In the ruins of Oden Castle in Wano Country's Kuri region, Kin'emon recalls the past. A narration box states: "THIS PLACE WAS CALLED ODEN CASTLE." Kin'emon explains: "THAT IS WHAT THE PEOPLE OF KURI CALLED THE CASTLE THAT ONCE STOOD HERE... BUT ACTUALLY, ITS REAL NAME WAS... KURI CASTLE." A young boy with a topknot shouts excitedly, "THAT'S RIGHT!! SO THAT WAS MOMO'S FATHER!" The scene shifts to a rundown interior where people gather. Narration continues: "THE CASTLE WAS CALLED AS SUCH. ODEN WAS BELOVED BY THE RESIDENTS OF KURI, AND THEREFORE..." A close-up shows a fierce man with dark hair declaring, "OUR MASTER, LORD ODEN, WAS QUITE THE WILDCARD..." Another voice adds, "HE GOT INTO VIOLENT FIGHTS ONE AFTER THE OTHER... AND WAS EVENTUALLY EXILED FROM THE FLOWER CAPITAL!!" Narration notes the lawless area at the time.

The story of Kuri continues. A young woman with light hair reacts with "!I" as narration describes the heinous place filled with criminals and ronin where blood was spilled daily. It reveals that the most dangerous man, Ashura Doji, was defeated by the young Lord Oden in a huge fight. Oden then rounded up the ruffians and raised them. A shocked young boy stares in disbelief. Later, Shogun Sukiyaki hears of Oden's deeds and bestows upon him the title of Daimyo of Kuri at age twenty. Oden forces the former criminals to learn productive work and builds a paradise farm where laughter fills the air. The final panels show Oden's triumphant figure overlooking the transformed land.

A close-up shows a fierce man with a black beard grinning as narration recounts Lord Oden's habit: "LORD ODEN HAD A HABIT OF SAYING THIS ONE THING: 'IT'S TOO CRAMPED HERE!!'" The voice continues, "HE CREATED RIVERS AND WHARFS... HE CONNECTED VILLAGES AND PEOPLE TOGETHER." In a wide landscape panel, a samurai with a topknot and patterned kimono stands on a cliff overlooking a ruined coastal town and bridge, muttering "WHERE IN THE WORLD DID THEY WANDER OFF TO...I" and "...JEEZ, THOSE GUYS..." A smaller panel reveals his scarred face as he thinks, "I'M AMAZED THAT THEY COULD GET LOST EVEN WHILE I WAS RIDING ON THAT KOMAINU..." Below, a woman with light hair looks up and says, "MAYBE I SHOULD CATCH A RIDE! OH, IT'S A WHARF!" A large "ベン!!" impact sound erupts as the samurai reacts with surprise.

On a Wano beach labeled "WANO COUNTRY - KURI - ON A CERTAIN BEACH...", Duke Inuarashi sits in a large straw hat, smoking a pipe. Narration states, "THE WANO COUNTRY WAS A LITTLE BIT TOO CRAMPED..." and "FOR LORD ODEN..." Inuarashi recalls, "HOW NOSTALGIC... NOW I REMEMBER. THIS IS THAT BEACH...!!!" He continues, "AND WE WERE REFERRED TO AS THE TALKING CAT AND THE TALKING DOG. EVERYBODY HERE FEARED US. WE DRIFTED TO THIS LAND... ALL OF THEM, EXCEPT FOR LORD ODEN...!!!" A sign reads "MOKOMO DUKE DOM RULER OF DAY DUKE INUARASHI." In the final panel, Inuarashi declares, "AND WAS INDEED A TRUE HERO...!! AND MORE THAN ANYTHING, HE WAS INDEED OUR LORD AND MASTER...!!!" while smaller figures react in the background. A voice adds, "HE WAS INDEED OUR SAVIOR...!!" and "BEING AFRAID OF THOSE WHO LOOK DIFFERENT ONLY HIGHLIGHTS YOUR IGNORANCE!! YOU ALL SHOULD BE ASHAMED!!"

The Straw Hats react in shock. Luffy asks, "WHAT HAPPENED TO ODENI" Nami cries, "...SO... WHAT A STORY...!! HOW CRUEL OF...!!" while others stare grimly. A panel shows Oden's execution site with flames and a massive explosion. Narration explains, "WHITEBEARD WAS CHARMED... AND ROGER WAS CAPTIVATED... BY THAT SAMURAI OF THE WANO COUNTRY...!!" The group learns, "ALL OF THIS HAPPENED TO THE COURAGEOUS LORD ODEN... OVER 20 YEARS AGO. BUT...!!" Luffy shouts, "DON'T JOKE WITH ME!!! THAT'S DIRTY, OROCHI!!! WHAT'D YOU SAAAAA AAAY!!I" The story continues: "OUR BELOVED LORD ODEN... WAS TAKEN TO THE FLOWER CAPITAL... AND EXECUTED AS A CRIMINAL." Characters weep and recall, "I CAN ENVISION IT JUST AS IF IT HAPPENED YESTERDAY...!! WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES... THE BRAVE WARRIOR, KOZUKI ODEN'S FINAL MOMENTS... IT WAS ONLY A FEW MONTHS AGO. IN OUR EYES... WHAT AN EXTRAORDINARY MAN..."

Inuarashi recounts their desperate escape: "IN DESPERATION, WE ESCAPED WITH ALL OF OUR STRENGTH, AND LEFT THE EXECUTION SITE TO HEAD TO ODEN CASTLE." Kin'emon adds, "...YES... BUT AT THAT POINT, NO ONE WAS ON OUR SIDE ANYMORE... IT'S PRETTY IMPRESSIVE THAT YOU GUYS WERE ABLE TO ESCAPE SAFELY FROM SUCH A CRAPPY SITUATION." The scene shifts to a ruined room where Inuarashi, Nekomamushi, and others argue. Narration states, "BUT AT THAT POINT, IT DID NOT MATTER WHO DIED. WE ABSOLUTELY NEEDED TO GET TO ODEN CASTLE. OROCHI, WHO ORCHESTRATED THE DOWNFALL OF THE KOZUKI CLAN, WOULD SURELY TARGET LORD MOMONOSUKE'S LIFE NEXT...! ON OUR WAY THERE, NEKOMAMUSHI AND INUARASHI STARTED TO ARGUE IT OUT. THEY WERE CAUGHT BY OROCHI'S SUBORDINATES AND WE BELIEVED THEIR LIVES TO BE FORFEIT." A wide shot shows Oden Castle ablaze as figures flee: "AND THE CASTLE WAS SET ABLAZE BEFORE WE COULD REACH IT....HOWEVER... KAIDOU ANTICIPATED OUR PLAN..."

In a burning castle, panicked voices cry out as the retainers realize the danger. "...ALONG WITH THEIR MOTHER, LADY KOZUKI TOKI." "LADY HIYORI!!" "LORD MOMONOSUKE!!" "LORD MOMO-NOSUKE AND HIS YOUNGER SISTER, LADY HIYORI." "LADY TOKI!!!" The scene shifts to Toki explaining her power while holding young Momonosuke and Hiyori. "HOWEVER, TRAVELLING TO THE FUTURE IS VERY POSSIBLE....!!" "IT'S IMPOSSIBLE FOR PEOPLE TO TRAVEL TO THE PAST..." "NOW, THIS MAY SOUND HARD TO BELIEVE, BUT... THERE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN RUMOURS THAT LADY TOKI WAS BORN SOMETIME IN THE DISTANT PAST." "I'VE BEEN TRAVELING FURTHER AND FURTHER INTO THE FUTURE USING THIS MYSTERIOUS 'TIME-TIME' ABILITY." T/N: TIME-TIME + TOKI-TOKI. In the present, the Scabbards react in shock amid the ruined castle grounds. "COULD WE STOP IT...!I" "...THEREFORE, THIS IS WHERE I SHALL REMAIN." ".....!! LORD ODEN..." "AND FINALLY, I HAVE ARRIVED HERE, AT THE TERMINUS OF MY JOURNEY."

Oden declares with fierce determination, sweat flying, "AND OPEN UP THIS COUNTRY'S BORDERS!! WE WILL DEFINITELY TAKE DOWN OROCHI AND KAIDOU... THEN WE WILL DEFINITELY FULFILL LORD ODEN'S WISHES. IF TRAVELING INTO THE FUTURE IS TRULY POSSIBLE..." Momonosuke stands atop a distant hill as a massive THUD! echoes and he calls out, "I'M LEAVING MOMONOSUKE..." The retainers awaken amid rubble and debris. "WHERE IS THE CASTLEII WHAT ABOUT THE FIREII AND WHAT ABOUT LADY TOKI!I" "IS THIS A DREAM!I WHERE ARE WE!I" "HUH... WHAT JUST...!I" "WHAT ABOUT LADY HIYORI!I"

The group stands before weathered gravestones. "SO THE TALES OF LADY TOKI'S POWERS... WERE ALL TRUE..." "WORN OUT GRAVES....!!" Kin'emon shouts in anguish, "WHERE IS MY MOTHER!I TELL ME, KIN'EMON!!!" A vast landscape of Wano unfolds with the caption "20 YEARS AFTER THAT INCIDENT!!" as smoke rises from distant settlements. Kin'emon stares in horror, "WE'VE LANDED IN THE WANO COUNTRY..." Luffy, Brook, Nami, Chopper, and Carrot stand among the ruins. Luffy growls, "WE TRAVELLED THE WANO COUNTRY IN ORDER TO BETTER UNDERSTAND ITS CURRENT STATE." "...WE WERE TRULY IN AN UNKNOWN WORLD."

Flashbacks show the ruined state of Wano under Orochi's rule. "THE KOZUKI NAME WAS SCORNED... THE DAIMYO AND VILLAGE GONE, AND THE VAST WASTELAND....!!" "UNDRIKABLE WATER... AND RATIONS CONTROLLED BY THOSE IN POWER." "THERE WERE FACTORIES LINED UP, ROW BY ROW... COUNTLESS SMOKE-STREAMS RISING INTO THE AIR..." Luffy clenches his fist, "WE WERE WRONG. WE THOUGHT WE WOULD BE ABLE TO FIND PEOPLE TO FIGHT ALONGSIDE US, BUT......WE REALIZED THAT THIS WAS NO LONGER THE WANO COUNTRY WE ONCE KNEW." In the present, Jibuemon kneels before Momonosuke. "20 YEARS... I HAVE BEEN WAITING HERE FOR 20 YEARS....!!...I BELIEVED LADY TOKI'S WORDS... AND WAITED HERE FOR THIS DAY!!" "I AM JIBUEMON OF THE KIBI, A FORMER RETAINER OF THE SHOGUN!!" "YOU ARE LORD KOZUKI MOMONOSUKE, IS THAT CORRECTI"

The samurai discuss their past failures and resolve. Kin'emon declares, "I SEARCHED FOR THE REMAINS OF THE NINE RED SCABBARDS. I WAS UNABLE TO FIND THEM...!!" He continues, "I HAD MY DOUBTS, AND AS TO GIVE PROOF TO SUCH WORDS..." Another voice adds, "INDICATED THAT THE KOZUKI FAMILY WOULD RISE AGAIN IN 20 YEARS...!!" A young boy reacts in shock, "MY MOTHER...!I" and the narration recalls "LADY TOKI'S LAST WORDS..." In the next panels the group pledges loyalty: "...THEN WE WILL STAND BY YOUR SIDE AND FIGHT WHEN THE TIME COMES!" "IF YOU ARE WILLING TO LEAD THE FIGHT AGAINST OROCHI...!!" "WE HAD HOPE THAT YOU WOULD APPEAR 20 YEARS FROM THAT DAY...!!" "EVEN IF THERE WAS A ONE IN A MILLION CHANCE...!!" Kin'emon concludes, "WE MUST GATHER TOGETHER IN SECRET. NOBODY CAN KNOW OF WHAT WE ARE PLANNING. WE SHALL DO OUR UTMOST!!" The others reply, "UNBELIEVABLE... EVEN THOUGH 20 YEARS HAVE PASSED, WE STILL HAVE ALLIES WE CAN COUNT ON." "WE ALL HAVE TATTOOS OF THE MARK OF THE MOON ON OUR ANKLES, AND SHALL WAIT FOR YOUR COMMAND...!!" "NO MATTER WHERE WE ARE, OR WHAT WE ARE DOING..."

The retainers recount how they were forced to flee Wano. "AND BEGAN TO PURSUE US." "LEAVING THE COUNTRY IS ALSO A CRIME. AS WE WERE LEAVING, THEY SPOTTED US," Kin'emon explains while gesturing. They split up to recruit allies: "AND US FOUR, AS YOU ALREADY KNOW, SET OUT TO RECRUIT ALLIES," "WE ENTRUSTED KIKU WITH GATHERING INTEL ON THE ENEMIES...!!" A fierce wave scene follows as Kin'emon roars, "THERE, WE PARTED WITH RAIZO." "LET US MEET ON ZOU!!" The group was shipwrecked because "NONE OF US HAD ANY NAVIGATIONAL SKILLS, ON OUR WAY TO ZOU, WE IMMEDIATELY SHIPWRECKED AND LOST OUR VESSEL." Later they parted with Kanjuro: "WE PARTED WITH KANJURO THERE." A desperate escape to Dressrosa is shown, with the warning "DO NOT WORRY ABOUT ME. SAVE YOURSELVES!!!" and the revelation that Kanjuro was captured while trying to reach Momonosuke aboard a mysterious ship.

Kin'emon continues the tale of their reunion. "AND THAT IS WHERE I MET ALL OF YOU...!!" He recounts arriving at Punk Hazard and encountering Caesar, one of Kaido's pawns, and being "DISMANTLED" by Law. A small panel shows a delighted exclamation, "I LOVE IT!!!" as a heart appears beside a grinning figure. Another character asks, "OH, IS IT NOT TO YOUR LIKINGI" while examining a strange talking object that declares, "HEY, THIS THING CAN TALK." A shocked face blurts, "WHO IS ITI" and "....!!" The group reflects on their narrow escapes: "WE ARE SAVED BY THE FACT THAT THEY DO NOT TRULY BELIEVE OF OUR PRESENCE." "...EVEN THOUGH OROCHI'S TROOPS KNOW OUR NAMES..." "THEY THINK THAT WE ARE GHOSTS." Kin'emon smiles, "THINKING BACK ON IT, WE WENT THROUGH CRISIS AFTER CRISIS. BUT IT WAS ABSOLUTELY A BLESSING TO MEET ALL OF YOU."

The meeting continues at a hidden location. Luffy shouts, "OK, GOT IT." while clutching his face as a large SFX "ばーん!" erupts. A small figure apologizes, "EVEN I DIDN'T REALIZE IT, AND I'M ONE OF YOUR ALLIES...!! SORRY, THAT WAS MY FAULT...!!" Someone yells, "HEY!! STOP FLIRTING!!" The group emphasizes secrecy: "THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THIS PLAN IS TO NOT BE EXPOSED." "AND HAVE BEEN ABLE TO REENTER THE COUNTRY WITHOUT ANYONE SUSPECTING A THING." "THANKS TO THAT, WE HAVEN'T BEEN PUT ON ANY WANTED POSTERS," Kin'emon states. He then outlines the rebel forces: "...AS WELL AS THE SAMURAI WE HAVE RECRUITED WITH THE WILL TO REBEL...!!" "AND TWO GROUPS FROM THE MINK TRIBE, THE MUSKETEERS LED BY INUARASHI, AND THE GUARDIANS LED BY NEKOMAMUSHI." "...OUR CURRENT FORCES ARE: THE STRAW HAT CREW LED BY LUFFY-DONO, THE HEART PIRATES LED BY LAW-DONO," while warning, "...HOWEVER, WAGING A WAR IS NOT OUR INTENTION." "IDEALLY, OUR FORCES WOULD NEED TO BE 5000 STRONG!!"

A shadowy fleet of ships rows toward Onigashima under a dramatic sky as a voice announces, "WE WILL COMMENCE THE RAID ON ONIGASHIMA..." The plan is detailed further: "THE PLAN WILL COMMENCE IN TWO WEEKS TIME!! ON THE NIGHT OF THE FIRE FESTIVAL..." A close-up reveals intense eyes and a hand flashing a two-finger gesture. In a separate gathering, retainers sit in discussion, one declaring, "OUR GOAL IS TO GATHER INFORMATION IN COMPLETE SECRECY AND TAKE THE COMMANDER'S HEAD!!" A translator note appears: "T/N: ODA'S WORD CHOICE FOR 'RAID' COULD POSSIBLY BE INVOKING THE 47 RONIN ASSASSINATION INCIDENT."
