"THIS HAS BEEN CORRIDA COLOSSEUM'S BATTLE ROYALE!!!" "WE'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE QUALIFIERS HERE AT THE COLOSSEUM!!!" The next row introduces the remaining blocks: "AND THEN THERE'S C-BLOCK!!" "B-BLOCK GAVE US THE CAPTAIN OF THE BARTO CLUB CREW..." "THE WINNER OF A-BLOCK COMES FROM THE BLACK-BEARD PIRATE CREW..." Close-ups reveal the fighters: "IT'S OUR GLADIATOR, LUCY!!!" "THE CANNIBAL," BARTOLOMEO!!" "IT'S THE 'CHAMPION,' JESUS BURGESS!" In the next panels Cavendish laughs "DAHAHAHA IF HE JUST WENT THERE TO FAIL, WELL, EVEN I COULD HAVE DONE THAT!!" while others discuss "AT THE PARA-MOUNT WAR... THE PIRATE WHO COULDN'T SAVE HIS OWN BROTHER!" and question "STRAWHAT... ISN'T THAT, UH, THAT GUYI" The bottom sequence shows Cavendish attacking violently, prompting cries of "BEHAAA!! CUT IT OUT!! A fierce close-up shows Bartolomeo snarling with sweat flying as he declares, "ONE WAY OR ANOTHER, HE'LL STAND AND BEAR THE WEIGHT OF THIS GENERATION!!! HE'S THE FUTURE KING OF THE PIRATES!!!" A second balloon continues, "...LISTEN UP STRAWHAT LUFFY-SENPAI WILL..." while a small "EEEP!" escapes nearby. The scene shifts to a flashback panel in Loguetown where a young Bartolomeo watches Luffy on the execution platform. He recalls, "IN THE EAST BLUE...! IN LOGUETOWN! AS IF!! LET GO! I... I SAW IT. TWO YEARS AGO, BUT ALSO BEFORE THAT..." Smaller panels depict the moment a bolt of lightning strikes the platform. Bartolomeo narrates with wide eyes, "AND AT THAT INSTANT!! Bartolomeo continues his passionate flashback, arms spread wide amid wanted posters: "LOOKED UP TO LUFFY-SENPAI AS AN IDOL AND ROLE MODEL! IT WAS ALL SO THRILLING!! SO MUCH SO THAT I, AN UNDERWORLD BOSS WITH 150 TOWNS UNDER MY CONTROL BACK IN MY HOMELAND AT MY PEAK... AND THE FATEFUL 'MARINEFORD'!!! SINCE THAT TIME, I'VE READ ALL THE ARTICLES ABOUT THE STRAWHAT CREW...!!" He lists, "'ALABASTA,' 'ENIES LOBBY,' 'IMPEL DOWN'!!" A small figure tosses something away with "JUST TOSS IT AWAY!" Bartolomeo yells, "AND AT LONG LAST DECIDED TO SET OUT TO SEA MYSELF...!!!" The mood shifts to chaos as Bartolomeo attacks, screaming "DY AHHHH!! YOU'RE NOTHING COMPARED TO HIM, YOU STUPID BASTARD!!!" while "BARTO LOMEO'S GOING WILD, TOO!!!" A swordsman with wild hair clashes blades, shouting "GOING ON AND ON ABOUT LUFFY-SENPAI AS IF YOU'RE BETTER THAN HIM...!!!! OK NOW. JUST TRY SAYING SOMETHING AGAIN. TRY ACTING LIKE YOU'RE WORTH SOMETHING." The opponent retorts "NYOO! NYO! HOL ON..." A helmeted fighter protests, "WHY DO WE HAVE TO FIGHT NOWI I'M TIRED!!" and a hand stops a descending blade with "BE A GOOD BOY AND RELEASE MY BLADE!" as impact lines and "ギギ...!!!" mark the clash.

Explosive action erupts with massive impact effects and "ギィィィ+アアア!!!" as fighters clash violently. Someone yells, "OI, SOMEBODY STOP THEM!" A close-up reveals a scarred, wild-haired man with sweat drops and "BA-DUM" sound effects; he thinks, "THAT SCAR UNDER HIS EYE... IT'S THE REAL THING. IT'S SO FREAKING COOL. HUHI I CAN'T SEE THROUGH ALL THESE TEARS." He mutters, "TH... THAT'S RIGHT, WE SHOULDN'T GET TOO CLOSE. EVEN NOW, AFTER ALL THIS TIMEI I'M SO NERVOUS... NO WAY I'M GOING OVER THERE..." while another warns, "WE SHOULDN'T GET CLOSE. THEY'RE DANGEROUS!" In the arena corridor a large armored fighter with a club faces a bearded man; the armored one shouts, "HEY, STRAWHAT!" The bearded fighter growls, "O... OI, YOU! THAT ROTTEN CABBAGE ASSHOLE!! I'D TEAR YOU LIMB FROM LIMB TO PROTECT HIM, BUT... CAB I... CABECHI!! IT'S NO GOOD... I CAN'T!!" while a small "!I" reaction appears nearby.

A towering bearded warrior with a spiked helmet and club roars while restrained, "LISTEN UP!! MY GRANDFATHER HAS GOT SOMETHING HE WANTS TO SAY TO YOU!!!" as a smaller fighter clings to him yelling, "HANG IN THERE, GRAMPS!" The elder warrior, tears streaming, declares, "'I CAN NO LONGER RESENT GARP... NOW I MUST EXPRESS MY DEEPEST GRATITUDE...' HAA... HAA... NO, THAT'S NOT IT..." The armored fighter reacts with shock, "GIVE IT A REST! I WON ALREADY, DIDN'T II EHHH!!!" Suddenly a massive impact strikes with "BOW! WHACK!!" and "ウワアアア!!" as the elder is struck down. A voice pleads from below, "PLEASE... ACCEPT MY THANKS FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!!" amid swirling dust and debris.

A frantic chase erupts across the page. A helmeted warrior in a flowing cape sprints desperately while voices shout from every direction. "PLEASE DON'T GO... GRANDSON OF GARP..." pleads one speaker. "AH! HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!!" another commands. "OWAHH!" cries the fleeing figure. "UWAHH!! HE PASSED BY ME! WE WERE SO CLOSE!! UM, EXCUSE ME... WAIT..." stammers someone left behind. In the next tier, an elderly bearded man declares, "I HEREBY PLEDGE TO YOU... AS THANKS FOR RESTORING MY HEAD... THE HAPPOU NAVY OF MY GRANDCHILDREN...!!!" A panicked woman sweats heavily, asking, "WH...WH... WHAT DO I DO... WHAT DO I DO. I WANT TO TALK TO HIM, BUT WHAT WOULD I SAY!I" while another yells, "OI!!! YOU CAN'T RUN AWAY FROM A FIGHT!!" The helmeted warrior reaches out, grabbing a hand with a "GRAB!" and a surprised "HMM!I" as someone calls, "THIS WAY, LUCY!" Nearby, a distressed figure complains, "WHY CAN'T I JUST FIND SOMEWHERE TO RELAX!" and another snaps, "ENOUGH OF THIS ALREADY!"

The helmeted Lucy continues fleeing as Rebecca catches up. "IT'S REBECCA. YOU'VE SURE GOT A LOT OF PEOPLE AFTER YOU! COME THIS WAY." Rebecca says. Lucy replies, "AH, THANKS A LOT!" while an ally warns, "AH, HOLD ON CAPTAIN!" A large round figure blocks the path, shouting, "NO WAY WE CAN TRUST HIM!!" as another voice notes, "BUT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT AOKIJI HERE," and a grinning figure laughs, "ZEHAHAHA COME TO THINK OF IT, THE SAME COULD BE SAID OF SHILIEW, RIGHTI" The scene shifts to a stone corridor where a small figure yells, "STRAWHAT!" and a massive warrior reacts with shock, "IT'S STRAWHAT!" Lucy stares in surprise with "HMM!I" while a cloaked man stands before the giant, who points and exclaims in recognition.

The giant warrior recognizes the cloaked man. "THAT'S RIGHT. IT'S BEEN A WHILE... ZEHAHA!! I HEARD YOU ENTERED THE TOURNAMENT, 'LUCY'." The cloaked figure replies, "SO IT'S YOU, BLACKBEARD!!" A close-up shows a shocked face asking, "YOUR BROTHER'S EXECUTION, THAT IS... ZEHAHAHA!! CAN YOU REALLY AFFORD TO BE HERE RIGHT NOWI IT'S ABOUT TO BEGIN." Lucy reacts with fury, "...!! ACE'S POWER..." while declaring, "I'LL MAKE SURE IT GOES TO ANYONE EXCEPT YOU GUYS!" A small creature adds, "I'LL BE SO HAPPY... IT'LL BE AS IF ACE HAD REALLY JOINED MY CREW...!!!" and another figure notes, "IS GOING TO MY BURGESS, HERE!! BUT THE MERA MERA NO MI... YOU KNOW, HE TURNED DOWN THAT OFFER WAY BACK WHEN." Rebecca watches tensely with a companion as the giant bursts into laughter, "WIIHA-HAHA!" amid sound effects and motion lines.

Rebecca walks through a bustling market street lined with food stalls and signs reading "Colosseum." A helmeted vendor calls out, "YOU JUST HAD ONE! ARE YOU GOING TO BUY SOMETHING OR NOT!I" while another asks, "'SCUSE ME LADY, CAN I HAVE ANOTHER SAMPLE!I" Rebecca responds firmly, "OH COME ON!" She purchases an item, saying, "THANKS FOR YOUR BUSINESS," as Lucy appears and inquires, "WHO'S THIS, REBECCAI A FRIEND OF YOURSI" The vendor reacts with surprise, "EH!I YOU ARE GONNA BUY ONE FOR ME!I" Rebecca answers, "WHICH WOULD YOU LIKE, LUCYI" and the vendor adds, "I'M SORRY, MA'AM!" They proceed down a dim corridor lined with numbered cell doors 35 and 36. Rebecca explains, "SOME CALL IT THE 'PRISON DORMS'. THIS IS WHERE THE GLADIATORS OF OUR COLOSSEUM ARE LODGED..." Lucy looks around asking, "BUT WHERE ARE WEI" Rebecca replies, "NO, NO, THANKS FOR TREATING ME, REBECCA!!" and Lucy apologizes, "SORRY, I DIDN'T HAVE MUCH MONEY!"

Rebecca smiles warmly at the viewer. "SO YOU SHOULD BE FINE UNTIL YOU HAVE TO GO OUT AGAIN." "GUEST PARTICIPANTS DON'T COME HERE." "REALLYI THAT'S GREAT!" In the next panel she sits with a small furry creature in armor who is happily eating from a bowl. "...AND AREN'T YOU HUNGRY!I" "BUT HOW IS THIS COLOSSEUM LUNCHBOX SO TASTY!I" "YEAH, WELL..." The creature replies, "I'M HUNGRY..." A nearby voice murmurs, "MOMMY..." A helmeted man with a thick beard sits nearby and insists, "I'M... FINE. DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME...!!" Another figure reacts, "HMMI YOU'RE ACTING LIKE ONE OF THOSE SAMURAI." Rebecca stands and praises him, "THAT WAS AN AMAZING MATCH. YOU REALLY SURPRISED ME WITH YOUR STRENGTH, LUCY!" Large text identifies her as "REBECCA: CORRIDA COLOSSEUM FULLTIME GLADIATOR."

Rebecca turns sharply, sweat on her face. "THAT'S WHY YOU BROUGHT HIM HERE, YEAHI" "WHAT'S GOING ON!I" In the cell the helmeted gladiator lunges forward with a weapon. "IF YOU'RE GONNA DO IT, DO IT NOW, REBECCA!!" "ALRIGHT!! I GOT HIM!!" "WAH!" A hand pokes through the bars. "POKE!" Rebecca stands over the fallen man, sword drawn. "OI I'M GONNA SPILL MY FOOD!!" The helmeted gladiator yells, "EHII WHAT THE HELL!I REBECCA!!" Close-ups show her gripping the blade tightly and the man's shocked face as the sword presses near his neck.

The helmeted gladiator is struck hard. "GY AHHH!" "GAH!" Rebecca swings her sword in a powerful arc, sending him flying backward amid impact lines and debris. "ARGH!" The small furry creature continues eating in the background, "MUNCH MUNCH." Rebecca's blade flashes with a sharp "FWIP!" as she shouts, "HIYAHH!!" Her determined face fills the final panel while the helmeted man reels from the blow.

Rebecca is slammed against the bars by the helmeted gladiator's massive arm. "AH!" A huge impact erupts with the sound effect "ドスン!!" She cries out as she is pinned. The small furry creature reacts in shock, "...KUHH...!!!" The helmeted man chews his food and mutters, "HMM..." Rebecca pants heavily, "HAA, HAA..." while the gladiator stares with wide eyes, food still in his mouth.

In the dim prison cell, a bandaged gladiator sits up after receiving food and wonders aloud, "WHY WOULD I PUNISH... SOMEONE WHO BOUGHT ME FOOD...!I" Nearby figures react in shock. One shouts, "!!! DO AS YOU MUST WITH ME... I'LL ACCEPT MY PUNISHMENT...!" while another exclaims, "HOW COULD HE BE FASTER THAN HER!I HE TOOK DOWN... REBECCA!" Rebecca, with a fierce expression, declares, "IT'S FINE. I'M NOT DEAD. AND BESIDES, YOU WEREN'T REALLY TRYING TO... BECAUSE I TRIED TO KILL YOU!!" The helmeted warrior replies calmly. Other prisoners discuss her chances: "IF ONLY SHE COULD HAVE TAKEN OUT ONE TOP CONTENDER IN ADVANCE... HER ODDS WOULD BE THAT MUCH BETTER. BUT ALL WE'VE SEEN HERE IS THE TRUE GAP BETWEEN YOUR STRENGTHS... REBECCA. YOWCH... HAA... TO BE FORGIVEN THAT EASILY..."

The prisoners explain their fate behind the bars. "UNTIL WE MEET OUR DEATHS IN THE RING, AS A SHOW FOR THE AUDIENCE...!!! IT'S BECAUSE WE'VE EACH OPPOSED THE DONQUIXOTE FAMILY AT SOME POINT." The helmeted warrior reacts with surprise, "EH... MUMMIESI WE'RE NOT MUMMIES!!!" They continue, "AND IF WE'RE CAUGHT PLOTTING TO ESCAPE, THEY'VE PROMISED TO SHOOT EVERY ONE OF US. EVEN THE MOST SKILLED FIGHTER IS BOUND TO CROAK AFTER 100 OR 50 DEATH-MATCHES. THE KING HAS PROCLAIMED THAT SHOULD A GLADIATOR REACH 1000 WINS, HE WOULD WALK FREE, BUT... SO WE'RE LEFT WITH NO CHOICE!" The warrior reflects, "UNDER HIS RULE, THIS LAND HAS SEEN UNPARALLELED SPLENDOR, BUT ALSO THE WORST KIND OF DARKNESS! THESE GLADIATORIAL FIGHTS WEREN'T DEATH-MATCHES AT ALL... UP UNTIL 10 YEARS AGO... BEFORE DOFLAMINGO BECAME KING..."

Flashbacks show the helmeted warrior's resolve: "AND OBTAIN THE POWER OF THE MERA MERA NO MI...!!! SO I CAN TAKE REVENGE ON DOFLAMINGO!! I WOULD WIN THIS TOURNAMENT, AT ANY COST. I DECIDED THAT TODAY..." Rebecca watches with concern. "HE INTENDS TO SACRIFICE HIS OWN LIFE... IN ORDER TO BRING IT ALL DOWN! DON'T YOU WORRY! WILL WAGE WAR AGAINST DOFLAMINGO...!!!" She learns of the rescue plan: "TODAY...!!! IN ORDER TO FREE US, THE FORCES LED BY SOLDIER-SAN..." In a close-up, tears streaming, Rebecca cries out, "THIS TIME, I'M GOING TO PROTECT SOLDIER-SAN!!! I'M SICK OF ALWAYS BEING PROTECTED!! AND HE'S ALWAYS BY YOUR SIDE! SOLDIER-SAN IS BRAVE!! BUT I'LL TAKE CHARGE AND DO IT BEFORE HE HAS TO!!" A small panel shows her silhouette at a window with musical notes. The page ends with the One Piece logo and chapter number.
