The World You Wish For

The final clash continues in the skies above Onigashima. A caption asks, "A fierce Haki clash!! Who will prevail...?" Luffy and Kaido strain against each other, Luffy screaming as his giant fist presses down and Kaido's blazing dragon body rises to meet it. Kaido acknowledges the attack with "Well played!!" and tells Luffy, "I have to hand it to you for coming this far... but...!! You'll never be able to change the world!!" The page frames Kaido's last resistance as more than strength. He accepts Luffy's power but refuses to believe Luffy has the ability to remake the world that Kaido has dominated through violence.

Kaido's mind flashes back to his youth. At only ten years old, in the Kingdom of Vodka forty-six years ago, he was already praised as the strongest soldier around, with warriors saying, "He did it!!" and that they were still itching for more. The kingdom's leaders explain that their nation has no choice but to wage war because the loot from conquest is their only way to pay the Celestial Tribute; if they fail, they will lose their standing in the world. Kaido asks why the Celestial Dragons get to boss them around, then is offered up for navy enlistment and a seat at the next Reverie. Furious, he shouts that he is not a political bargaining chip.

Kaido's early legend grows through escapes and violence. He escapes from a Marine prison ship, leaving people shouting, "Kaido escaped!!" and wondering whether he really escaped again after they already caught him. Someone remarks that a prison ship is not a buffet and that he only gets caught when he is hungry. Forty-four years ago on Pirate Island Fullalead, Kaido's strength shocks everyone. People ask who this kid is and how he can only be fifteen. He then meets Whitebeard, who says, "Hey, brat! You wanna be a pirate? Rocks wants to meet you. What will you do?" Kaido joins the Rocks Pirates, and soon word spreads that they are unstoppable and heading to God Valley.

The flashback reaches the fall of Rocks. Pirates scream that the Rocks have fallen and ask whether all the monsters on that crew really lost, with someone saying they heard a Marine called Garp beat them. Others argue that their infighting did them in because none of them were team players. Ten years later, Kaido is known as the "embodiment of brutality." Kurozumi Higurashi says that if one studies history, humans have always resorted to brutality to solve the world's problems, and Kaido agrees, saying that weapons shape the world they live in. Higurashi proposes that everything should revolve around the former members of the Rocks crew, while Kaido hardens into his belief that survival of the fittest is true nature.

Kaido declares the ideal of his coming empire: "Let's show all those 'peace loving' nobles... the hellish reality of war!!" He says a person's worth can only truly be gauged in battle, where everyone is equal and anarchy reigns free. In a quieter flashback, King tells Kaido that Yamato mentioned Joy Boy but is not sure what brought her to his name. King says Oden apparently wanted to open Wano to welcome Joy Boy. Kaido answers, "If Joyboy is the same man that you're waiting for, King... then I know who he is." When King asks who that is, Kaido's statement hangs over the present battle, linking the name Joy Boy to whoever can finally defeat him.

The present resumes with Onigashima still falling. The sound of the clash rattles the sky while Yamato shouts, "Luffy will win...!! I know it!!" and urges, "Do it, Momonosuke-kun!!" Momo, desperate, calls, "Come forth, flame clouds!! Obey me!!" Inside the live floor of the dome, people scream as rubble and water crash around them, while the Flower Capital continues its festival below, unaware of the disaster overhead. The page places everyone between faith and catastrophe: Yamato trusts Luffy, Momo must command the flame clouds at last, and the people inside Onigashima are running out of time.

Raizo and Jinbe's rescue floods the dome. A huge wave sweeps through the live floor, and someone asks, "What is that racket?!" Jinbe declares, "The water of Zou shall save everyone!!" People are washed away and scream for help, while Robin and others are carried by the current. Chopper asks whether it is water, and more fighters tumble through the flood. The double-page scene turns the disaster in the burning castle into a mass evacuation by force: the water that Raizo stored from Zou and Jinbe guided through the castle now becomes the thing that keeps the trapped allies and enemies from burning alive.

The flood rushes through the treasure repository on the second floor. People shout, "Kyah!!" and "Osome-chan!!" while others ask where the water came from and warn, "Careful! You're gettin' washed away!!" Hiyori watches in shock as Denjiro tells her, "You've done well... really well... to have endured this for so many moons...!!" He honors her survival and patience after years as Komurasaki under Orochi's rule. The page gives Hiyori a moment of recognition after Denjiro cut down Orochi: while the raid's chaos sweeps through the castle, Denjiro quietly acknowledges the long burden she carried alone.

Onigashima's danger becomes visible to everyone. People inside scream, "The island!! Isn't it falling?!" Yamato realizes the flame clouds are gone and cries, "Not good!!" Momo panics that Onigashima is going to crash. At the same time, Kaido, still fighting Luffy, asks, "Straw Hat!! What kind of world do you wish to make?!" The page brings every thread to the edge: the old flame clouds have vanished, the island is dropping, Momo has not yet succeeded, and Kaido demands that Luffy say what world he is trying to create before the deciding blow lands.

Momo finally produces new flame clouds, screaming, "Flame clouds... appear!!" as Onigashima drops. Luffy answers Kaido's question while his fist forces through the blazing dragon defense: "A world where... my friends... can eat... as much as they like!!" The words unfold across the impact, simple and absolute. After all the history of Wano's poisoned rivers, starving villages, and stolen crops, Luffy's ideal is not a throne or an ideology. It is food, safety, and freedom for his friends and the people who have suffered under Kaido and Orochi.

Luffy's Bajrang Gun finally breaks through. He shouts, "That's my kind of world!!!" as the giant fist drives Kaido downward with overwhelming force. Kaido's eye widens and his dragon body is smashed through the sky, while the impact sends him plummeting toward the earth below. Lanterns from the Flower Capital continue rising in the side panels, their wishes floating beneath the battle. The page resolves Kaido's challenge with a physical answer and a moral one: Luffy's dream of a world where friends can eat freely proves stronger than Kaido's world of war, weapons, and domination.

Onigashima lands beside the Flower Capital with a heavy "Thud" instead of crashing into it, while Kaido falls deep into the ground below. The chapter ends with the opposite implication: Luffy has beaten Kaido, Momo has saved Onigashima from crushing the capital, and the hope carried for twenty years has finally begun to materialize.
