A massive close-up shows Trafalgar Law's intense face as he declares, "THAT IS MY DEAL!!!!" and "YOU MUST HAND OVER YOUR OWN HEART TO ME!!" In the next tier, Law continues speaking while a woman with wings listens nearby. Law says, "THAT WAY, I'LL FEEL NICE AND SECURE...!!" and "...YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO LIE ABOUT ANYTHING FUNNY." Another voice adds, "IF EACH OF US HAS THE OTHER AT HIS MERCY..." The bottom panels reveal Vergo squeezing a struggling woman while Law lies defeated on the floor. Vergo states, "YOUR HEART IS CURRENTLY IN THE POSSESSION OF VERGO HERE!" and "AS I'M SURE YOU MUST HAVE BECOME PAINFULLY AWARE..." He continues, "YOU HAVE NOBODY BUT YOURSELF TO BLAME FOR THIS, LAW!" and "AS I THOUGHT, IT'S NEVER WISE TO TRUST PEOPLE!" Law's voice trails off with "SHURORO RORORO..." as Vergo's grip tightens with a loud "SQUEEZE".

Law is violently kicked across the room with a massive impact, shouting "EHI!" as the attacker yells "NGUAAH HHH!!!" Monet lies chained nearby. In the following panels, Vergo speaks while standing over the fallen Law and Monet. He says, "I'M QUITE DISAPPOINTED IN YOU, LAW... JUST WHEN I THOUGHT I HAD MADE A GOOD FRIEND...!!" and notes, "SHE HEARD EVERYTHING YOU SAID...!!" Another line adds, "...'MONE' WAS KIND ENOUGH TO FOLLOW YOU IN A DIFFERENT FORM." Vergo concludes with a grin, "THOUGH I SUPPOSE EVEN YOU COULDN'T HAVE BEEN EXPECTED TO NOTICE..." Vergo continues his assault on Law, shouting "WATCH YOUR MOUTH, YOU LITTLE BRAT!!!" with a heavy "ドス!!" impact as Law grunts "URNG HHH!!" and "HNN GAAH HH!!!" Vergo's face twists in rage. In the next section, Vergo laughs "SHURORO RORO..." while Law lies chained and beaten. Vergo says, "IT'S RIGHT OVER HEEEREEEE!" and "I'D LIKE TO KNOW WHAT YOU'VE DONE WITH MINE, WHILE WE'RE HERE." He taunts, "HELD AT THE MERCY OF YOUR OWN ABILITY, EH, LAWI" and "YOU'RE ALIVE EVEN THOUGH THAT GUY'S GOT YOUR HEARTI! YOU'RE AMAZING!!" Law struggles with "URNG HHH!!" Meanwhile, a Den Den Mushi activates with "NOSO" as a woman reports, "I SEE, I SEE... VERY WELL!! ACTIVATE IT!" and "MASTER, I HAVE PREPARED THE TRANSMISSION." The snail adds, "LIIITTLE SMOOOO".

A Den Den Mushi broadcasts an image of the frozen half of Punk Hazard island, with a voice stating, "THIS IS THE FROZEN HALF OF THE ISLAND..." and "RIGHT NEAR THE CENTRE...!!" Onlookers react in shock: "WHAT'S IT SHOWINGI! WHERE IS THATI!" and "IS THAT CANDYI! A GIANT PIECE OF CANDYI!" Another voice cries, "AHHH!! SOME KIND OF IMAGE JUST POPPED UP!!" and "WHERE DID THAT VISUAL DEN-DEN MUSHI COME FROMI!" The transmission continues showing the snowy landscape and distant figures. Narration boxes explain, "AND THESE ARE IMAGES FROM AROUND THE FROZEN SIDE OF THE ISLAND...!" and identify "UNDERWORLD BROKERS..." with the final note, "ALL AROUND THE NEW WORLD..."

Den Den Mushi

Narration explains that fragments of the full-sized "Smiley" are gathering toward the center of the region after being hurled from the burning side. Right now these "Smileys" will reform on the frozen side of the island. In a large laboratory, a figure with spiky black hair states, "SMILEY IS NONE OTHER THAN THE VERY SAME H2S GAS..." A screen shows the creature. The same man continues, "...AND BECOME SMILEY ONCE MORE. THEN, THE EXPERIMENT WILL BEGIN! ULTIMATELY, THEY WILL REFORM HERE ON THE FROZEN SIDE OF THE ISLAND..." He adds that the one problem with that particular experiment was that the victims of the gas were able even in their weakened state to flee to a safe location. In close-up the man grins widely and declares, "...THAT WAS RELEASED FROM THAT POISON BOMB FOUR YEARS AGO, DESTROYING THIS ISLAND!!"

Caesar Clown

The spiky-haired man continues explaining, "...SHOULD ADD A CERTAIN NEW EFFECT TO THE POISON GAS... TURNING IT INTO A PERFECT WEAPON OF MASS SLAUGHTER!!!" He sits with a long-haired woman and a bald man in chains. He adds, "IN ORDER TO CORRECT THIS, I HAVE PROVIDED SMILEY, MY WEAPON FROM FOUR YEARS AGO... WITH A GIGANTIC PIECE OF 'FOOD', WHICH MY CALCULATIONS INDICATE..." On a monitor a striped creature is shown being released. The man declares, "I CALL IT... YOU ARE ABOUT TO WITNESS... THE BIRTH OF A NEW WEAPON." The scene shifts outside to people fleeing a massive cloud as a sign reads "CENTRE OF THE FROZEN SIDE OF THE ISLAND." Someone shouts, "HERE IT COMES!! ARE WE REALLY GOING TO BE ABLE TO ESCAPE FROM THAT THINGI!" A large speech bubble proclaims "SHINOKUNI!!!" with the note "[TN: LITERALLY, 'LAND OF DEATH']".

"WHAT THE HECK IS THAT MONSTERI!" A voice reports, "MASTER, WE'VE SIGHTED A MASSIVE GELATINOUS CREATURE!!" Below, people board the dragon as Caesar shouts, "HURRY INTO THE DRAGON SLEDGE AND..." A terrified voice screams "AAAAAHHHHHH!!!" while asking, "...IS SOMETHING THE MATTERI" Caesar grins and orders, "YOU MUST EVACUATE AT ONCE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY. VERY GOOD. ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED THAT TASK... AS INSTRUCTED, WE WILL PROTECT YOUR IMAGE INTO THE MIST!!" A panel shows the dragon labeled "PH-006."

The group stares in horror as the sledge begins to dissolve beneath them. "HARDLY VERY CONVINCING..." someone mutters. A man in a dark coat and striped hat shouts in disbelief, "WH... WHAAAAA AAAATI!" Another voice cries out, "HOW IN THE WORLD...I! I COULD IT HAVE COME INTO CONTACT WITH SOME STRANGE CHEMICAL...I!" Panic spreads as the warning rings out: "BIG TROUBLE!!! THE SLEDGE...IT SEEMS TO BE MELTING APART!! THIS SLEDGE ISN'T GOING ANYWHERE!!" The dragon-like creature rears up, "AHHHHH!! THE DRAGON IS RUNNING AWAY!!" followed by a low "GRRRRR". "HURRY!!" someone yells. "JUST RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN TOWARDS THE FACILITY!!!" A wolf-like figure adds, "YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO RUN... RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!" One terrified man stammers, "EHHHHHPI! U...UNDER-STOOD!!!" while the urgent command continues, "PROTECTIVE CLOTHING WON'T DO YOU ANY GOOD!! TAKE IT ALL OFF!!!" A massive "BAOOO OHHHH" echoes as a striped, melting mass tumbles. Suddenly a projection appears: "SOMEONE'S IMAGE JUST APPEARED IN MIDAIR!!" A shocked voice asks, "OH MY...! WHAT'S THIS NOW...I!" The reply is immediate: "JUST IGNORE IT!!! WE HAVE TO FOCUS ON RUNNING!!!"

A massive, bubbling black mass surges forward with a powerful "SLURP", scattering debris and dark rectangular objects. Vergo's face twists in rage and longing as he roars, "SMILEY!!!" and declares, "I HAVE MISSED YOU THESE THREE LONG YEARS!!!" The creature lunges with a thunderous "BAOOO OOOOOO OOHHH". Vergo continues coaxing it, "DO YOU REMEMBERI YES, IT WAS FOUR YEARS AGO NOW..." while urging, "BUT DON'T RUSH NOW... 'WAIT' FOR NOW, YESI I HAVE PREPARED SOME SPECIAL FOOD HERE, JUST FOR YOU... SHURORORORO" and "IT IS WONDERFUL TO SEE YOU, SMILEY! I HAVE PREPARED SOME SPECIAL FOOD HERE, JUST FOR YOU..." From the side, a voice encourages, "THAT'S RIGHT! THERE'S A GOOD BOY!" and "ALL RIGHT, THEN!!! EAT IT ALL UP, SMILEY!" Another notes, "HE'S REALLY NOT LISTENING..." The creature devours with loud "ズズ..." and "ドド" sounds as the group flees in terror. Vergo finishes with a sinister smile, "...WE HAVE SO MUCH TO CATCH UP ON...AH, SMILEY...."
