One Piece Chapter 27, page 16-17: The Plot

Desperate, Usopp reaches out and grabs Kaya's arm, saying, "Then I'll have to make you come with me by force!" Kaya screams, "Ahh! No! Let me go!" Just then, the angry villagers arrive at the mansion gates, shouting, "Look! There's Usopp! He's at the mansion." Usopp panics, realizing his time is up: "Damn! It's the villagers!" He turns back to Kaya, begging, "I'm not lying! Everything I've said is the truth! Please believe what I'm telling you!" In response, Kaya slaps him hard across the face. The slap makes a loud sound, leaving everyone, including Merry who has just arrived, in complete shock. The villagers yell from the gate, "Stupid brat! We won't let you get away this time!

Kaya, crying tears of anger and betrayal, looks down at Usopp and says, "Look at you... How is it possible for me to believe you like this?" She reaches down, picks up the fallen guard's pistol, and points it directly at Usopp, her hands trembling: "Get out of here! Or else I will shoot you..." Usopp stares at her in utter shock, whispering, "No!!" Kaya pulls the trigger, firing a shot. The bullet grazes Usopp's arm, and he immediately turns and runs away into the night as the villagers watch in astonishment.
