On the damaged deck outside the Baratie, Gin stands holding his tonfa weapons, facing Sanji. Luffy and Zeff watch from the background. Gin speaks to Sanji, 'Sanji, I wanted you to leave this ship without hurting you. But it seems things can't be that way. No, they can't.' Gin's expression darkens, sweat forming on his face as he continues, 'So then the least I could do is kill you myself... That's the solution I've arrived at.' Sanji, bleeding from the mouth but maintaining his composure, lights a cigarette and replies with a smirk, '...Ha. Why, thank you. Now kindly eat shit and die.'

Luffy, standing behind Sanji, speaks up, addressing Gin. 'You too, Strawhat. It would've been best for you to leave with your crewmates earlier,' Gin says. Luffy casually replies, 'Hm? Nah, it's not as if I could ever be beaten by weaklings like you.' This statement shocks the Baratie cooks, who tremble in fear with their teeth chattering. Gin looks surprised by Luffy's audacity. As Luffy stands confidently next to Sanji, the terrified cooks yell, 'T-they just called us weaklings and told our commander off! We're the Krieg Pirates, the strongest pirate crew in all of East Blue!'

A sudden, massive crash off-screen sends the Baratie cooks tumbling in panic. A booming voice calls out, 'Weren't you guys just the biggest pirate crew?' Luffy looks toward the source of the noise and remarks, 'Right on the target, huh. Guess I was right.' Sanji continues to smoke calmly. The cooks, recovering from the shock, yell at Luffy in terror, 'You idiot! Don't provoke them any more! You're still up against Don Krieg! His strength's the real thing! That dimwit...!' Zeff watches the commotion with a stern expression.

The panicked Baratie cooks draw their weapons, shouting, 'That's it! Let's kill them ourselves!' Suddenly, a massive gust of wind sweeps across the wreckage as Don Krieg swings his weapon, yelling, 'Step back, all of you!' The force of the swing startles Gin and Zeff. Krieg sits heavily on a broken mast, his large armor glinting. The cooks cower in fear, stammering, 'D-Don Krieg...!' and 'But they...' Krieg looks down menacingly and states, 'A person who gets angry just for being called weak, is indirectly admitting that he's weak.'

A close-up of Don Krieg shows him smiling with a sinister, confident grin. 'The final result is what decides who's strong and who's not. I'm still standing here so don't you start whining for nothing,' he declares. His crew immediately salutes him, shouting, 'Yes, Don! Of course, Don!' The Baratie cooks watch in awe, whispering among themselves, 'Talk about leadership... His title "Don" as the Fleet Admiral of 50 ships isn't just for show.' Krieg then points directly at Luffy and challenges him, 'You there, brat. Who do you think is more fit to become the Pirate King? You or me...?'

Luffy points to himself with a serious, unwavering expression and simply answers, 'Me.' Sanji, sweating slightly, warns Luffy, 'Hey! Don't egg him on any further!' Luffy looks back, confused, and asks, 'Why?' Don Krieg's reaction is immediate; veins bulge on his forehead as he clenches his fist in anger. He commands his men, 'Alright, move it men.' The crew reacts in absolute shock and terror, exclaiming, 'It can't be...!'

Don Krieg stands up, revealing a massive shield attached to his arm, adorned with a skull and hourglass symbol. He declares, 'It's time to teach that dreamer brat over there, the true meaning of "strength"...' The sight of the shield sends his crew into a complete panic, with one yelling, 'It's... The MH5!' Gin looks horrified and reaches out, pleading, 'Wha... Don, wait!' Luffy, observing the commotion, looks confused and utters, 'Huh?'

The Baratie cooks in the water panic, repeating, 'MH... 5...?' Luffy remains unfazed, stating, 'If it's just a cannonball, I'll just bounce it back you know!' Gin desperately pleads with Krieg, 'Please, Don! Allow me to kill this man with my own h...' Krieg cuts him off coldly, 'Whether you kill him or I do, the result is the same.' Krieg aims the shield, which now has a barrel extending from it, and says, 'You know that there's nothing I hate more, than foolishly naive things like "honour" or "compassion." Listen well. This is a battle we're in. And in a battle, you fight to win.'

The front of Don Krieg's shield opens up, revealing a firing mechanism. He yells, 'So all you have to do is win! Even if it means using a poison gas bomb!' Gin screams in horror, 'Don!' Sanji reacts with shock, 'P-poison gas!?' Krieg grins evilly, explaining, 'One whiff of this'll be enough to render your entire body immobile.' With a loud blast, Krieg fires the weapon from his shield, shouting, 'This is "strength"!'

Panic ensues as the Baratie cooks scramble to escape. 'Crap! Dive into the sea!' they yell, plunging into the water while Zeff watches grimly. A projectile shoots out from Krieg's weapon, flying towards the Baratie. 'It's coming!' someone shouts. Sanji yells at Luffy, 'You idiot! Come back!' But Luffy runs directly towards the incoming projectile with a wide grin, declaring, 'Hmph! I'll just knock it down into the sea!'

Don Krieg smirks confidently, muttering, 'Heh...' as Luffy leaps into the air towards the projectile. 'I ain't afraid of a little poison gas...' Luffy says as he prepares to kick it. However, as his foot makes contact, the shell bursts open, revealing not gas, but a barrage of sharp, shuriken-like spikes spinning rapidly. Gin, watching in horror, yells, 'No, that's not it!'

The shell explodes, sending a deadly shower of large, star-shaped shrapnel spikes in all directions. Sanji leaps back to dodge the flying blades, crying out, 'Aghhh!' Luffy is caught in the blast, tumbling backward onto the deck as spikes embed themselves around him. The cooks in the water watch in shock, yelling, 'What is this!?' and 'Shrapnel!?' Luffy sits up, clutching his head in pain, 'Owwwww! A shrapnel shell!?' One of the cooks realizes, 'It was just a trick!'

Don Krieg laughs uproariously at the deception. 'Huh!? Wasn't it supposed to be a poison gas bomb!? A little slow on the uptake, don'cha think!? A single poison gas bomb is enough to entirely wipe out a small town. As if I'd waste it to kill you two pieces of trash! Ha ha ha!' Sanji and Luffy recover from the attack. Sanji remarks, 'I see. He got me good.' Zeff, watching from a distance, thinks, 'Why the hell's he agreeing with him?' Krieg continues his tirade, 'This is what a battle is! I've got more ways to kill you than I can count! Now I'll ask you again! Which one of us do you think is more fit to become Pirate King!?'

Luffy stands up, his expression fierce and determined. 'Me! It definitely can't be you!' he shouts back at Krieg. Krieg glares angrily and commands, 'Gin! You're responsible for killing that cook! But I'll kill this brat, myself!' The Baratie cooks, still treading water, look on in terror, trembling as they say, 'D-Don Krieg is really pissed off!'

Sanji and Gin face each other once more on the ruined deck. Gin acknowledges his captain's order, 'Understood, Don.' He then addresses Sanji, 'Sorry, Sanji... But you can't win against me.' Sanji, lighting a fresh cigarette, smirks and replies, 'Haha... Took the words right out of my mouth.' Gin readies his tonfas, spinning them menacingly as the tension between the two combatants rises.

Don Krieg glares at Luffy, declaring, 'Damn brat... I'll demonstrate to you the might of the ruler of East Blue. You'll know soon enough that your strange power is meaningless before me.' Luffy cracks his knuckles, unfazed. 'Keep talking. I'll send you flying either way.' Krieg laughs mockingly, 'Hahaha... So you're stupid enough to try and come over here again, are you? I'll come on over there right now so wash your face and sit tight.' Luffy stands ready, watching Krieg from across the broken mast.

The Krieg Pirates cheer for their commander, yelling, 'Kill him, Gin!' Gin charges rapidly towards Sanji, shouting, 'Here I come!' Sanji notices the incoming attack, uttering a brief 'Hm?' before Gin swings his heavy tonfa down. The weapon smashes brutally into Sanji's side with a loud crash, breaking through his guard and throwing him off balance. Sanji cries out, 'Woah!' as the impact sends him reeling.

Sanji is sent flying backward from the force of Gin's blow, cursing, 'Damn you!' He crashes onto the wooden deck. Gin stands over him, his expression cold and merciless. 'Allow me to tell you my nickname,' Gin says, looking down at the fallen cook. '"The Demon." I don't have a shred of sympathy for you anymore. So long.' Sanji lies on the ground, looking up at Gin as the chapter ends.
