Luffy looks concerned, asking, "Her fever might go down...? You think if we dumped a bucket of water on her," before he is abruptly interrupted by a swift kick to the face from Sanji. "Pow!" Luffy yells "Gaaah!" as Sanji angrily shouts, "Are you retarded!?" Nearby, Vivi looks down, sweating and worried. She notes, "Without Nami's navigational sense, sailing in the night is too dangerous..." Sanji, lighting a cigarette and looking out a window, agrees. "Right... I guess we better drop the anchor for the night then. Damn it... the sun's already going down for the day, Vivi." A "Drop" sound effect indicates the anchor being lowered.

In the ship's cabin, Nami lies in bed, sweating profusely and breathing heavily as she sleeps. A clock ticks on the wall. A silhouette of Vivi sits beside her, gently wiping Nami's forehead with a cloth. The room is quiet except for the ticking and the loud snoring of Zoro and Luffy, who are both fast asleep on the floor. Usopp is also asleep on a nearby couch. Sanji sits awake in a chair, keeping watch. Outside, the ship is anchored under a dark sky. Sanji notes, "It'll be a full moon soon..." He shivers, adding, "Whoo boy, it's cold." Suddenly, both Sanji and Vivi notice something, their expressions turning to surprise.

Sanji, looking annoyed with a cigarette in his mouth, says, "Whatever, don't pay any mind to him anymore..." Up in the crow's nest, Usopp looks through binoculars and wonders, "Hm? I still want to know what the hell all that was about... You know, those guys from yesterday. I mean, I've never even heard of a pirate called Wapol, but he had a ship that no mere no-name pirate could get!" Meanwhile, on Wapol's submarine ship, his men, Chess and Kuromarimo, are in a panic. "Your Majesty!" one cries. "This is extremely bad! His Majesty was flung into the ocean!" another yells. "Craaaaaaaap! And he can't swim either!" The crew scrambles, shouting, "Back to the ship everyone! If we don't go rescue him, he'll drown for sure!"

Chess and Kuromarimo yell angrily from their ship, "And as for you scum! We'll have our revenge one day! Remem-ber us!" As Wapol's ship sails away into the snowy distance, they continue to shout, "Don't forget it! Please remember us!" On the Going Merry, Sanji smokes his cigarette and dismisses them, saying, "Just a bunch of idiots. Nothing more, nothing less." The rest of the crew - Vivi, Luffy, Zoro, Usopp, and Karoo - stand on the deck, watching the ship depart as snow begins to fall around them. A faint "Pleaaase!" echoes from the retreating ship.

Usopp is busy hammering something on the deck. "It's probably just another bizarre aspect to the Grand Line..." he says. Sanji replies, "Yeah I guess now that you mention it." Sanji looks up at the falling snow and adds, "More importantly... Don't you think it's been pretty cold every day for awhile now?" Usopp accidentally hits his thumb with the hammer, yelling "Ow!" In the background, Zoro is lifting heavy weights. Usopp wonders, "Winter Island? There must be a 'Winter Island' nearby." Sanji calls out, "Vivi?" Vivi answers, "No, it's proof that we're close to an island. Sanji, watch carefully for land on the horizon." She begins to explain, "In terms of climate, the islands of Grand Line can be classified into 4 types. Summer Island, Spring Island, Autumn Island, and Winter Island. And each of these 4 islands generally have 4 seasons of their own."

Vivi continues her explanation, visualizing the four types of islands - Summer, Spring, Fall, and Winter - each with their own four seasons. "In short, in order to survive sailing across Grand Line, you should be able to endure all 16 types of seasons, from the summer of Summer Island all the way to the winter of Winter Island." Usopp, still hammering, replies, "Of course, there still are exceptions and unknown climates." He realizes, "I see... so the reason why Grand Line has such unpredictable climate, is due to being trapped between all these islands, each with their own distinct climate..." Sanji, looking through binoculars, confirms, "Exactly." The Going Merry sails on as Vivi concludes, "That's why climate stabilization signals the presence of an island nearby...!" Sanji spots something ahead. "You're right... I can see land up ahead!"

A large island with towering, snow-covered peaks appears on the horizon. Someone shouts, "Land ahoy!" Inside the cabin, Zoro stands bundled in a thick winter coat while Luffy, still in his usual light clothing, excitedly tells Nami, "Nami, did you hear that! It's an island! Now we can get you all better!" Zoro tells Luffy, "Just go outside and look..." Luffy's eyes widen in excitement as he exclaims, "Land!?"

Luffy bursts out of the cabin, his mouth wide open in awe. "Whoa-aaaa-aaaa! It's an island!" He sits on the ship's figurehead, marveling at the sight. "It's so white! It must be snow! A snow island!" Behind him, Sanji, Usopp, and Vivi stand in their winter gear. Vivi tries to ground him, saying, "Luffy! Let me just say now that we can't afford to go on an adventure this time. Once we get a doctor to treat Nami, we're leaving right away." Usopp, looking nervous, says, "Oh no! My can't-enter-island-itis is acting up again! Get ready to dock, guys." He then panics, "Hold on a moment... Is that island gonna be safe? If there's snow, couldn't there be snow monsters or something!? There might not even be any humans living on it!" But Luffy is already running around on the snowy shore, laughing, "Snow is so fun..." Vivi sighs, "No good, he's already off in his own world..."

A wide view shows the island's unique landscape: massive, drum-shaped mountains rising high into the sky, completely covered in snow. The wind howls as the Going Merry sails up a waterway towards the land. Luffy sits on the figurehead, shivering but grinning widely. "So much snow... Wow... Just what are those mountains...! I'm so happy..." Behind him, Usopp and Sanji, heavily bundled up, look at him in disbelief. Usopp asks, "Aren't you cold wearing only that?" Sanji adds, "It's -10 degrees, cold enough for a bear to begin hibernating."

Luffy suddenly realizes how cold he is, shivering violently and stammering, "Brrrrr! Huh? Ah-" Usopp and Sanji yell at him, their faces comically exaggerated, "Could you be any slower!?" The ship approaches a snowy bank near a meltwater waterfall. "We should be able to dock our ship around here," someone notes. Zoro, shirtless and seemingly unaffected by the cold, asks, "So...? Who's going to go look for a doctor?" Sanji suggests, "Actually... I guess we should start by seeing if there are even any people." Luffy, now wearing a winter coat, volunteers enthusiastically, "I'll go!" Sanji agrees, "Me too!" Usopp cheers them on from behind, "Yes, go forth, my comrades!"

As the Going Merry docks, they are met by a hostile reception. A large group of men in winter clothing stands on the snowy shore, aiming rifles directly at the ship. "Stop right there, pirates!" one of them shouts. Luffy, Usopp, and Vivi look at the armed crowd. Luffy says, "Hey, there're people." Usopp, sweating nervously, remarks, "Uhh... judging from the mood, this doesn't look so good..." A stern-looking man with a square jaw, wearing a thick fur-lined coat, steps forward. This is Dalton. He commands them, "You will turn around immediately, and leave this island at once."

Luffy and Vivi try to reason with the armed men. "Wait! We've come here for a doctor!" Luffy pleads. Vivi adds, "We have a sick person on board!" The islanders are unsympathetic, yelling back, "Those lies won't work on us, pirate-scum!" They keep their rifles aimed, shouting, "This is our country and we won't let no stinking pirates run amok on it! Now pull your anchor back up and beat it! Or else we'll make you leave!" On the ship, Sanji, Zoro, and Usopp watch the tense standoff. Sanji, looking annoyed, mutters, "Whoo... talk about a bad first impression..."

Sanji loses his patience and leaps forward, kicking one of the islanders' rifles away with a loud "Agh!" The islanders yell, "Don't talk back at us!" Sanji glares at them angrily. Usopp panics, shouting, "They opened fire!" One of the islanders aims his gun directly at Sanji, saying, "Now you've done it..." and cocks the weapon with a "Click". Suddenly, Vivi jumps in front of Sanji just as the gun goes off. She takes the bullet, crying out "Ack!" Sanji is shocked, yelling, "Why you...!" as Vivi falls, shouting, "Sanji, no!"

Vivi collapses onto the snowy deck, clutching her bleeding arm. The islander's gun barrel is still smoking. Sanji stares in shock, yelling, "Vivi!" Luffy is instantly enraged, his face contorted in fury as he screams, "How dare you!" He prepares to attack the men who shot his friend.

The islanders quickly ready their weapons, cocking their rifles. "Prepare to shoot!" they command. Luffy charges forward, ready to fight, but Vivi grabs his leg, stopping him in his tracks. "No, wait! This isn't a problem you can solve by fighting!" she cries out. "You don't have to worry about me, the bullet only grazed my arm!" Vivi then forces herself to her knees and bows her head to the deck, pleading with the islanders. "I beg of you! We promise not to set foot on your country... So could you please just call over a doctor!? Our friend is gravely ill and in much pain! Please help her!"

Vivi looks up at Luffy, her expression serious despite her injury. "Vivi..." Luffy says, surprised. She tells him, "You're failing to carry out your duties as ship captain, Luffy... Recklessly fighting isn't always going to solve everything..." Blood drips from her wounded arm onto the deck. "If you were to start a fight right now, what would become of Nami...?" Luffy stares at her, realizing the truth in her words. His anger fades, replaced by understanding. He bows his head deeply and shouts, "Sorry! I was wrong!"

Both Luffy and Vivi are now bowing on the deck, their heads touching the floor. "Please save our friend," Luffy pleads. "We only ask for a doctor," Vivi adds. On the shore, Dalton and the armed islanders watch them in silence. Dalton's stern expression softens slightly, seemingly surprised by their humility. On the ship, Zoro, Usopp, and Sanji also watch silently, respecting their captain's decision to bow.

Dalton finally speaks, his tone less hostile. "...We'll lead you to our town. Follow me." Vivi smiles in relief, looking at Luffy. "See? They understood us." Luffy smiles back, impressed. "Yeah, you're amazing." Dalton turns to lead the way but stops to give them a warning. "Let me give you one warning beforehand... There is only one doctor in our country... and she happens to be a witch." Luffy looks up, confused by the statement. "Wha?"
