800 LIES

Outside a large mansion, Klahadore sits on the ground with his back to the group. Usopp and the Usopp Pirates face him while Kaya watches from an upstairs window. Klahadore says, “CAPTAIN …!!” In close-up, Usopp shouts angrily, “DON’T TWIST THE TRUTH… YOU SAID PIRATES ARE ‘BRAVE WARRIORS OF THE SEA’I” Klahadore replies with a smirk, adjusting his glasses, “THAT YOU LIKE TO LIE SO MUCH! IT’S BECAUSE YOU HAVE THAT KIND OF SAVAGE BLOODLINE … AND USE VIOLENCE WHENEVER YOU ARE ENRAGED …”

Klahadore continues, “THE FACT THAT YOUR FATHER IS A PIRATE IS MORE THAN ENOUGH REASON FOR ME TO KICK YOU OUT! WHO CARES WHAT YOUR MOTIVE IS.” Usopp grabs Klahadore by the collar and yells, “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT! I DARE YOU TO SAY THAT AGAIN!” SFX: GRAB!! Kaya bursts through the door, shouting desperately, “USOPP-SAN, PLEASE STOP!!! PLEASE DON’T USE VIOLENCE …!!!”

Usopp still grips Klahadore’s collar. Klahadore says calmly, “ISN’T A BAD PERSON … CLAHA-DOR… GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!” and slaps Usopp’s hand away. He continues, “THAT’S WHY HE’S A LITTLE EXTREME … HE’S JUST CONCERNED ABOUT ME…” Usopp’s friends watch from the background. Kaya pleads with her hand raised, “PLEASE DON’T COME HERE AGAIN!” Klahadore glares and declares, “I’LL LET YOU OFF THIS TIME, BUT I WARN YOU… DON’T COME HERE AGAIN! SAVAGES LIKE YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE!”

On a quiet village street, Klahadore stands with his back to the group as Usopp's voice cries out, "CAPTAIN........!!" The butler whirls around, furious, and snaps, "I'LL NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN!" A close-up shows his glaring face as he adds, "I'LL LEAVE EVEN WITHOUT YOU TELLING ME TO! FINE... I UNDERSTAND..." The three Usopp Pirates—Ninjin, Piiman, and Tamanegi—erupt in outrage, shouting "WHY ARE YOU SCREAMING ALONG WITH THEMI BAAAKA!! BAAAKA!! YEAH! STUPID! YOU BASTARD! CAPTAIN IS NOT THAT KIND OF PERSON!" while Luffy stands among them with an angry expression. From a window, Kaya watches sadly and whispers, "USOPP-SAN..." Klahadore's face twists with rage as he bellows, "ALL OF YOU, GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE NOW!" The kids charge forward yelling "HEY HEY! I'M GONNA KILL HIM! YAAAAAAA-AAAAAH!" while Klahadore looms over them in fury.

Inside a bedroom, Kaya lies weakly in bed under the covers, coughing repeatedly as a knock sounds at the door: "KNOCK KNOCK..." Klahadore enters carrying a tray and announces, "OJOUSAMA, IT'S LUNCH TIME." Kaya turns away, murmuring, "IT DOESN'T TASTE GOOD. I DON'T WANT TO EAT... I DON'T WANT IT!" She coughs again as Klahadore stands by the door and replies calmly, "HE TRIED HARD TO COME UP WITH SOME FOOD SUITED FOR YOUR HEALTH, OJOUSAMA. DON'T SAY THAT, THE CHEF IS GONNA GET MAD!"

Kaya sits up in bed and admits softly, "SECRETLY TALKING TO USOPP-SAN, IS MY FAULT... BUT YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE CHASED HIM AWAY LIKE THAT... I KNOW I KEPT IT FROM YOU, WHY DID YOU HAVE TO SAY IT LIKE THATI" Klahadore stands nearby with a sweat drop, responding, "PLEASE MAY I SITI" He sits on the floor beside the bed and begins, "I'VE BEEN IN THIS HOUSE... FOR THREE YEARS NOW. I CAN NEVER FORGET WHAT HAPPENED THAT DAY..."

Klahadore continues his story with a flashback panel showing a cloaked figure walking away from a ship three years ago. He explains, "THREE YEARS AGO, I WAS WORKING ON A SHIP. BECAUSE OF A SMALL MISTAKE, I WAS FIRED... AFTERWARDS, I GOT LOST WANDERING AND ENDED UP IN THIS VILLAGE." Kneeling before Kaya's bed, he adds, "TO ME, YOUR LATE PARENTS WERE MY SAVIORS. I DIDN'T HAVE ANY MONEY, AND DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, BUT YOUR DAD TOOK ME IN... IF HE HADN'T DONE THAT, I WOULD BE DEAD NOW." Turning toward Kaya with a serious expression, he finishes, "...IS NONE OF THIS LOWLY SERVANT'S BUSINESS... I KNOW INTERFERING WITH YOU MAKING FRIENDS... ARE MY SAVIORS' DAUGHTER... AND YOU..."

Klahadore clutches his head in anguish, sweat pouring down as he cries, "I WOULD FEEL LIKE I HAD BETRAYED YOUR PARENTS! IF... IF ANYTHING HAPPENED TO YOU..." In the bedroom, he kneels beside Kaya's bed, continuing, "HE HAS A BAD REPUTATION IN THE VILLAGE... BUT THAT USOPP GUY..." Kaya sits up, replying softly, "...NO, I DON'T HATE YOU... DO YOU HATE ME BECAUSE OF ITI" Klahadore turns away at the desk, admitting, "I KNOW THAT WHAT I SAID BEFORE WAS A LITTLE EXTREME..." Kaya smiles gently and says, "SO WHAT IF I DON'T LISTEN!I YOU... WHY WON'T YOU LISTEN TO MY EXPLANATION!I THAT DOESN'T MATTER. USOPP-SAN IS NOT A BAD PERSON AT ALL! BUT YOU MISUNDERSTOOD HIM. I SHOULD THANK YOU FOR TAKING CARE OF ME," as Klahadore stands stiffly with "DEAF...!!" written beside him.

Outside the village, the Usopp Pirates sit by a fence as one asks, "HE WENT CHASING THAT CAPTAIN! WHERE'S LUFFYI" The group discusses, "NAH... GOING TO CHECK IT OUTI EVERYTIME SOMETHING HAPPENS, HE ALWAYS GOES THERE! YES! AT THE SHORE THE CAPTAIN MUST BE THERE! YEAH! AND HE OFTEN MAKES TONS OF NOISE WHEN HE SHOWS UP! HE OFTEN SUDDENLY DISAPPEARS! OH! TAMANEGI, RIGHTI HEY, WHERE'S YOUR OTHER BUDDYI" The kids look around the quiet streets and fence line, puzzled by the sudden absence.

Luffy comes running wildly toward the viewer with speed lines, shouting "THERE'S A MAN THAT'S......BACKWARDS!!" and "BAD NEWS! HAAAH! HUF HUF!" while the panel erupts with "だだだだ". In the background, Tamanegi runs screaming "WAAAAH WAAAAAH THIS IS BAD! WAAAAH WAAAAAH AH! IT'S TAMANEGI!" The kids react in shock: "I LOOK! IT'S TRUE! LIAR! THERE'S A WEIRD GUY, HE WALKS BACKWARDS!!!" A mysterious figure in a black hat and coat walks calmly away down the village road with musical notes "♪♪" trailing behind him.

The man in the black hat and heart-shaped sunglasses spins dramatically, declaring "I DON'T LOOK WEIRD AT ALL! HEY! WHO SAID I'M A WEIRD GUYI" as motion lines and "どどん" emphasize his pose. He continues, "SHUT UP! I'M JUST A HYPNOTIST PASSING BY... YES YOU ARE! ANY WAY I LOOK AT IT, YOU LOOK WEIRD!" The Usopp Pirates stare in surprise, asking "WHATI! YEAH! SHOW US! CAN YOU SHOW US YOUR SKILLSI HYPNOTISTI WOW!" A sign appears reading "HYPNOTIST JANGO" as the man strikes a dance pose with "ステッ..." and the kids watch eagerly from the fence.

Jango stands before the Usopp Pirates and other children, flashing a peace sign with heart-shaped sunglasses. "IDIOTS! YOU GUYS DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT A HYPNOTIST IS!" he declares. A voice protests, "THIS IS OUR FIRST MEETING, NO WAY I'M SHOWING YOU MY HYPNOTISM!" Another retorts, "YOU'RE SHOWING THEM ANYWAY!" Jango relents with a grin: "OK! YOU GUYS STARE AT THIS!" He swings his pendulum in wide arcs. "LET'S START! OOONE...." he intones. "I'LL SAY 'ONE, TWO, JANGO' AND YOU WILL ALL FALL ASLEEP!" The children stare, eyes glazing over. "HEY! WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOINGI" someone yells as they collapse in a heap with a loud "パタン!!" and soft "すか" impacts. Jango finishes, "JANGO... TWO....." The group lies motionless on the ground amid swirling "すや..." snores and "zzz... zzz..." sound effects.

Far from the village, a boy wearing a net-patterned headband sits alone under a tree by the shore. Distant "swoosh..." sounds echo across the waves. Suddenly Luffy bursts from the foliage with a loud "ドーン" impact. "IT'S YOU! WHY CAN'T YOU BE MORE NORMALI!" the boy shouts in shock. Luffy pops up right in his face: "WAAH! HI! THERE YOU ARE!" The boy startles, eyes wide: "AH....!I" In the next panel the boy stands on his hands, asking "IS YASOPP, RIGHTI YOUR DAD..." as Luffy stares in surprise.

The net-hatted boy and Luffy sit together on the grass with a third boy in a straw hat nearby. "REALLYI YOU KNOW MY DADI" the net-hatted boy asks. Luffy replies confidently, "I'VE KNOWN HIM SINCE I WAS A KID!" "YUP!" the straw-hatted boy confirms. When asked how he knows that, Luffy simply answers "DUNNO." The net-hatted boy presses, "WHERE IS HE NOWI" then realizes with wide eyes, "YOU LOOK JUST LIKE HIM... NO WONDER I THOUGHT YOU LOOKED FAMILIAR... I JUST REALIZED THAT A MOMENT AGO." Luffy beams with a huge grin: "YASOPP IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PIRATES IN THAT CREW! BUT, I'M PRETTY SURE HE IS ON SHANKS THE RED-HAIRED'S SHIP!"

Luffy's eyes bulge in shock. "WHYI YOU KNOW SHANKSI SHANKS THE RED-HAIRED!I" he yells as "びくっ!!" and "カバーン" sound effects explode around him. The two boys sit calmly; one remarks, "SHANKS' SHIP HUHI SO HE IS ON THAT RED-HAIRED..." The net-hatted boy continues, "YASOPP NEVER MISSES ANYTHING WITHIN HIS RANGE. GREAT...!I YEAH... HIS SHOOTING SKILL IS THE BEST." The afro-haired man appears, declaring proudly, "IS MY DAD REALLY ON THAT GREAT SHIPI OF COURSE! HE IS A GREAT PIRATE! OF COURSE! EVEN IF IT'S BETWEEN THE EYES OF AN ANT, I CAN STILL SHOOT IT!" He fires his slingshot with a massive "ズドォン!!" blast while Luffy watches in awe, shouting "WOW! AMAZING!"

At a lively tavern table, a bandana-wearing man with curly hair recounts Yasopp's past to a wide-eyed Luffy. "I KNOW, YOU'VE TOLD ME A HUNDRED TIMES ALREADY!" Luffy protests as the man waves him off. "HE'S JUST ABOUT YOUR AGE... LUFFY, I HAVE A SON..." The storyteller gulps his drink with a loud GULP!! In flashback, the same man rages in the bar: "BECAUSE THE PIRATE FLAG WAS CALLING ME! THERE'S ONLY ONE REASON I HAD TO FORCE MYSELF TO LEAVE HIM!" Patrons cheer "YEEEAAH!!" as mugs fly. Back in the present, Luffy and the man grip each other emotionally while a girl watches. "I'M GONNA TELL IT... SO YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO IT NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES!" the storyteller insists. Luffy beams and declares, "YASOPP WAS A REALLY POPULAR PIRATE!" The girl smiles beside them as the man asks in surprise, "IS THAT REALLY TRUEI"

On a sunny shore, the checkered-hat girl stands with Luffy and continues, "BUT THAT BASTARD CLAHADOR LOOKED DOWN ON HIM HE LOOKED DOWN ON MY PRIDE! TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH, EVEN THOUGH HE LEFT ME FOR THE SEA, I'M ALWAYS PROUD OF MY DAD!" Luffy listens intently. The girl lies back laughing, "AND BEGS ME, THEN I'LL CONSIDER! DUNNO, MAYBE IF THAT BUTLER APOLOGIZES, ARE YOU GIVING UP SEEING THAT OJOUSAMAI" Luffy replies, "I DON'T LIKE HIM AT ALL!" and she answers "YUP!" Suddenly their expressions sharpen as they spot figures in the distance. "WHY IS HE HEREI" Luffy points while the girl gasps, "YEAH! THAT BUTLER... THAT BUTLERI"

Luffy and the girl hide behind a low wall, peering at two suited men on a cliff path. "I'VE NEVER SEEN HIM BEFORE, WHO IS HEI THERE'S A WEIRD-LOOKING GUY WITH HIM..." Luffy whispers. The girl wonders, "HOW CAN I ATTRACT ANY ATTENTIONI IT'S NOT LIKE I LOOK WEIRD OR SOMETHING!" Jango stands with his back turned as Klahadore scolds him, "JANGO, I TOLD YOU NOT TO DRAW THE ATTENTION OF THE VILLAGERS, WHY DID YOU SLEEP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREETI" A small note reads "EVERYBODY THINKS HE (JANGO) LOOKS WEIRD ^~;". In close-up, a long-haired woman with heart-shaped sunglasses declares, "WE CAN START OPERATION 'ASSASSINATE OJOUSAMA' ANY TIME!" Klahadore adjusts his glasses and replies, "OF COURSE! SO... ARE YOU ALL PREPARED FOR ITI" Luffy and the girl react in shock, eyes bulging, sweat flying: "WHAT!!I ASSASSINATE!!I"
