Luffy grins widely and shouts "GOT IT!" as he responds to orders. Zoro yells urgently, "WE'RE SHORT ON TIME!" and "IF YOU'VE GOT SOMETHING TO ATTEND TO, MAKE SURE YOU FINISH IT UP QUICK!" while Luffy replies, "WE'LL BE WAITING AT THE EASTERN PORT!" A panel shows the chaos of the escape as the narration states, "THE NAVY'S CLOSING IN! THE GRAND DRESSROSA ESCAPE OPERATION BEGINS!!" In the next scene, a voice calls out, "ZORO-SENPAI! STATE YOUR MARINE CODE AND NAME AT ONCE, SOLDIER!" and the compromised Marine stammers, "WHA-P-ER..." while another yells, "DAMN IT, DARA! THE EASTERN PORT'S BEEN COMPLETELY COMPROMISED! MOBILIZE THE PURSUIT SQUADS TO THE EAST IMMEDIATELY!"

Cavendish and his group charge forward on horseback. Cavendish shouts, "GO ON AHEAD! THE PORT'S NOT MUCH FURTHER!" and "THANKS!" while a sign labels the group "BARTO CLUB GROUP." A massive warrior yells, "SPARE US YOUR GRATITUDE!" and "WE'RE IN DEBTOR'S HELL TRYING TO PAY YOU BACK AS IT IS, DAMN IT!" Another fighter adds, "WE ALREADY OWE YOU; WE DON'T NEED ANY MORE FAVORS!" A background voice notes, "THE CRIMINALS THAT WERE SUPPOSED TO BE HELD IN THE PALACE HAVE NOW APPEARED IN THE EASTERN REGION OF THE CITY!" and "THAT MEANS THE PALACE IS COMPLETELY VACANT NOW!" In the lower panels Luffy suddenly appears, shouting in panic, "STRAW HAT LUFFY HAS JUST ARRIVED!" "WHERE ARE YOU!I" "REBECCA!" "WHY'S HE OVER THERE!I DO NOT LET HIM SLIP THROUGH YOUR FINGERS." A small panel shows a distant view of the palace flower fields with the caption "REPORTING FROM IN FRONT OF THE PALACE."

Inside the palace, voices echo as servants and guards search for Rebecca. "CALLING MEI" Rebecca sits alone by the window in her elegant dress, hands clasped, while calls ring out: "REBECCA! WHERE ARE YOU!I" and "REBECCA!" Someone reports, "WHA...I SOMEONE OUTSIDE IS..." Rebecca looks up in surprise. Luffy bursts onto the scene with a wide grin, shouting "THERE YOU ARE!" A guard warns, "YOU SHOULDN'T BE SEEN COHORTING WITH PIRATES, MILADY. IT'S NOT PROPER." Luffy points excitedly: "LUCY! OVER HERE!" From the wall, guards spot him and yell "APPREHEND STRAW HAT!" as soldiers rush forward. Kyros, the one-eyed former gladiator, stands firm and declares, "TIME FOR ME TO ANNOUNCE THE RETURN OF THE RIKU ROYAL FAMILY TO THE THRONE." He continues, "TANK... DO ME A FAVOR AND CALL VIOLA AND REBECCA. WE'RE GOING TO GO DOWN TO THE CITY." A sign reads "ROYAL PALACE, INNER GARDEN." Kyros replies "OF COURSE" and then roars with determination, "YES! I SHALL RETURN AT ONCE! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS DAY FOR FAR TOO LONG!"

Rebecca runs desperately toward a barred window where Luffy is being restrained by guards. She cries "LUCY!" as impact lines and chaos erupt around them. Luffy is slammed against the bars while Rebecca reaches out, screaming "KYAAA AAAH!" and "REBECCA!" In close-up, Rebecca's face shows shock and conflict as she thinks, "A PIRATE IS STILL A PIRATE! WHAT TO DO!I" Luffy, bloodied and furious, shouts "HE'S A PIRATE BUT HE'S ALSO THE MAN THAT SAVED THIS COUNTRY!" and lets out a massive "HAA" and "KYAAAA AAAH! A PIRATE!" Rebecca calls again, "LUCY!" A guard questions her with "WITH WHAT THEY'VE DONE TO SOLDIER-SAN!I" Rebecca stammers, "WITH WHA-" and asks "ARE YOU OKAY WITH ITI" Luffy snaps back, "THAT'S NOT WHY I'M HERE, DUMMY!" Rebecca looks down sadly as Luffy adds, "I'M GLAD YOU CAME! I DIDN'T GET TO PROPERLY THANK YOU, SO..."

Rebecca stands on the balcony overlooking the city, tears in her eyes. She says quietly, "IS TRYING HIS BEST TO DISTANCE HIMSELF FROM ME..." and "SOLDIER-SAN... LUCY, I... I GOT A LETTER FROM HIM..." Luffy reacts with shock, eyes wide and mouth open in a huge yell. Rebecca continues, "YOU'RE NEVER GOING TO BE ABLE TO SEE HIM AGAIN, AT THIS RATE!" She turns away, distressed: "YOU'RE JUST SOME ONE-LEGGED TOY!" and "WHYI IS IT BECAUSE I SAID SUCH TERRIBLE THINGS TO HIMI" Rebecca looks back with wide eyes, asking "WHATI YOU AREN'T EVEN MY PARENT!" and "HE WANTS TO MAKE ME A STRANGER!" In a close-up, tears stream down her face as she clutches the railing and thinks, "DOES HE THINK I'LL BE A BURDENI" and "DOES HE DETEST THE THOUGHT OF LIVING WITH MEI"

Rebecca breaks down in tears, shouting "NO! I HATE IT! HOW COULD I EVER BE OKAY WITH THIS!I" She explains, "I ONLY CAME HERE TO ASK YOU..." while guards rush in the background. She adds, "WHETHER YOU WERE REALLY OKAY WITH THE WAY THINGS TURNED OUT!I" and "I HAVE NO IDEA! THINK ABOUT THAT STUFF YOURSELF! I CAN'T STAY IN THIS COUNTRY ANY LONGER!" Luffy and the guards react as Rebecca turns to leave. A guard calls "REBECCA! STRAW HAT! WAIT JUST A MINUTE!" and "LADY REBECCA!I" Luffy grins widely and shouts "YES!" then asks excitedly, "THEN, WILL YOU COME WITH MEI" Rebecca looks back with a serious expression. In the next scene, Viola appears and grabs Rebecca's arm, saying "VIOLA-SAN! I HAVE A FAVOR TO ASK OF YOU!" as Rebecca reacts with surprise.

Luffy and Rebecca rocket through the air amid a massive explosion of smoke and debris. Luffy shouts, "HOLD ON TIGHT!" Rebecca replies, "OKAY!" as someone yells, "HERE WE GO!" Below, panicked citizens react in horror. One man cries, "BEEN KIDNAPPED BY A PIRATE!" Another exclaims, "LADY REBECCA HAS..." A shocked voice shouts, "WHAT!I" Nearby figures ask, "SOME- THING THE MATTERI" and "KING RIKU- UUU!" as soldiers begin to flee, yelling, "TIME TO RUN!!" A close-up shows a sweating, wide-eyed man gasping, "STRAW HAT LUFFY!" Another stammers, "S- S- ST- ST-" while the crowd questions, "WHOI WHICH PIRATE!I WHAT KIND OF PIRATE!I ONE OF THE COLOSSEUM ENTRANTS!I"

The crowd erupts in panic across the city streets. Voices shout, "WHAA AAAA AAT!I", "HE'S DEFINITELY GONNA RANSOM HER OFF!", "THE CULPRIT IS NONE OTHER THAN STRAW HAT LUFFY!", and "LADY REBECCA HAS BEEN KIDNAPPED FROM THE PALACE!" An official orders, "HUNT DOWN STRAW HAT ON THE DOUBLE! SAVE PRINCESS REBECCA!" and "AND HARBOR THEM IN YOUR COUNTRY!" A man with a hat yells, "SEE!I THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU TRUST PIRATE SCUM... ROGER!" Another retorts, "IMPOSSIBLE! LUCY HAS...!I HOW UTTERLY UNEXPECTED!" Gatz snaps back, "STOP TALKING OUT OF YOUR ASS GATZ!I" while a voice answers, "WELL, DOESN'T MATTER, I STILL LOVE YA, YOU RASCAL!" Soldiers raise rifles and fire with loud SFX "パチパチ" and "ドドド", shouting, "WHAT!I" and "THERE HE IS! SPECIAL SNIPER SQUAD, TAKE YOUR AIM AND FIRE!"

Marine soldiers suddenly collapse across the ground with impact SFX "ドドド" and "バキ". A voice cries, "MY GOD! THE MARINE SOLDIERS HAVE SUDDENLY..." A woman screams, "KYAAH!" while another notes, "WELL, IN ANY CASE, THEY STILL PLAN ON SETTING SAIL FROM THE EASTERN PORT! MOBILIZE THE FLEET!" Someone questions, "NO! THEY ARE STILL CONSCIOUS, IT SEEMS!" and "HAO- SHOKU!I" A sign reads "MARINE TENT" as orders ring out: "SEND ALL SQUADS EAST TO CARTA!" with the reply, "ROGER." In the sky, Luffy and Rebecca continue their flight. Luffy grins and taunts, "I'D LIKE TO SEE YOU TRY!" while a voice below yells, "GET THAT LUCY!"

Luffy speaks seriously to Rebecca as they fly over the city: "YOU'VE GOTTA GO THE REST OF THE WAY YOURSELF! THE WHOLE COUNTRY'S AFTER US TRYING TO PROTECT YOU!" He continues, "IF YOU GET CAUGHT, YOU'LL BE TAKEN BACK TO THE PALACE!" and "I'M GOING TO LEAVE YOU ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE HILL; I'LL BE YOUR DECOY." Rebecca responds with a soft "HMI" as Luffy calls out, "REBECCA!" She smiles and replies, "SHISHISHI! DON'T MENTION IT!" Luffy answers, "THANK YOU! LUCY!" and Rebecca says, "GOT IT! THANK YOU!" Below, the angry crowd shouts, "I GUESS ONCE A PIRATE, ALWAYS A PIRATE!", "WE THOUGHT YOU WERE OUR HERO!!", "I AIN'T TRUSTING NO PIRATES NO MORE!", "SAVE LADY REBECCA!", and "CAPTURE LUCY!" as Luffy lands with a determined expression.

Kyros stares ahead with a grim, stitched face. Hands yank a bridle hard as a figure is grabbed and thrown down. In a quiet room, a man sits with his back to the viewer amid packed bags and barrels. He speaks: "IT WAS FOR THE SAKE OF HER HAPPINESS." "I APOLOGIZE FOR LYING ABOUT WHO YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER AND REBECCA'S FATHER IS." "SCARLET, MY DUTY HERE IS DONE." Kyros appears in close-up, panting heavily with sweat flying, "HAA-HAA-". He runs past a stone doorway, thinking, "I... I CAN'T STAY HERE ANYMORE". The seated man continues, "AND THAT IS WHY, NOW, I WANT HER TO HAVE THE HAPPINESS SHE DESERVES AS A CHILD OF THE ROYAL FAMILY." "BECAUSE SHE WAS PART OF THE ROYAL FAMILY, SHE FLED FROM PLACE TO PLACE, SLIGHTED AT EVERY TURN, FOR 10 LONG YEARS." Kyros grips a door handle tightly as "CHIKK" sounds.

Rebecca stands shocked in her torn dress, tears and sweat flying as she shouts, "JUST STOP WITH ALL THE LYING ALREADY!" A voice calls, "REBECCA!". Kyros, bloodied and bandaged, admits, "AND MOTIVES AND WHATNOT ASIDE, IT'S ALSO A FACT THAT I KILLED A MAN." The long-haired man replies, "I FOUGHT EVERYONE AND ANYONE I COULD... I REALLY WAS, EVEN IF IT WAS A LONG TIME AGO, QUITE THE VILLAIN..." He adds, "AHH... YOU MEAN THE LETTERI I WASN'T LYING." Kyros answers firmly, "I DON'T CARE IF YOUR HANDS ARE STAINED BLOOD RED. I ONLY HAVE ONE DAD IN THIS WORLD!" "I DON'T CARE HOW MANY HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE YOU'VE KILLED..." Rebecca cries out, "I DON'T KNOW ANYONE LIKE THAT!" "I'M NOT SOME POSH PRINCE'S SON!"

Rebecca screams with tears streaming, "I AM KYROS'S DAUGHTER!". Kyros looks on with wide eyes as she continues, "UNTIL THE DAY THAT YOU CAN BE HAPPY... SO... STOP LYING...!". Sweat drips from Kyros's face. In a wide view outside the ruined building, Rebecca clings to him amid smoke and debris, shouting, "STAY BY MY SIDE, SOLDIER-SAN!". Kyros answers with a radiant smile, "I WILL REMAIN BY YOUR SIDE!" as impact lines and "ボコーン" and "ガバッ!!" burst around them.

Rebecca weeps with joy, "YES! LET'S LIVE... TOGETHER!". Kyros asks tearfully, "ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT SOMEONE LIKE ME AS YOUR FATHERI" "I... ME...". In the palace, Viola speaks calmly, "YES... THIS IS WHAT SHE WISHES FOR." A spiky-haired man replies, "VIOLA! I HAD FEARED AS MUCH, BUT...". A figure walks away saying, "RETURNING TO THE PALACE, FATHER." "REBECCA WILL NOT BE...". The spiky-haired man tells Viola, "THIS IS THE SECOND TIME SOMEONE'S ASKED THAT OF ME." "A STRANGE REQUEST INDEED." Viola responds, "BUT CAN YOU BE PRINCESS INSTEAD!I" "I'M SORRY, VIOLA-SAN!". Rebecca watches with a worried expression as "カッ" and other sounds mark the tense exchange.

In the ruins of Forest Town Carta at the entrance to the Eastern Port, a massive crowd panics as soldiers and citizens scramble amid the chaos. Voices shout from above: "WHAT ARE THOSE TWO BOSSES DOING ANYWAY!I SHEESH." "TRAFALGAR LAW ALSO UP AND DISAPPEARED!" "WHERE THE HELL IS LUFFY!I" A sign reads "RUINS OF FOREST TOWN CARTA ENTRANCE TO THE EASTERN PORT." Below, a wide-eyed furry creature reacts with shock "!!!" while a turbaned man yells "EH!I" as debris flies. A large man with a scar growls, "THERE ARE THINGS EVEN... WE CAN'T HOLD OFF." Luffy appears in the foreground, mouth agape in panic with "HAA-" and "WHEEZE" effects, shouting "I JUST HAD TO OPEN MY BIG FAT MOUTH!! HERE COMES ONE RIGHT NOW! IT... IT'S FUJITORA! LUFFY-SENPAI! GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE NOW!" Fujitora descends dramatically with a massive impact "DON!!" and motion lines, gripping his weapon as Luffy reacts in terror. A small box notes "FUJITORA DRAWS NEAR!!
