? WHAT HAS HE DONE...!?' Luffy crouches down next to Anne and asks, 'HEY, WHY ARE YOU SLEEPING WHILE YOU'RE BLEEDING?' Anne sits up, yelling angrily, 'I WAS SHOT AND I FELL DOWN!! I WAS ACTING DEAD TO WAIT FOR A CHAN-...' Luffy blinks: 'HMM?' Suddenly, Spiel fires his pistol directly at Luffy's head: '!!!' Anne screams in terror, 'KYAAA!!!
