In the middle section, Magellan glares with a menacing expression, declaring "THEY DON'T SEEM TO HAVE REALIZED THEY'VE BEEN TRAPPED." "MARINES! SEND A SHIP THIS WAY!!" "I'LL CHASE THEM AND FINISH THEM OFF..." and "I NEVER THOUGHT THEY'D MAKE IT THIS FAR...!!!" while noting "ROGER THAT." The bottom panels erupt into chaos as cannon fire strikes the sea near the escaping ship; prisoners scream "UWAAH! THEY'VE STARTED SHOOTING!!!" Marines shout "ALL SHIPS, OPEN FIRE!!!" and a rear admiral orders the attack, replying "GOOD." to the report that "REAR ADMIRAL, THE CANNONS THAT JIMBEI DAMAGED HAVE BEEN REPAIRED."

BUT A BATTLESHIP IS STILL A BATTLESHIP!! IT'S STRONG NO MATTER WHO'S ON IT!!!" Explosions rock the ship as pirates are blasted aside. "OWAAH!!! THEY GOT US!!!" A close-up shows a furious marine officer in a "MARINE" cap roaring at the prisoners, "FOR PIRATES LIKE YOU!!! DON'T YOU REALIZE THAT IT'S HOPELESS!I THE GATES OF JUSTICE WILL NEVER OPEN"

A massive structure looms above the waves as the ship sails beneath it. "THAT'S RIGHT!!! THAT THING'S STILL THERE!!!" a voice cries. The crew panics: "THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!!! THIS IS THE WORST POSSIBLE SITUATION! WE CUT THROUGH IT!!! WHAT DO WE DO, SHARK!I GEEEH!!! WE MADE IT THIS FAR AND WE'RE GETTING STOPPED HERE!!!I THIS IS TERRIBLE!!! WE CAN'T OPEN THAT!!!" Luffy and the others stare upward in shock as the massive gate mechanism blocks their path, with dramatic impact effects filling the sky.

On the deck, Buggy's crew argues frantically. "WE'LL FIRE BACK AT THEM, YOU BASTARDS!!!" one prisoner yells. Buggy snaps, "MY PLAN IS... CAN'T YOU FIRE THE CANNONS YOU USELESS MORONS!!!I WHY ARE WE JUST DEFENDINGI THIS IS A BATTLESHIP TOO." Another orders, "FIRST, PROTECT THE SHIP!!!" A crewmate replies, "ROGER THAT, CAPTAIN BUGGY!! PROTECT THE SHIP!!!" Cannons roar as a marine bellows, "FIRE!!! SINK THEIR SHIP..." The marine captain growls, "THE GATES CAN ONLY BE CONTROLLED FROM IMPEL DOWN. THERE'S NO OTHER WAY TO OPEN THEM!!! DAMN PRISONERS... THEY KNOW THEY'RE TRAPPED LIKE RATS. WHY ARE THEY HEADING FOR THE GATES OF JUSTICE!!!I"

At Impel Down's gate control room, a marine shouts, "CHIEF WARDEN MAGELLAN, QUICKLY!!!" Magellan snarls, "NO, WAIT...!! IT CAN'T BE..." The massive Gates of Justice begin to creak open with thunderous sound effects. "THE GATES OF JUSTICE... ARE OPENING!!!" A uniformed marine sweats and asks, "ARE YOU SURE WE SHOULD OPEN THE GATE, CHIEF WARDEN MAGELLAN!!!" On the ship, prisoners react in shock and joy: "I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED, BUT THE GATE'S OPEN!!! UWOOHHHH!!! ALL RIGHT!!! IS IT A TRAP!I WHY... WHAT'S GOING ON!I WHAT'S GOING ON!!I WHY IS THE GATE OPENING!!!I"

In the chaos at Impel Down's front gates, Magellan barks orders from above: "AFTER THEIR ONE VESSEL PASSES THROUGH, IMMEDIATELY SHUT THE GATES! GOT IT!I" A subordinate protests, "NO! I'M NOT QUESTIONING YOU." Magellan growls, "IT'S FINE. HAVE MY ORDERS EVER BEEN MISTAKENI" Below, marines panic as they realize the commands came from Magellan himself. "WERE THESE MAGELLAN'S ORDERS!I WHAT'S HE DOING!I" one shouts while pointing. Another yells, "DON'T LET THEM ESCAPE!!! THERE'S NO WAY WE'LL LET THEM GO!!!" and orders, "FIRE!!!" A marine officer salutes and replies, "YES, SIR." On the pier, a marine reports to the group, "SIR, I DON'T THINK THESE ARE THE CHIEF WARDEN'S ORDERS!! HE WAS STANDING ON THE PIER BY THE FRONT GATES JUST A MOMENT AGO." Explosions rock the escaping ship as smoke and debris fill the air. Another marine cries out, "I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY HE'S DOING THIS!!! WHAT'S WRONG WITH CHIEF WARDEN MAGELLAN!!!I"

Magellan races through the corridors of Impel Down, panting heavily with "HAA..." sound effects trailing him. A sign reads "Impel Down, Interior." He bursts into the gate control room, where a subordinate reacts with shock: "!!!" and "OH..." Another gasps, "EHH!!I" and "OH... CHIEF WARDEN!!I" Magellan demands, "WHO TOLD YOU TO OPEN THE GATES OF JUSTICE...!!!!" The gate control officer stammers, "HAA...!!! GATE CONTROL ROOM!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!I" as Magellan smashes through with a powerful impact, "ばんっ". Below, Luffy stares in wide-eyed disbelief, "BON-CHAN DID THAT...!I" while a background figure reacts, "REALLY!I HE..."

Luffy shouts in alarm, "ARE WE JUST GOING TO LEAVE HIM BEHIND!I" as the crew debates on the ship. "THERE'S NO TIME." "ARE WE JUST GOING AHEAD!I" "HE WAS WITH US AT THE FRONT GATES!! BON-CHAN STAYED AT IMPEL DOWN BY HIMSELF!I" One crew member insists, "WE'LL JUST LOSE MORE MEN AND MORE TIME!!! IF SOMEONE DIDN'T STAY BEHIND, WE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO OPEN THE GATES!!!" Another counters, "WE'VE LEFT HUNDREDS OF PRISONERS BEHIND ALREADY!!! DO YOU WANT TO GO BACK AND FACE MAGELLAN AGAIN!I" Inazuma declares, "I'LL OPEN THE GATES OF JUSTICE!!!" while Emporio Ivankov adds, "I'M THE BEST ONE FOR THE JOB!!" A crew member warns, "NOT UNTIL THE LINE IS CUT. AN OKAMA DOESN'T NEED WORDS TO SAY FAREWELL..." Ivankov grins, "DO YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOWI" and another asks, "BUT AFTER THAT... WHAT WILL YOU DO...!!I"

A Den Den Mushi reports, "IT'S STILL CONNECTED...!!!!" and "THE SIGNAL WILL BE LOST." Luffy grips the wheel as the gates begin closing amid massive explosions and smoke. The Den Den Mushi continues, "ONCE THOSE GATES CLOSE, THIS SMALL DEN DEN MUSHI'S RANGE IS SHORT...!!!" A voice laughs triumphantly, "THAT'S RIGHT, ME!! NGAAAHA-HAHAHA!!!" as Bon Clay appears in Magellan's form, striking a dramatic pose with "ばーん!!" and "はっはっはっ". Marines react in shock: "HE GOT US AGAIN!!!" "HE WAS A FAKE!!!" Magellan glares and mutters, "YOU..." while the fake Bon Clay continues his defiant laughter.

Bon Clay stands tall in his stolen Marine uniform, face twisted in determination as alarms blare and ZAZA sound effects ring out. A Marine soldier points in shock while others fire wildly. Bon Clay's voice echoes, "I TOOK YOUR FACE INTO MY MEMORY!!" A close-up shows his fierce expression as he asks, "WHY YOU..." and another panel cries, "WHAT HAPPENED HEREI!" Luffy, battered and wide-eyed, shouts desperately, "STRAW-CHAN!!!" and "HEY!! CAN YOU HEAR ME!I BON-CHAN!!!" Bon Clay glares back with blood on his face, yelling, "WHY DID YOU DO THIS AGAIN!I IT'S JUST LIKE LAST TIME!!!" Luffy screams in anguish, "YOU...!!! YOU WERE ALWAYS SAVING ME!!! WEREN'T WE GOING TO ESCAPE TOGETHER!!!" Bon Clay's anguished face appears as he recalls, "JIMBEI!! YOU PROMISED NOT TO SAY ANYTHING UNTIL THE LINE WAS CUT!!!" Explosions rock the escaping ship in the background.

The chaotic crowd of prisoners and allies shouts desperately at the closing gates. Voices cry, "SAY SOMETHING, BON-CHAN!!!" and "IF YOU'RE THERE..." Luffy stares in horror. A massive panel shows the group yelling, "BON BOY...!!!!" "MR. 2!! GUYS LIKE YOU...!!!!" "BON-CHAAAN!!" "BON BRO, SAY SOMETHING!!!" Bon Clay's face twists in pain as he whispers, "UUH...!!!" Smaller panels show the prisoners waving and crying, "THANK YOU!!!" "WAAAH" "THANK YOU, BON BRO!!!" Bon Clay continues through his tears, "MAKE SURE YOU SAVE YOUR BROTHER!!!" A final close-up captures Bon Clay's determined, crying expression as the vessel escapes into the distance.

Explosions and smoke erupt as the massive gates slam shut. Voices shout, "THE GATES ARE CLOSING!! SINK THEM!!" Bon Clay's face appears one last time, tearful, saying, "IF IT'S YOU... I'M SURE..." The escaping ship sails into the open sea amid massive waves. A huge impact SFX "ガゴォ" and "BUTSU" "ZAAA" shakes the panel. Distant cries echo, "BON BRO!!!" "BON-CHAN!" The ship grows smaller on the horizon. On the Marine side, two officers stare in disbelief, one wearing a "MARINE" cap, as they realize, "THEY ESCAPED...!!!!" Small figures of the escapees celebrate in the water below.

A massive Marine warship looms over the ocean as voices cry out in despair. "WE'D BE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THESE GATES, AT THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN....!!!" another adds, "IF IT WEREN'T FOR HIM..." Below, Emporio Ivankov stands with a grim expression while prisoners watch. Narration reads, "Even in Hell,..." A close-up shows Bon Clay's tear-streaked, determined face. Further panels depict waves crashing on shore and a single flower blooming amid rubble. The narration continues, "As waves break on the shore, the single flower known as friendship blooms." In the final panel, Mr. 2 Bon Clay kneels with arms raised in a dramatic pose, his body wrapped in bandages. Text reads, "May it one day bloom again, Okama Way." A wide shot reveals the towering fortress of Impel Down with text noting, "At this time, 241 prisoners have successfully escaped" and identifying it as "the world's greatest sea floor prison, Impel Down." A final box states, "Time left until Portgas D. Ace's execution: Four hours."
