SOLUTION

At the damaged Baratie restaurant, Sanji stands on the deck facing a man with a striped headband. Speech bubbles read: “NO, THEY CAN'T.” “BUT IT SEEMS THINGS CAN'T BE THAT WAY.” “SANJI, I WANTED YOU TO LEAVE THIS SHIP WITHOUT HURTING YOU.” In close-up the headband-wearing man declares, “THAT'S THE SOLUTION I'VE ARRIVED AT.” and “SO THEN THE LEAST I COULD DO IS KILL YOU MYSELF...” Sanji leans in, cigarette lit, and replies coldly, “NOW KINDLY EAT SHIT AND DIE.” The man answers with a faint smile, “...HA. WHY, THANK YOU.” A small “Light” effect appears near the cigarette.

Luffy faces forward with wide eyes and declares, "NAH, IT'S NOT AS IF I COULD EVER BE BEATEN BY WEAKLINGS LIKE YOU." He turns to glance back at the tall man in the striped headband and dark suit. The man replies, "IT WOULD'VE BEEN BEST FOR YOU TO LEAVE WITH YOUR CREWMATES EARLIER," then adds, "YOU TOO, STRAWHAT." A sudden outburst erupts from the Krieg Pirates behind them; several crewmen flail and shout in shock with loud SFX "ギギギ!!" and impact lines. The headband-wearing commander glares with narrowed eyes and a sweat drop. In the wide lower panel Luffy stands calmly while one of the pirates yells, "WE'RE THE KRIEG PIRATES, THE STRONGEST PIRATE CREW IN ALL OF EAST BLUE!" Another stammers, "T-THEY JUST CALLED US WEAKLINGS AND TOLD OUR COMMANDER OFF!"

A massive impact sends several Krieg Pirates flying through the air amid huge SFX "ずどん!!" and "ん!!!" One pirate screams "!!!!I" while another is hurled backward. In the background Luffy and the suited man stand watching. Luffy turns slightly and says, "GUESS I WAS RIGHT." The suited man answers, "RIGHT ON THE TARGET, HUH." Nearby pirates react with sweat drops and nervous expressions, one muttering "ロロ…" and "ロロ…" The bottom panels show Baratie cooks, including a large chef with a chain and a tall cook in a hat, laughing and shouting "HAHA!" and "THAT DIMWIT…!!" One warns, "YOU'RE STILL UP AGAINST DON KRIEG!" while another yells, "YOU IDIOT! DON'T PROVOKE THEM ANY MORE!"

Panic erupts among the Krieg Pirates as several crewmen clutch their heads and scream in despair. "LET'S KILL OURSELVES!" one yells while another shouts "THAT'S IT!" amid heavy impact lines and sweat drops. In the next panel a striped-hatted pirate with a massive blade glares and roars, "STEP BACK, ALL OF YOU!" as motion lines streak across the deck. A close-up shows Don Krieg's armored figure hunched, the narration noting he is indirectly admitting weakness. A voice declares, "A PERSON WHO GETS ANGRY JUST FOR BEING CALLED WEAK." Another pirate stammers, "BUT THEY... D-DON KRIEG...!" as the crew recoils in shock.

Don Krieg's face fills the frame, eyes narrowed and teeth bared in a fierce grin. "I'M STILL STANDING HERE SO DON'T YOU START WHINING FOR NOTHING," he growls. "THE FINAL RESULT IS WHAT DECIDES WHO'S STRONG AND WHO'S NOT." On the deck below, his subordinates bow their heads. "OF COURSE, DON!" one replies while another affirms, "YES, DON!" Krieg continues, "WHO DO YOU THINK IS MORE FIT TO BECOME THE PIRATE KINGI YOU OR ME...I" A subordinate adds, "YOU THERE, BRAT." Another crewman notes, "HIS TITLE 'DON' AS THE FLEET ADMIRAL OF 50 SHIPS ISN'T JUST FOR SHOW." A final voice mutters, "TALK ABOUT LEADERSHIP..."

Luffy stands with arms crossed, eyes wide in shock as a massive exclamation mark looms behind him. He blurts out, "ME." At the restaurant counter, Luffy turns and demands, "WHYI" Sanji, standing nearby with a stern expression, snaps back, "HEY! DON'T EGG HIM ON ANY FURTHER!" The Krieg Pirates react in panic. One shouts, "IT CAN'T BE...!" Their bandaged leader clenches his fist and orders, "ALRIGHT, MOVE IT MEN." A sharp cracking sound effect "ピキ..." rings out as the commander glares forward with intense eyes and gritted teeth, exclamation marks emphasizing his fury.

Don Krieg looms large, raising his massive skull-emblazoned shield as he declares, "IT'S TIME TO TEACH THAT DREAMER BRAT OVER THERE, THE TRUE MEANING OF 'STRENGTH'..." Below, the Baratie staff and patrons react in horror. "THE MH5!" one cries out. Another yells, "IT'S..." Luffy stands confused and asks, "HUHI" A Krieg Pirate lunges forward desperately, shouting, "WHA... DON, WAIT!" Sanji watches from the background with a tense expression.

Luffy stands confidently on the deck, declaring, "IF IT'S JUST A CANNONBALL, I'LL JUST BOUNCE IT BACK YOU KNOW!" Nearby crew members react with surprise, one muttering "S...I" while another grunts "MH...". Don Krieg, armored and stern, states coldly, "WHETHER YOU KILL HIM OR I DO, THE RESULT IS THE SAME." A desperate voice pleads from the side, "PLEASE, DON'T ALLOW ME TO KILL THIS MAN WITH MY OWN H..." Krieg continues his lecture: "LISTEN WELL. THIS IS A BATTLE WE'RE IN. AND IN A BATTLE, YOU FIGHT TO WIN. YOU KNOW THAT THERE'S NOTHING I HATE MORE THAN FOOLISHLY NAIVE THINGS LIKE 'HONOUR' OR 'COMPASSION.'"

Don Krieg reveals his deadly weapon, a massive skull-emblazoned shield loaded with bombs, declaring, "EVEN IF IT MEANS USING A POISON GAS BOMB!" and "SO ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS WIN!" He explains, "ONE WHIFF OF THIS'LL BE ENOUGH TO RENDER YOUR ENTIRE BODY IMMOBILE." A shocked voice cries out "DON!" followed by "P-POISON GAS!I" Krieg activates the device with a massive blast, SFX erupting as "パカッ！" and "ゴゴゴゴ..." fill the air. He proclaims, "THIS IS 'STRENGTH!'" as the poison gas bomb detonates violently.

Panic erupts on the Baratie deck as the massive cannonball hurtles toward the floating restaurant. A voice yells, "CRAP! DIVE INTO THE SEA!" while nearby cooks react with shock. "はっ！" one shouts as the projectile draws closer. "IT'S COMING!" another cries out. Luffy stands firm on the wooden planks, glaring at the incoming threat. "YOU IDIOT! COME BACK!" Sanji shouts desperately from behind him. Luffy smirks confidently and declares, "HMPH! I'LL JUST KNOCK IT DOWN INTO THE SEA!" The enormous spiked cannonball, fired from the Krieg Pirates' ship, looms larger against the restaurant's structure as impact lines and debris fill the air.

Luffy leaps high into the air above the damaged dock, feet visible as he closes in on the spinning cannonball. A close-up shows Gin smirking, "HEH..." while thinking, "I AIN'T AFRAID OF A LITTLE POISON GAS..." The cannonball suddenly erupts in a massive explosion of spikes, springs, and shrapnel. "!!!!I" Gin reacts in shock. "NO, THAT'S NOT IT!" he shouts as the trap mechanism activates violently around Luffy.

Explosions rip across the battlefield as black star-shaped shrapnel tears through the air. A massive blast hurls figures backward while cries of AGHHH! ring out. In the next panels, a fighter is slammed to the ground amid flying debris as someone shouts WHAT IS THIS!I SHRAPNEL! More shrapnel shells detonate, sending pirates sprawling. IT WAS JUST A TRICK! A SHRAPNEL SHELL!I one yells in shock. Luffy, crouched low in his straw hat, winces as fragments strike him, grunting OWWWWW! UGH!

Don Krieg looms in close-up, roaring AS IF I'D WASTE IT TO KILL YOU TWO PIECES OF TRASH! A SINGLE POISON GAS BOMB IS ENOUGH TO ENTIRELY WIPE OUT A SMALL TOWN. Nearby, Luffy and another figure react in surprise: HUH!I WASN'T IT SUPPOSED TO BE A POISON GAS BOMB!I A LITTLE SLOW ON THE UPTAKE, DON'CHA THINK!I Krieg laughs HA HA HA! From behind, an observer wonders WHY THE HELL'S HE AGREEING WITH HIMI Another notes HE GOT ME GOOD. I SEE. Krieg then bellows NOW I'LL ASK YOU AGAIN! WHICH ONE OF US DO YOU THINK IS MORE FIT TO BECOME PIRATE KING!I THIS IS WHAT A BATTLE IS! I'VE GOT MORE WAYS TO KILL YOU THAN I CAN COUNT!

Luffy stares forward with wide eyes and shouts, "IT DEFINITELY CAN'T BE YOU!" A second bubble adds, "ME!" The scene shifts to the damaged Baratie deck where Gin stands with his back to the viewer, declaring, "YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE FOR KILLING THAT COOK!" A furious close-up of Don Krieg's face snarls the name "GIN!" Below, shocked cooks react as one yells, "D-DON KRIEG IS REALLY PISSED OFF!" Luffy points at himself and insists, "MYSELF!" From the far side of the deck Don Krieg looms and growls, "BUT I'LL KILL THIS BRAT," while heavy impact sound effects rumble across the planks.

A towering figure in a black suit stands with his back to the reader as Gin, blindfold still in place, answers with crossed arms, "UNDERSTOOD, DON." The large SFX "グォオオオ" shakes the air. In a closer shot Sanji smirks, cigarette in hand, and says, "TOOK THE WORDS RIGHT OUT OF MY MOUTH." He laughs, "HAHA..." Gin replies firmly, "BUT YOU CAN'T WIN AGAINST ME," then adds with a slight bow, "SORRY, SANJI..." while reaction lines and tension marks fill the panel.

On the deck of the damaged ship, Monkey D. Luffy stands with one hand on his straw hat, glaring at Don Krieg. Luffy declares, "I'll send you flying either way." Krieg sneers back, "Keep talking. You'll know soon enough that your strange power is meaningless before me. Damn brat... I'll demonstrate to you the might of the ruler of East Blue." Luffy turns away, raising a hand in a casual wave as he says, "I'll come on over there right now so wash your face and sit tight." Krieg bursts into laughter, "Hahaha... so you're stupid enough to try and come over here again, are youI" Large impact sound effects and motion lines emphasize the tense standoff between the two.

Chaos erupts as Krieg's crew reacts in panic. Several pirates shout "KILL HIM, GIN!" while Gin lunges forward with a fierce cry of "HERE I COME!" A massive spiked weapon swings through the air.
