One Piece Chapter 23, page 8-9: Captain Usopp Enters

Usopp looks around and asks, "PIIMAN, NINJIN, WHY ONLY YOU GUYS ARE HERE? WHERE'S TAMANEGI?" Ninjin replies, "HE'S PROBABLY STILL SLEEPING, RIGHT?" Piiman adds, "UH! I THINK SO!" Usopp wonders, "HOW CAN HE SLEEP SO MUCH?" Suddenly, a loud screaming echo ("WAAA-AAAA!!") cuts through the air. They look down the path to see another boy running toward them in a panic, crying, "THIS IS BAD! AAAAAAA!" Usopp recognizes him: "IT'S TAMANEGI!" Piiman asks, "WHAT IS HE YELLING?" The boy, introduced as "VILAGE BOY TAMANEGI", runs up sweating and gasping for breath, screaming, "THIS IS BAD! FUH... FUH... THE PIRATES ARE COMING!!

Tamanegi insists that his warning is real. "IT'S TRUE! I JUST SAW IT! THE SHIP HAS A SKULL FLAG, AND HAS COME DOWN TO THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE SHORE!" Usopp and the other two boys are skeptical, with Usopp shouting, "YOU'RE LYING!" but Tamanegi and the others cry, "IT'S TRUE!" Tamanegi adds, "AND THE SYMBOL ON THE FLAG IS OF BUGGY'S PIRATE FLEET!" (though the flag actually belongs to the Straw Hats). Usopp is shocked: "WHAT DID YOU SAY?" Tamanegi panics, "IT'S TRUE! WE'RE DEAD!" Terrified, Usopp suddenly turns to run, shouting, "ALAS! TIME FOR SNACKS!" The kids grab him, yelling, "DON'T RUN AWAY!" Usopp tries to make an excuse: "ACTUALLY, I HAVE THIS DESEASE THAT WILL KILL ME IF I DON'T EAT SNACKS..." but the kids yell back, "YOU'RE LYING!
