Stake our lives upon seeking justice for him!" Another mink continues, "We, those who should have been Lord Oden's shields... By some twist of fate, we ended up being the ones protected by him!" Luffy stands nearby with wide eyes and an open mouth, reacting with "!!I" The bottom panel shows a close-up of the enraged mink leader with horns and spots, declaring, "AND OPEN THE BORDERS OF THE COUNTRY! A mink with a skull-like face reacts, "OH MY..." while another mink explains, "COMPARED TO THE GREAT ARMIES OF THE ENEMY, WE ARE BUT PUDDLES BEFORE THE OCEAN! WE HAVE NO HOPE OF WINNING. THOUGH THOSE THAT HARBOR SENTIMENTS OF REBELLION HAVE BEGUN TO GATHER," In the lower section, a bandaged mink states, "YES. THE KOUZUKI CLAN AND THE MINK RACES HAVE, SINCE TIME IMMEMORIAL, VOWED TO SHARE IN EACH OTHERS' FATES. WE FIRST SET OUR SIGHTS ON ZOU. THUS WE LEFT ON OUR VOYAGE... TO FIND COMRADES-IN-ARMS TO FIGHT WITH US! YET WIN WE MUST!" The group stands together in the forest clearing.

A fierce dog-like mink with a headband and pipe speaks, "THE WARRIORS OF THIS ISLAND WERE PREPARED TO GIVE THEIR LIVES! MORE IMPORTANTLY, INU AND I ARE BOTH RETAINERS DIRECTLY UNDER LORD ODEN HIMSELF! FROM THE DAY RAIZOU SHOWED UP ON THIS ISLAND," An angry mink with horns retorts, "OI! THAT'S CAUSE THOSE BASTARDS USED THAT FOUL WEAPON OF THEIRS! WE WERE ABSOLUTELY ROLLED. THAT TOO BY JUST ONE OF KAIDOU'S SQUADS." The mink continues, "BUT, WHEN IT DID COME TIME TO FIGHT..." Luffy stands listening as the mink says, "WE ACTUALLY HAVE SOMETHING TO ASK OF YOU, LUFFY-DONO! BUT, NEXT TIME... FUFU. NEXT TIME, THINGS WILL BE DIFFERENT! WE WILL NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE TWICE. The large panel shows the gathered alliance with dramatic impact sound effects "どどんっ!!" as the mink leader and others bow. Text reads, "WE HUMBLY REQUEST YOUR HELP! IN THE COMING FIGHT WITH KAIDOU AND THE SHOGUN OF THE WANO COUNTRY," A samurai with an afro exclaims, "THE SAMURAI AND THE MINKS! THAT'S A FORCE EVEN WE'D LOOK TWICE AT! WOOOOOO! THIS IS MORE THAN WE COULD HAVE EVER HOPED FOR!" Luffy looks on with a neutral expression in the final panel.

Luffy glares furiously at Kinemon. "HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MINDI! SAY THAT AGAIN, I DARE YA!!" Kinemon snaps back while holding him down. "ONE SEC, KINEMON! FORGET HE EVER SAID THAT! JUST SIT TIGHT WHILE I BEAT SOME SENSE INTO THIS IDIOT." Luffy turns away with a blank expression. "WHY DO I BOTHER!I" "NOPE." Nami steps in, arms out. "NO! NO! HIT THE DAMN BRAKES!" She adds, "FIRST COME THE NEGOTIATIONS." A voice questions, "WHA-I NAMI!I" Someone else agrees, "Luffy's GOT A POINT." Luffy grabs Momonosuke by the collar, shouting, "YOU'RE THE LEADER OF ALL THESE GREAT WARRIORS, RIGHT!I" Momonosuke cries out, "YOU SAID IT! YOU ARE A HUGE BIGSHOT, RIGHT!I" Momonosuke stares up in shock. "!I" Luffy demands, "AND WHAT ARE YOUI JUST SOME FIGUREHEAD, MOMO!I"

Kinemon grabs Luffy and shakes him violently. "YOU HAVE SOME NERVE SOUNDING OFF ON AN 8-YEAR-OLD CHILD AT A TIME LIKE THIS!I" Momonosuke weeps with a runny nose. "THAT'S ENOUGH, LUFFY!" "YET ALL YOU CAN DO IS CRY!" Nami defends Momonosuke. "YOU ARE THE ONE ADULT THAT SHOULDN'T BE AROUND HIM AT ALL!!" She continues, "THAT'S RIGHT♡ I'M SORRY FOR ALL OF THAT, MY DEAR MOMO. THAT IDIOT CAPTAIN OF OURS IS A REAL MEANIE." A skeleton figure explains, "UNTIL THEY ACTUALLY BECOME ADULTS, ARE NOT ACTUALLY REQUIRED TO REALLY DO MUCH. IT'S THE JOB OF THE ADULTS AROUND THEM TO AID AND ASSIST..." Luffy stands with Momonosuke. "THIS IS THE REAL WORLD!" "YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO LEARN ABOUT ITS ENTIRETY." Momonosuke rubs his eyes. "MOMO-NOSUKE!" Nami and Carrot watch him with concern. "HMI"

Luffy's eyes widen in alarm. "MOTHERrrr~!" He orders, "LIGHT THE FIRES!" A mink shouts, "WE'RE SURROUNDED!" A close-up mink face declares, "YOUR FATHER... IS A FOOLISH LORD." Luffy stands with Momonosuke. "EVERYONE, RUN!" "THERE'S A SAFE PLACE WE CAN GO!" "WE'VE GOTTA RUN!" Momonosuke's face fills the panel, tears streaming. "I WANNA BEAT KAI-DOU!"

Momonosuke sobs before the ruined throne room marked with the Kozuki crest. "KAIDOU IS THE ENEMY OF MY PARENTS!" Luffy watches silently. Momonosuke continues, "LORD MOMO-NOSUKE... SO I CAN GET VENGEANCE FOR MY FATHER AND MOTHER!" He stands among the retainers. "EVEN I WISH TO BECOME AN ADULT, BIG AND STRONG, EVEN MY MOTHER FELL BY HIS HAND!" "I WANT TO PROTECT MY RETAINERS!" Luffy turns and runs toward him. "THAT IS WHY I WISH FOR YOU TO FIGHT ALONGSIDE US!" Momonosuke cries, "BUT... I AM SMALL. I CANNOT." Nekomamushi looms over him. "YOU'RE JUST AN OLD SOFTIE NOW, AREN'T YA." Inuarashi adds, "THAT SENTIMENT ALONE... IS MORE THAN ENOUGH...!" Luffy shouts, "LUFFY!" Momonosuke answers, "SHUT UP."

Luffy's face lights up with fierce approval. "THAT'S MORE LIKE IT." In the next panel a cloaked figure is slammed to the ground with a resounding "OOOF!" and "べっち!!" as Luffy plants a foot down. "I'M BEGGING Y-" the figure pleads while Luffy's massive hand presses forward. "PLEASE!" the voice continues amid impact sounds "かっ" and "ばっ!!" A close-up shows an older mink's intense, sweat-streaked glare and a sharp "!!" reaction. Luffy then thrusts his fist toward the viewer, eyes blazing with excitement. "I'LL TAKE DOWN KAIDOU FOR YA!" he declares. "LET'S JOIN FORCES! AN ALLIANCE!" he adds with a wide grin. The mink in the straw hat snaps back, "OI. YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO SHAKE IT. SHAKE IT." Luffy vigorously shakes the mink's paw. "THANK YOU SO MUCH!" the mink cries. "THANK YOU, LUFFY!" another voice echoes. Nearby minks react with shock and sweat drops, one gasping "はーっ!!" as the alliance is sealed.

The striped-shirted mink laughs heartily. "I GUESS, MORE SO THAN ANY OF US, LUFFY-DONO... THINKS OF LORD MOMONOSUKE AS AN ADULT. THOUGH HE MAY HAVE 'SOUNDED OFF' ON A MERE 8-YEAR-OLD." In the background, Pedro, a female mink, and others smile at the scene. Luffy turns, surprised. "HMI BUT YOU'RE FINE WITH IT, AREN'T YOUI THAT'S NOT THE POINT!" he protests. The dog-like mink replies, "STRAW HAT-YA. WHAT ABOUT YOUR FAITH IN MEI YOU NEVER ASKED FOR MY OPINION!" while another mink adds, "YOU'RE RIGHT, ADMIRABLE FAITH INDEED." The full alliance is declared in large lettering: "NINJA-PIRATE-MINK ALLIANCE!" Luffy is knocked flat by a massive paw with a loud "SMACK" and swirling "ウオオオオオオオ!!" effects. Voices shout "THAT'S A MOUTHFUL." "DO WE REALLY NEED THE NINJA PARTI" and a booming "WE DO INDEED!!!" as the gathered minks cheer.

Luffy stands beaming in his straw hat. "NOT EVEN CLOSE!! BEING FRIENDS!" he corrects. "JUST A HEADS UP GUYS! YOU DON'T HAVE TO BOW YOUR HEADS TO US EVER AGAIN! OR KNEEL! BEING IN AN ALLIANCE MEANS..." The spotted-hatted mink yells back, "AH. THAT WHOLE DEAL WITH SANJI, HUH." Luffy continues, "WE'RE ACTUALLY MISSING A CREW MEMBER RIGHT NOW." The spotted mink points out, "WAIT A SECOND! PERHAPS YOU SHOULD HAVE MENTIONED THIS BEFORE!I" while another mink muses, "MM. HMI" A tall figure in a dark coat adds, "ALSO, I'M FINE WITH THE ALLIANCE AND EVERYTHING... BUT I'VE GOT ONE CONDITION." Luffy grins confidently. "UNTIL THEN, I WANT EVERYONE TO WAIT AND NOT START ANY TROUBLE. BESIDES, SANJI'S SUPER STRONG! I'M GONNA GO AND BRING HIM BACK. HE'S PRETTY MUCH WORTH A THOUSAND PEOPLE!" In the background the tall figure warns, "'CAUSE YOU WERE SLEEPING YOUR FAT ASS OFF WHEN IT ALL HAPPENED. THIS IS THE FIRST I'VE HEARD OF IT! WHAT DID YOU SAY!I BY BIG MOM!I"

The wolf-like mink growls, "PEKO... MAMUSHII" while a small reindeer-like figure stammers, "J- JUST SO WE'RE CLEAR, I'M WORTH TWO THOUSAND, GOT IT!I" A female mink reassures, "YES, YES. WE KNOW." Luffy's voice rings out, "IT'S NOT LIKE I'M GONNA FIGHT HER! I'LL BE FINE! I'LL GO WITH PEKO-MAMUSHI." The tall figure replies, "WILL YOU BE OKAYI YOU'LL BE GOING UP AGAINST A YONKOU!" Another mink notes, "IS THAT SO... THAT'S REASSURING." The scene shifts to a wide view of the towering tree and the "GUARDIANS' RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT" sign. Narration reads, "TODAY IS A DAY OF MIRACLES!" and "TODAY..." In the forest, Wanda and Carrot walk with others. Wanda recalls, "A QUARREL GREAT ENOUGH THAT THEY'D ALMOST KILLED EACH OTHER! AND EVEN IN THAT STATE, THEY WERE AT EACH OTHER'S THROATS!" Carrot adds, "I WONDER WHAT HAPPENED... EVEN PEDRO AND I WERE JUST KIDS." The wolf mink finishes, "YOU'VE GOT THAT RIGHT. A LONG TIME AGO, DUKE INUARASHI AND MASTER NEKOMAMUSHI WERE SAID TO HAVE BEEN THE BEST OF FRIENDS. BUT ONE DAY, THEY RETURNED AFTER A VERY LONG JOURNEY, BARELY CLINGING TO THEIR LIVES."

The minks celebrate wildly after the rulers' reconciliation. "NOW WE CAN SLEEP AND WAKE UP WHENEVER WE WANT!" one cheers. Another yells, "WHERE'D THE STRAW HATS GO!I" A large figure adds, "TODAY'S THE BANQUET CELEBRATING THE RECONCILIATION OF THE TWO RULERS!" A massive sound effect booms across the sea: ビオォォォーン!! On the ocean, several ships approach a massive elephantine form. "OBJECTIVE SIGHTED," a voice reports. "LORD JACK!" cries another. Jack stands on deck, scowling at the sight. "BLASTED THING. CAN'T BELIEVE I HAD TO COME HERE AGAIN," he grumbles. An underling replies, "YES. THANK YOU FOR POINTING OUT THE OBVIOUS, DUMBASS."

Jack sits on his throne-like seat aboard the ship, flanked by subordinates. "THE MINKS ARE HARDY LITTLE RODENTS. WHAT IF..." one begins. Jack retorts, "I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT YOU FOUND IT ACCEPTABLE TO RETURN WITH SUCH AN ANSWER. 'RAIZOU ISN'T THERE,' YOU SAID." He glares at the sheep-headed figure beside him. "SHEEPS-HEAD." Discussion continues about the escaped minks and the gas attack. "THERE'S NO DOUBT THEY'RE WEAKENED. IF WE JUS' RUSH 'EM, WE'LL SOON BE ABL-" Jack interrupts, "PITY IS A TROUBLE-SOME THING, THE DEAD DO NOT SEEK REVENGE. IF THEY'RE ALL STILL HALF-DEAD, WE'LL SIMPLY GO THERE AND FINISH THE JOB!" A mink woman sweats, thinking, "THERE'S NO WAY WE CAN TELL HIM THAT SOMEONE ACTUALLY DROVE US OUT." Jack declares, "I'LL JUST KILL THIS HUGE ELEPHANT!" A shocked "EHHHI!" rings out as the panel shows Zunesha's massive trunk and a tiny figure in the corner. "THERE'S NO NEED TO RUSH ANYWHERE," a calm voice states. Narration reads: "IN THE SHADOW OF THE NEW GREAT ALLIANCE (AN INHUMAN VILLAIN) APPROACHES!"
