Cool Fight

The snowfield falls silent around Brownbeard's wounded body. Luffy stares at him and blurts, "HUH?! BROWN CROC?!" The others realize the rescuers were never there to save Brownbeard at all. "DIDN'T THOSE GUYS JUST NOW COME TO SAVE HIM?!!" someone cries, but the answer is immediate: "NO, IT LOOKS LIKE THEY WERE AFTER THE KIDS!! THAT AND OUR LIVES...!!!" The cruelty of Caesar's order becomes clear: "BUT FIRST, THEY ELIMINATED BROWNBEARD ON THEIR MASTER'S ORDERS!! EVEN THOUGH HE WAS ON THEIR SIDE!!" Brownbeard had trusted Caesar completely, insisting, "Our master is a benevolent god and saviour...!!" Seeing him discarded anyway, Luffy understands the shape of the enemy and says, "LUFFY, THIS 'MASTER' MUST BE A PRETTY SCREWED-UP GUY, RIGHT?"

The children remain unconscious and tied together, and the Straw Hats decide that sending them back to Caesar is impossible. Nami's body declares, "I'M NEVER GOING TO LET THESE KIDS GO BACK TO THAT MONSTER!!!" The group is also worried about the body that was taken away: "I'M REALLY WORRIED ABOUT NAMI-FRANKY WHO GOT ABDUCTED BY THEM, TOO!!" and "WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY MIGHT DO TO HER!!" Luffy decides at once: "I'LL GET THEM BACK NO MATTER WHAT!!! YOU GUYS TAKE CARE OF THE KIDS!!!" Franky, trapped in Chopper's body, refuses to stay behind: "HOLD IT, LUFFY!! I'M GOING WITH YOU!! IT'S MY BODY THAT GOT ABDUCTED!!" He asks Chopper for "THOSE BEAN THINGS" that let him transform. Chopper corrects him: "BEANS?!! MY RUMBLE BALLS ARE A POWERFUL MEDICINE!!" He warns that Monster Point lasts only three minutes and leaves the user unable to fight afterward, but Franky snatches the pill before the explanation can finish: "ALL RIGHT, JUST HAND IT OVER."

Franky swallows the Rumble Ball immediately. Chopper panics, "YOU ATE IT ALREADY?!!!" and the small body he was using explodes into Chopper's huge Monster Point form. Franky roars, "GGGGGGRRRRUUU DDDOHHHHHH!!!!!" Luffy treats the transformation as useful and shouts, "ALL RIGHT, LET'S MOVE, FRANKY!! THIS WAY!!" but Franky has no control. He lunges wildly, forcing Luffy to yell, "GUAHHH HHHH!!! WHY IS HE TRYING TO ATTACK ME?!" Chopper can only confirm what he feared: "I KNEW IT... HE'S COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL!!" The rescue party now has a rampaging ally to drag into battle along with everything else.

Robin looks at Franky's berserk Monster Point and asks the obvious question: "So, uh, what's Franky actually planning to do?" The answer is not encouraging. Once he returns to normal, he will be unable to move; as someone says, "I can't really see him being much help," and another bluntly adds, "He'll just be in the way." Inside the laboratory, Monet reports to Caesar about the attacking Marines while holding Franky's wanted poster. Caesar says, "I've already got a solution to that problem in the works." He orders the island's troops evacuated if they do not want to die. Monet explains why Franky matters: "I don't know where he got his hands on it... but this 'Cyborg' Franky seems to have one of Vegapunk's lasers embedded in his body...!!" Once Caesar slices the body apart and retrieves the laser system, he has "no further use for him" and can give him "a nice warm furnace bath!!" Far away in the snow, Nami's voice screams, "LET ME GO!! I SAID LET GO, IDIOT!!"

The Yeti Cool Brothers carry off Franky's body with Nami inside it. Nami thrashes and shouts, "WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE?! YOU PERVERTS!! WHAT ARE YOU PLANNING TO DO WITH ME, HUH?!" She fumes through Franky's voice, "I mean, I know I'm super-cute and ultra-stylish and anyone in their right mind would want to kidnap me..." One brother mutters, "What is this man talking about...? He's clearly an okama. How cool..." Nami threatens them anyway: "BUT YOU'D BETTER BE PREPARED FOR THE CONSEQUENCES! LUFFY WON'T LET YOU GET AWAY WITH THIS!! HE'LL MAKE YOU WISH YOU WERE NEVER BORN!!" The brothers calmly load their weapons. One tells her, "I'll ask you to be quiet. People who prattle on endlessly... aren't cool at all." They are not interested in Nami; they are interested in Franky's body. "But it looks like the weapon attached to your body... is pretty cool. And if we hand it over to our master, our reward will be... SO COOL!!"

The kidnappers reveal themselves in the snow as the "YETI COOL BROTHERS - SNOW MOUNTAIN KILLERS - Rock & Scotch." They are enormous figures, and their rifles are so large that Nami realizes the scale of the weapons. Still trapped in Franky's body, she also complains, "MY BODY'S FEELING TOO COOL!!" and then yells, "PUT SOME CLOTHES ON!!!" Rock and Scotch explain the danger: "What are rifles to us may as well be cannons to you. We have poison-gas shells as well! The likes of you won't even be able to find us, let alone defeat us...!!" They are deliberately using Nami as bait. "You think your crewmates will come for you? But of course. That's what we're counting on; we've made sure of it. Nobody can resist following a trail of footprints in the snow..."

Nami's scream, "AHHHH!" carries across the mountains, and Luffy's group follows the huge tracks through the snow. Robin says, "A trail of footprints! That's helpful!" Luffy agrees, "They're pretty big and obvious, too!" That obvious trail is the trap. The footprints stop at the edge of a cliff, and Luffy notices too late: "Huh? The footprints end her-" Franky, still out of control in Monster Point, barrels forward as someone yells, "HEY, FRANKY, STOP THAT!!" From above, the Yeti brothers watch the prey step where they wanted. "Here they come!! Let's do this, Scotch!!" one says, and the other answers, "OK, Rock!! They must be pretty thickheaded not to even notice the cliff!" The group shouts after Luffy and Franky as they tumble into the trap.

Luffy spots Nami tied up below and calls, "Huh? Nami!!" Nami warns him at once: "Be careful!! There are enemies here!!" The brothers spring the next layer of the trap: "Too easy!! Meet your doom... on this bed of icicles!!" Below Luffy and Nami is a field of sharp ice spikes. Nami screams, "HUH?!! WHOAHHHH!! IT'S A SEA OF SPIKES DOWN BELOW!!!" Luffy answers with his body before anyone can fall into them. He starts, "Gomu Gomu no!!!" and hardens himself with "Armament Reinforcement!"

Luffy turns the fall into an attack. He unleashes "Gatling!!!" and batters through the danger, while Nami, gagged, can only struggle and mumble, "HMLP PHH..." The hidden shooter studies him and says, "I see... so this won't be quite that simple..." Luffy keeps fighting in midair and notices the enemy's voice from the snow. The brother asks, "You're those guys from before, right?" Luffy expands his rubber body to protect himself and Nami from the shots and the ice below.

Luffy uses the falling bullets as a lesson from his training. He explains that using the technique as "a 'simple defence' that does nothing but bounce bullets in random directions isn't very efficient." It is better to send every bullet back "at double the speed in a powerful counterattack!!" He adds, "That's what Rayleigh taught me!" Then he fires back with "GOMU GOMU NO... OREI FIRE!!" The counterattack tears through the blizzard and hits one of the brothers, who cries out as the other shouts, "Rock!!"

Even wounded, the Yeti brother keeps fighting. "UGH... YOU JUST WAIT... THIS MOUNTAIN OF ICE IS A TREASURE TROVE OF WEAPONRY!!" Nami sees danger above and shouts, "WATCH OUT!! THE SUMMIT OF THE ICE-MOUNTAIN...!!!" At the same time, Franky in Monster Point causes as much trouble for his own side as for the enemy. Someone yells, "I SAID STOP THAT, FRANKY!!" while Nami snaps, "WHY IS HE GIVING YOU THE MOST TROUBLE OF ALL?!!!" The Yeti brother, watching the chaos, realizes the Straw Hats are fighting among themselves and takes it as an insult: "NGHHH... ARE THEY... FIGHTING AMONGST THEMSELVES...?! THEY'RE TAKING US LIGHTLY, THE BASTARDS..."

The Yeti Cool Brothers strike from multiple angles. Nami warns, "They're attacking from your sides as well!! Look out!!!" and then, "Luffy!! Franky!! Watch out above you!!!" A huge mass of ice comes down from the mountain, while the brothers fire poison-gas shells. One boasts, "You're not going to be able to dodge that glacier!! Not after I hit you with my KYP gas shells that induce instant drunkenness...!! Now meet your ends like your three crewmates did before you!!!" The trap is meant to bury Luffy and Franky under the mountain itself.

Franky's uncontrolled Monster Point suddenly becomes useful. He smashes through the falling danger with a roar, "GGRR RRUUOO OOOHH HHH!!!" Luffy, surprised, shouts, "He did something useful!!!" Nami praises him too: "Nice going!! Not bad at all, Franky!!" The celebration lasts only a second before the monster turns that wild energy toward them again, and Nami screams, "AGHH!! Seriously, you need to quit doing that!!!" Luffy uses the opening and prepares another heavy blow: "GOMU GOMU NO...!!"

Luffy launches "ELEPHANT GUN!!!!" with enough force that one brother shouts, "THE STRONGEST ATTACK YOU'VE USED ALL DAY?!!!" The hit tears across the mountain, but Nami is still in the path of danger. She cries, "NOOOOOOO!!! LUFFY!!" Luffy realizes the problem too late: "OH, NO... NAMI!!!" Franky and Chopper's shared situation also becomes collateral damage, and Luffy apologizes, "SORRY, FRANKY AND CHOPPER! I'll get Chopper to fix you up later!!" With the enemy trying to escape through the enormous mountain region, Luffy mutters that if he loses them now, "it'll be a real pain finding them!!"

One of the Yeti Cool Brothers races up the sheer ice with Nami still in tow, confident that the terrain belongs to them. He declares, "THESE MOUNTAINS ARE LIKE OUR PERSONAL GARDEN. YOU CAN'T POSSIBLY CATCH US HERE!!" Luffy looks up as someone says, "WHOA!! HE WENT STRAIGHT UP!" Then Trafalgar Law appears in the escape route. Nami recognizes him: "That's...!!" The brother starts to speak as if Law's arrival is convenient, but Law cuts into the scene with cold irritation: "The hell do you think you're playing at?!!" He closes the distance and uses "Counter Shock," electrocuting the giant with a burst of power. The Yeti screams, "NGUA AAAAHH!!!" as the pursuit ends abruptly.

The defeated Yeti brother collapses into the snow, and Luffy recognizes the man who stopped him: "TRA-DUDE!!" Brownbeard, still suffering from Law's earlier body-switching, erupts with his own demand: "Wait, forget that!! You - Give me my body back!!" Luffy focuses on Nami first and asks Law, "Oh, did you help out Nami?!!" Law does not come only to help. He says, "...I've been doing a little thinking... I came here to discuss something with you, Straw Hat...!!" Luffy listens as Law begins with the fact that their meeting was accidental: "I don't doubt it was pure chance that brought you here..."

Law reveals that Punk Hazard hides something larger than the battle just fought. "But there's an important key hidden somewhere on this island. Something with the power to turn the New World upside down." He lays out the New World's brutal choice: "If you want to survive in the New World, there are only two ways to go about it. Either you swear allegiance to one of the YonKou... or you do battle with them." Law knows Luffy's nature and says, "You don't seem like the kind of guy who would subordinate himself to another pirate." Luffy answers without hesitation: "That's right! I want to be captain!" Law then makes the proposal that changes the course of the arc: "Then form an alliance with us!" Luffy repeats, "...An alliance?" and Law explains, "If you and I work together, we may just be able to pull this off..." His target is not Caesar alone: "I have a plan... to take down one of the YonKou!!!" The chapter ends on "67 Cool Fight (End)."
