CAPTAIN KURO'S PLAN

On a rocky cliffside overlooking the sea, two men stand facing each other. One figure strikes a dramatic pose with one leg raised and declares, "AH! YEAH! ACCIDENT! WE'LL CALL IT AN ACCIDENT!" A second speech bubble adds, "ISN'T THAT RIGHT CAPTAIN KUROI" while another states, ""ASSASSINATE" IS SUCH AN UGLY WORD!" The man with glasses and a stern expression replies firmly, "YOU ARE THE CAPTAIN NOW!" The other man answers, "DON'T CALL ME BY THAT NAME AGAIN! CAPTAIN KURO.... I GAVE UP THAT NAME 3 YEARS AGO." In the lower panels, Luffy, a curly-haired man, and a straw-hatted figure hide behind a cliff edge, eavesdropping. The curly-haired man mutters, "I THINK I'VE HEARD THE NAME CAPTAIN KURO SOMEWHERE...." Luffy points and asks, "YOU HEARD THEM YOURSELF, WHY ARE YOU ASKING MEI" while the straw-hatted figure wonders, "HEY, WHAT ARE THOSE TWO TALKING ABOUTI" A thought bubble shows "........"

In a rocky cliffside clearing, two pirates argue heatedly. A man in a high-collared coat gestures sharply as he says, "BUT I HEARD HE GOT CAUGHT BY THE MARINES THREE YEARS AGO, AND GOT EXECUTED..." His companion with a net-patterned headpiece replies, "I THINK HE'S THE PIRATE FAMOUS FOR HIS CAREFUL PLANNING BEFORE ROBBING AND PLUNDERING..." Below, the scene shifts to the same rocky shore where a suited man stands listening. A smaller figure in a black outfit leaps and points upward, shouting, "YOU SAID YOU WERE GOING TO GIVE UP BEING A PIRATE, AND MADE ME THE CAPTAIN!" Jango, wearing heart-shaped sunglasses and a wide hat, clutches his face in shock: "IT SIMPLY SHOCKED ME... I STILL REMEMBER THAT DAY..." In the largest bottom panel, Jango spreads his arms wide while addressing the suited man in the background, declaring, "BUT ACTUALLY, YOU HID IN THIS LITTLE VILLAGE, AND TOLD US TO COME HERE IN THREE YEAR'S TIME" and "EVERYONE THINKS THAT CAPTAIN KURO HAS BEEN EXECUTED BY THE MARINES!"

The suited man stands with his back to the viewer on the cliff path while Jango sits on a rock, replying, "I CAN GET A GOOD SHARE THIS TIME RIGHTI" and "BEFORE, WHEN I WORKED FOR YOU, THERE WERE ALWAYS A LOT OF 'BENEFITS'. THAT'S THE ONLY REASON I WORKED FOR YOU!" In a close-up, Jango grins widely under his heart sunglasses as a large SFX "ドーン" (DO-N) erupts beside him; he says, "GOOD! LEAVE THAT GIRL TO ME!" The suited man, now shown in profile with glasses, answers simply, "YES! IF YOU SUCCEED, YOU'LL GET YOUR SHARE!" In the final panel the suited man extends his hand toward the seated Jango and warns, "YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE IT LOOKS LIKE AN ACCIDENT! KILLING HER IS NOT ENOUGH..."

Klahadore leans in with a sinister grin, his heart-shaped sunglasses glinting as he lays out the scheme. "...AND KILL THE OJOUSAMA, SIMPLE AS THAT! WHEN YOU SEND THE SIGNAL, WE'LL CHARGE INTO THE VILLAGE... THEN YOU CAN OPENLY CLAIM HER INHERITANCE." Jango, crouched on the rocks with his arms crossed, snaps back, "SHUT UP! I'M COMPLETELY READY! IT LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE NOT READY YET!" Jango gestures sharply while Klahadore adjusts his glasses. "WE CAN WORK ON IT! IT'S NO USE! THE MOST IMPORTANT PART IS..." Jango retorts, "I WONDER IF YOUR MOM ACTUALLY GAVE YOU A BRAIN! I HAVE NO RELATION TO HER FAMILY, HOW CAN THERE BE INHERITANCE FOR MEI" In a close-up, Klahadore points accusingly at the seated Jango, who sweats nervously. "I WILL LEAVE ALL MY WEALTH TO MY BUTLER, CLAHADOR." Klahadore continues, "BEFORE YOU KILL HER, YOU HAVE TO HYPNOTIZE HER... AND MAKE HER WRITE MY NAME INTO THE WILL!"

Klahadore stands tall with a confident smirk, hands clasped over his chest. "I'VE SPENT THREE YEARS GETTING EVERYONE TO TRUST ME, AND AS SOON AS SHE WRITES THE WILL, NO ONE WILL SUSPECT ME! THIS WAY, I CAN OPENLY... CLAIM HER WEALTH!" Jango sits on a rock in the rocky clearing, replying skeptically, "JUST FOR THIS YOU SPENT THREE YEARS BEING A BUTLER...I IF I WERE YOU, I WOULD HAVE JUST ROBBED THEM STRAIGHT ON! IF I HAD DONE THAT, I'D STILL BE AN OUTLAW, AND THE MARINES WOULD STILL BE CHASING ME!" In a close-up, Klahadore touches his temple with a sly smile. "I LIKE USING MY HEAD TO FIND A PEACEFUL WAY TO SETTLE THINGS! THIS PLAN CAN GET ME TONS OF MONEY, PLUS I WON'T HAVE THE MARINES CHASING ME!"

Klahadore glares angrily, shouting, "HEY! WHAT ENTIRE FAMILYI KAYA'S PARENTS DIED NATURALLY! THAT WAS OUTSIDE MY PLANS!" Jango bursts into laughter while lounging on a rock, retorting, "YOU MEAN MURDERING HER ENTIRE FAMILY IS A PEACEFUL WAYI HAHAHAHA! PEACEFUL WAY TO SETTLE THINGSI" The two continue arguing on the cliffside overlooking the sea. Jango points toward the water and states, "OUR SHIP HAS BEEN ANCHORED CLOSE BY... FOR ALMOST A WEEK!" Klahadore turns away, replying, "WHATEVER. LET'S NOT ARGUE OVER THIS. ANYWAYS, YOU JUST NEED TO SEND THE SIGNAL!" In the lower panels, hidden among the trees, several Black Cat Pirates watch with menacing grins. One declares, "THEY CAN'T HOLD BACK ANY LONGER...." SFX: BWAHAHAHAHA...

Luffy and Usopp peer over a grassy ledge in shock. Usopp yells, "OF COURSE IT DOESN'T LOOK GOOD! THEY'RE SERIOUS ABOUT THIS!" Luffy shouts, "HEY! WHAT'S GOING ONI THIS DOESN'T LOOK GOOD!" A close-up shows Usopp's horrified face as he thinks, "HORRIBLE... I'VE HEARD A HORRIBLE PLAN..." Usopp recalls, "AND I PUNCHED HIM BEFORE... HE'LL KILL ME FOR SURE! AND THAT BUTLER... NO! CAPTAIN KURO IS STILL ALIVE... SO, FOR THREE YEARS... THEY ALREADY LUSTED AFTER KAYA'S FAMILY WEALTH!" Luffy stands up in alarm. Usopp frantically warns, "DON'T STAND UP! THEY'LL SEE YOU!" Luffy panics, "NOT GOOD... NOT GOOD AT ALL!" Usopp concludes in terror, "KAYA WILL BE KILLED TOO! THE VILLAGE WILL BE UNDER ATTACK...." SFX: dramatic impact lines and sweat drops emphasize the panic.

Luffy bursts forward with arms spread wide, eyes bulging and mouth open in fury as impact lines explode around him. He roars, "DONT YOU DARE TOUCH THE OJOU-SAMA!!!!" A massive SFX "DO--N!!" shakes the panel. He then points straight ahead and shouts, "HEY! YOU TWO!!" In the next tier, a bandaged-nose man with a checkered headband sweats heavily, eyes wide in panic as his clawed hand is shown up close. Beside him, Jango in heart-shaped sunglasses raises a hand to his forehead in shock. Klahadore stands in profile, sweat on his cheek, and asks, "WHO IS ITI" A distant view shows the group on a grassy slope with trees under a cloudy sky.

Luffy stands with his back to the viewer as Usopp frantically grabs him from behind, yelling, "HIDE! THEY'LL KILL YOU!" and "YOU IDIOT!! THEY'LL SEE YOU!" Usopp's face twists in terror, shouting "HE SAW ME!" while dragging Luffy down with a loud "YAAAAAH!!" Klahadore turns slightly, recognizing him with a calm, "OH.... IT'S USOPP-KUN....." In the bottom tier, the bandaged man and Luffy react in panic as someone off-panel yells, "HEY!!" and "WE HEARD EVERYTHING!" Usopp screams, "NO! NOTHING AT ALL! WE JUST GOT HERE... REALLY...." while Klahadore leans in with a menacing close-up, asking, "DID YOU........HEAR ANYTHINGI" SFX include "SLAP!" and "DO--N" as the group struggles.

Jango holds up his pendulum and swings it before the two suited men on the cliff. "TAKE A LOOK AT THIS PENDULUM..." he says. "OH WELL... YOU GUYS..." one replies while the other stares silently. "HEARD EVERYTHING..." Jango continues. In the next panel Jango demonstrates the heart-shaped pendulum. "ONE... TWO..." he counts. "WHEN I SAY ONE, TWO, JANGO, YOU WILL FALL ASLEEP..." Luffy and Usopp watch in shock from the bushes. "AH! THAT! HE'S GOING TO USE THAT TO KILL US!!" Usopp cries. Luffy stares wide-eyed. "STARES... LOOK AT WHATI" The pendulum swings again as Jango commands, "JANGO". Luffy suddenly topples forward. "IDIOT, HURRY AND HIDE!" Usopp yells as Luffy crashes to the ground with a loud impact sound.

Kuro questions Jango, "YOU STILL HAVEN'T GOT RID OF THAT HABIT HAVE YOUI" as Jango stands with his pendulum. Luffy lies on the ground with "zzz....." above him while Usopp hides behind a tree. SFX: GU... A massive "ドゴォォン!!" explosion erupts as Luffy is blasted off the cliff edge, limbs flailing. Kuro watches calmly from the side. On the cliff face Luffy plummets. "WHAT ARE YOU DOINGI HEY! YOU'RE FALLING OVER!" Usopp shouts in panic. Close-ups show Luffy's terrified face with sweat drops and motion lines as he falls.

Kuro stands with his hand raised, declaring, "BROKEN NECK, I DON'T THINK THERE'S ANY HOPE!" and "DAMN, I DIDN'T WANNA KILL HIM..." Jango kneels beside the fallen body on the cliffside, shouting "HEY!! HEY, YOU!!" and asking "ARE YOU ALRIGHTI" Klahadore watches from a distance and coldly suggests, "WHAT ABOUT THAT ONEI KILL HIM TOOI" Usopp, bandana covering his head, stares in horror at the corpse and screams "YOU KILLED HIM! B... BAS-TARD!" A close-up shows Usopp's furious face with sweat drops and exclamation marks as Klahadore adjusts his glasses and states, "NO MATTER WHAT HE SAYS, NO ONE WILL EVER BELIEVE HIM!" while replying "DON'T NEED TO!"

Kuro continues outlining the scheme: "THEN KILL KAYA, THE OJOU-SAMA..." and "AND DESTROY SOME HOUSES, MAKE IT LOOK LIKE A PIRATE RAID." He orders Jango, "JANGO, TOMORROW MORNING... TAKE THE CREW TO ATTACK THE VILLAGE!" Usopp, hidden on the cliff, reacts with shock, "DAMN... I HATE YOU!" Klahadore smirks and tells him, "IT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER, YOU CAN'T AFFECT MY PLAN," then asks "DID YOU HEAR THAT, USOPP-KUNI" Jango lies on the ground and reassures Kuro, "DON'T WORRY, MY PLAN WON'T BE AFFECTED" and "YOU SURE IT'S OKAYI" while snoring "Z Z Z..." Usopp's face erupts in terror with a massive heartbeat sound effect "どっきゅん!!!" and a long scream "WAAAA-AAAAA-AAAAA-AAAAA-AAAAA-AAH!!!"

Usopp's face twists in anguish as he imagines the worst. "KAYA WILL BE KILLED TOO! THE VILLAGERS... WILL ALL BE KILLED... PEOPLE THAT I LOVE...." He sprints desperately through the village, sweat flying, thinking "THIS IS BAD! THIS IS BAD!" In a flashback-like panel he forces a wide grin and declares, "SO I'M HERE TO TALK TO YOU, TO CHEER YOU UP! I'VE HEARD ABOUT YOUR MISFORTUNE. I'M USOPP, BRAVE WARRIOR OF THE SEA..." A small figure at a window asks, "WHO... WHO ARE YOUI" Usopp grips the windowsill, eyes shadowed, and shouts, "I LOVE THIS VILLAGE!" SFX: TAP TAP TAP... He continues, "I JUST LIKE TO MIND OTHER PEOPLE'S BUSINESS!" Kaya, looking frightened, replies from inside, "DON'T BE SCARED," but Usopp panics further, yelling "I'M GONNA YELL FOR HELP!" Kaya snaps back angrily, "IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! GET OUT OF HERE!" SFX: TAP TAP TAP...

On the Going Merry, a crew member points and shouts, "AH! THAT'S THE CAPTAIN!" SFX: どひゅん!! Another asks, "WASN'T LUFFY WITH HIMI" From the shore a voice wonders, "HUHI THAT'S..." SFX: TAP TAP TAP... The group on the ship discusses the distant figure: "HE'S PANICKING, WHAT HAPPENEDI" "SOMETHING MUST HAVE HAPPENED AT THE SHORE!" "NO! HIS EXPRESSION IS DIFFERENT!" Kaya leans on the railing and asks, "WHO KNOWS. IS HE STILL MAD AT THE BUTLER FOR LOOKING DOWN ON HIS DADI" The three Usopp Pirates kids stand together, one asking, "ARE YOU GUYS DONEI HOW DO I GET THEREI" Another reports, "USOPP'S PIRATE GROUP IS MOVING! RIGHT! THAT HYPNOTIST WENT THAT WAY TOO A WHILE AGO!" A third adds, "I THINK SOMETHING BIG HAS HAPPENED!" A close-up shows a crew member asking the kids, "HEY KIDS, HOW DO I GET TO THE SHOREI"

Usopp bursts forward with a terrified expression, sweat flying as he clutches his head and screams at the top of his lungs, "PIRATES ARE COMING.....!!!!" and "BAD NEWS......!!!!" A distant villager runs down the empty street beneath a sign reading "BAD NEWS!!". In a wide village view, Usopp stands on a small cart in the middle of the road, arms raised, shouting "EVERYONE, EVACUATE......!" while a large speech bubble warns "PIRATES ARE GOING TO ATTACK THIS VILLAGE TOMORROW MORNING!". Inside a nearby building, several villagers react with annoyance. One man growls, "HE'S BEEN DOING IT A BIT TOO MUCH LATELY!" Another says, "HE'S GOING AT IT AGAIN!" A third adds, "JUST IGNORE HIM, PIRATES WON'T COME!" A woman notes, "IT'S THE SECOND TIME TODAY!" while a close-up shows an angry villager yelling, "DAMN! IT'S THAT BIG FAT LIAR AGAIN!"

Usopp desperately gestures toward the villagers, insisting "NO... IT'S THE TRUTH THIS TIME!" The crowd reacts angrily; one shouts "WE'LL TEACH YOU A LESSON TODAY!" while another yells "HEY USOPP, SHUT YOUR MOUTH!". A woman with curly hair crosses her arms and says, "IF YOU WERE AN HONEST MAN LIKE CLAHADOR, THEN MAYBE I'D BELIEVE YOU!" Usopp pleads again as a man retorts, "BUT THIS TIME IT'S THE TRUTH! BELIEVE ME!" and another adds, "I KNOW I JOKED AROUND BEFORE!" Villagers accuse him: "YOU'RE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF OUR TRUST!" and "YOU SAY THE SAME THING EVERY TIME!". In a dramatic close-up, Usopp screams with bulging eyes, "PIRATES WILL REALLY BE HERE TOMORROW!! PLEASE BELIEVE ME JUST THIS ONCE, RUN AWAY!" A small character sweats and mutters "THAT... BAS-TARD!!" while the man with glasses concludes coldly, "NO MATTER WHAT HE SAYS, NO ONE WILL EVER BELIEVE HIM!"

On the deck of a pirate ship flying the Black Cat skull flag, a man in a black suit addresses the crew with his back turned. "WHEN THIS PLAN IS THROUGH, WE'LL BE RICH FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES!" he declares. Another crew member replies, "YOU GUYS... THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HELP. WE HAVEN'T MET IN THREE YEARS." The pirates listen intently as the ship sails near a rocky cliff. Below, the crew erupts in cheers around their captain: "HAIL TO CAPTAIN KURO!" and "WOO-HOO YEAH YEAH!!" Captain Kuro, wearing glasses and a striped shirt, smirks confidently and states, "TOMORROW MORNING, WE'LL DESTROY THIS VILLAGE!" Elsewhere, two figures lie asleep on the ground with snoring bubbles reading "zzz..." Inside a house, a maid speaks to a young woman in a dress: "HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO THE NEXT TOWN." The young woman asks, "WHERE'S KLAHADORI" The maid responds with surprise, "OH..." The page ends with the caption "3 THINGS THAT YOU CAN'T LIE ABOUT (END)".
