One Piece Chapter 39, page 4-6: FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS

Kuro unleashes a flurry of high-speed slashes (SFX: ZUBAAA!), tearing up the ground around them. Amidst the chaos of flying dirt and debris, Luffy manages to track Kuro's movements and lunges forward, wrapping his arms tightly around the butler. Luffy grins triumphantly and declares, "GOTCHA!" Kuro is left completely stunned and immobilized ("!?").

Kuro, trapped in Luffy's tight grip, glares down at him and snarls, "You bastard... You should've just quietly let me chop you to pieces..!!" He looks over at his groaning crew scattered across the slope and says, "Look! It's all because of you, my beloved crew, is half dead and in great pain!" The injured pirates whimper and cry out in agony ("DAMN IT...", "STOP IT!", "IT HURTS!!!"). Kuro turns back to Luffy and asks coldly, "You have something to say?" Luffy replies simply, "YUP.

Luffy cracks his knuckles (SFX: CRACK CRACK...) and declares with absolute conviction, "I SWEAR! I WILL NEVER... EVER BE A PIRATE LIKE YOU!" Kuro smiles mockingly and retorts, "Oh, you won't... Of course, you can't even be a pirate... BECAUSE... YOU WILL DIE HERE..." But Luffy refuses to let go, wrapping his limbs even tighter around Kuro's body, locking him in place. Luffy smiles fiercely and challenges him, "LET'S SEE YOU TRY! TRY AND USE YOUR 'SILENT STEP' NOW!!
