Voices from the crowd exclaim, "THEY'VE BEEN ASSUMED DEAD FOR 20 YEARS...!", "IT'S THE RED SCABBARDS!!", and "NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!" The massive gathering fills the streets with lanterns and banners. A man laughs, "AHAHA HAHA!!" while others react with surprise. The scene shifts to a rocky area where a tall woman in a dark dress faces a group. She states, "IN FACT, I'VE BEEN FOLLOWING YOUR EXPLOITS IN THE NEWS FOR AGES. BY THE WAY, I KNEW YOUR CREW WAS MADE UP OF A LOT OF WEIRD-LOOKING PEOPLE, BUT MEETING YOU ALL IN THE FLESH IS STILL QUITE A SHOCK... YOU'RE GONE TO TALK WITH THOSE HORNS!!" A voice responds, "HOLD ON!! I'M NOT YOUR ENEMY!!" Another shouts, "SO THIS WAR ISN'T OVER YETI!" and "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE KAIDO'S SONI!"

Yamato stands boldly with a massive club, declaring, "BUT YOU CAN CALL ME YAMATO! NICE TO MEET YOU!!" and "I GO BY KOZUKI ODEN, ANYWAY!! I'LL BE SAILING WITH YOU FROM NOW ON!" The group reacts with shock: "!!I" and "HUHI!" One replies, "WE'LL NEED TO GET CONFIRMATION FROM THE CAPTAIN BEFORE I'LL BE CONVINCED." Another adds, "IT HAS BEEN 20 LONG YEARS..." A figure steps forward and says, "STEP..." The crowd cheers, "...TO HAVE SURVIVED THIS PROTRACTED WINTER!!" An elder praises them: "YOU HAVE ALL DONE EXCEPTIONALLY WELL..." Shocked faces react as someone cries, "DON'T TELL ME... FATHER...I!" A beaming man gestures broadly, "YOU MAY DRINK AS MUCH AS YOU PLEASE!" The figure declares, "THE MONSTERS THAT HAVE KEPT YOU LIVING IN FEAR......HAVE ALL BEEN VANQUISHED!! KAIDO, OROCHI, AND THE BEAST PIRATES...!!!" The stunned crowd erupts with "WHAAAAAATI!" In the lower panels, shocked citizens react wildly: "OUR ALLIANCEI!", "THAT AWFUL OROCHI IS GONEI! THEY WERE BEATENI!", and "IS HE SERIOUSI!" A young girl with light hair speaks earnestly, "WE WILL NEVER FORGET THE HEROES WHO PAVED THE WAY......TO MAKE THIS POSSIBLE!!" while a bear-masked man stands resolute nearby. WHAT ARE YOU, MOMO, JUST A FIGUREHEAD-" He cuts himself off and declares with fierce determination, "BUT I'LL NEED YOU TO LEND ME YOUR STRENGTH!!! I HAVE TRANSCENDED THE LAST 20 YEARS TO SAVE THIS LAND!! FROM THIS MOMENT ON... MY NAME WAS GIVEN TO ME BY MY FATHER!! IT MEANS SECOND TO NONE!! I SWEAR TO LIVE UP TO THAT BY RESTORING THIS COUNTRY'S BARREN LANDS TO THE PARADISE THEY ONCE WERE!!"

Momonosuke stands powerfully in ornate robes, sword at his side, shouting with conviction, "KOZUKI MOMONOSUKE!! WANO WILL BE LED BY ME," as debris flies around him. Smaller panels show chaotic reactions and flashbacks: a young Momonosuke crying "WAAAH!!!", Hiyori's tearful face, Oden's final moments, and Momonosuke vowing "I WILL KEEP MY PROMISE!!" and whispering "MOTHER... Final narration declares, "WE HAVE JUST BORNE WITNESS TO THE BIRTH OF THE GREAT SHOGUN, KOZUKI MOMONOSUKE!! THIS MAN WILL ONE DAY BE KNOWN FAR AND WIDE AS ONE OF WANO'S GREATEST LEADERS....HAS RETURNED!!" The chapter ends with the massive crowd cheering "わああああああああ" and the title "ONE PIECE".
