One Piece Chapter 27, page 17-18: The Plot

Kaya, crying tears of anger and betrayal, looks down at Usopp and says, "Look at you... How is it possible for me to believe you like this?" She reaches down, picks up the fallen guard's pistol, and points it directly at Usopp, her hands trembling: "Get out of here! Or else I will shoot you..." Usopp stares at her in utter shock, whispering, "No!!" Kaya pulls the trigger, firing a shot. The bullet grazes Usopp's arm, and he immediately turns and runs away into the night as the villagers watch in astonishment.

Merry runs to Kaya's side, shocked that she actually fired the weapon: "You almost hit him!!" Kaya, still trembling, replies, "But... he was hurting you, Ojou-sama..." Outside, the villagers chase after Usopp, shouting, "Usopp is getting away! Bastard! Stay still!! Don't let him get away! Everybody, he went that way!" Usopp runs through the dark streets, clutching his bleeding arm, tears streaming down his face as he thinks, "Damn it... Why won't they believe me!?" Back at the mansion, Merry comforts Kaya as she collapses onto her bed, crying.
