One Piece Chapter 29, page 12-14: Slopes

Usopp tries to walk away, saying he's going to rest, but Nami pats him on the back and tells him to keep up the good work. Suddenly, a skinny pirate with cat ears, a hunched back, wild spiky hair, and claw-like gloves leaps over the spikes and attacks them. Nami gasps in terror as the cat-eared pirate slashes at them, shouting "You're blocking our way! Now die!".

The skinny cat-eared pirate strikes Usopp, knocking him down hard onto the ground. Usopp lies bleeding on the dirt. The cat-eared pirate mocks them, saying they can't stop them, and urges his crewmates to go because Captain Kuro is waiting for them.

As the skinny cat-eared pirate tries to walk past, Usopp grabs him by the leg, refusing to let go. The pirate is annoyed and tries to shake him off, but Usopp holds on with all his might, bleeding but determined. Usopp declares that he will never let them go because he wants the village to remain peaceful and wants the villagers to believe his warnings were just lies.
