Luffy finally reaches the top of a cliff, celebrating that he made it. However, he stops and realizes he has no idea which way is north. He runs through the forest, shouting "Which way is north?!" in confusion.

Back on the slope, the pirates are tripping and falling over the spikes thrown by Usopp and Nami. Nami is pleased to see it working. Usopp prepares his slingshot, launching a lead bullet ("Namari-boshi") at the pirates, striking one of them in the face.

Usopp tries to walk away, saying he's going to rest, but Nami pats him on the back and tells him to keep up the good work. Suddenly, a skinny pirate with cat ears, a hunched back, wild spiky hair, and claw-like gloves leaps over the spikes and attacks them. Nami gasps in terror as the cat-eared pirate slashes at them, shouting "You're blocking our way! Now die!".
