Dance of Sea Breams and Flounders

A crowd of fish-men cheers wildly. One shouts, "AHHHH...!!! I THOUGHT I WAS DOOMED TO A LIFE OF SLAVERY...!!!" Another yells, "THAT DAMN HODY GOT WHAT HE DESERVED!!!" Voices call out, "ALL RIGHT!!! WE'RE FREE!!!" and "WOOH OOOOO OOO!!!" In the next panel, a fish-man declares, "FINALLY, WE CAN SAIL ON TO THE NEW WORLD!!!" while another says, "SHADDUP!! I'M GONNA BE PIRATE KING, ALL RIGHTI!I!" A third adds, "I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THAT..." and "NOW TO BECOME THE PIRATE KING!!" Someone points and shouts, "STRAW HAT PIRATES!!! LOOKS LIKE WE OWE YOU ONE!!!" Neptune, the massive king with a crown and trident, speaks firmly: "THAT IS... NOT WHAT WE SHOULD BE THINKING ABOUT RIGHT NOW. THIS ISLAND HAS LONG BEEN A TOURIST ATTRACTION AND PLACE OF REST FOR THE PIRATES OF THE WORLD. WE HAVE NO REASON TO KEEP THEM ANY LONGER." He continues, "DO YOU NOT FEAR THAT THEIR RESENTMENT FOR HODY......MIGHT LEAD TO A RESENTMENT FOR OUR KIND AS A WHOLE...I"

Fish-men panic and plead, "WE DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HODY KILLING THE QUEEN!! THOSE GUYS WERE CRAZY, I TELL YOU!!!" and "AHHHHH!!! PLEASE DON'T BEHEAD US!! ANYTHING BUT THAT!!!" Neptune declares, "REMNANTS OF THE NEW FISHMAN PIRATES...! NOW, THEN..." A massive impact erupts as he announces, "FROM NOW ON, YOU WILL LIVE HERE, ON FISHMAN ISLAND PROPER." The crowd reacts with shock. In the lower panels, voices protest: "EVERYONE WILL BE TOO SCARED TO LET THEIR CHILDREN LEAVE THE HOUSE!!!" Neptune replies, "I MUST OBJECT, YOUR MAJESTY!!! WE CAN'T HAVE BRUTES LIKE THESE WALKING ABOUT OUR STREETS...!!!" Others comment, "SOUNDS GOOD TO ME. BETTER THAN BEING RULED BY HODY..." and "YOU MEAN WE HAVE TO LIVE BY THE LAWS OF THE KINGDOMI!" A fish-man yells, "WHATI!!"

Neptune continues his decree: "AND AS FOR THE LAWLESS 'FISHMAN DISTRICT' WHERE THIS TROUBLE BEGAN, FROM THIS DAY FORTH..." He states, "I WILL SEE TO IT THAT THEIR CONSIDERABLE PHYSICAL STRENGTH IS PUT TO GOOD USE. NATURALLY, THE CRIMINALS WILL BE PLACED UNDER THE DIRECT SUPERVISION OF THE NEPTUNE ARMY, AND MADE TO DO HONEST WORK!!" Text boxes emphasize: "...AND EMBODIMENT OF THE DARKNESS THAT HAUNTS THE WHOLE FISHMAN RACE..." and "THE PIRATE HODY JONES, TRUE ASSASSIN OF QUEEN OTOHIME..." Neptune concludes, "...IT WILL BE SEALED OFF ENTIRELY!!!" Another box reads: "...HIS AMBITIONS CRUSHED, IRONICALLY ENOUGH, BY A CREW OF HUMAN PIRATES VISITING THE ISLAND." A fish-man asks, "WELL, ACTUALLY... HE SEEMS TO HAVE RUN AWAY. RUN AWAYI!" Neptune wonders, "NOW, WHERE IS STRAW HAT LUFFYI"

A massive flying vehicle shaped like a shark soars through the skies above Fish-Man Island, carrying Jinbe, Nami, and Sanji away from the plaza. Voices debate their hasty departure. "COME ON, SERIOUSLYI AFTER WE MADE A GIANT SPECTACLE FIGHTING LIKE THAT IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE DAMN COUNTRYI" one exclaims. Another replies, "BUT WHY DID YOU ALL LEAVE THE PLAZA AS THOUGH RUNNING FROM SOMETHING...I" Jinbe answers, "IF WE'D HUNG AROUND, THEY MIGHT HAVE MADE US OUT TO BE SOME KIND OF HEROES!" Nami shudders, "JUST THE THOUGHT OF IT MAKES ME SHUDDER!" Sanji questions, "DO YOU NOT LIKE THE IDEA OF BEING HEROESI" Below, Nami presses Jinbe, "WHY WOULD YOU SAY NO, JINBEI!!!" while a small inset shows the earlier chaos. Sanji insists, "SERIOUSLY, WHAT'S UP WITH THIS LOGIC YOU PEOPLE HAVEI!!!" and declares, "I WANNA DRINK MY BOOZE!!!" Nami adds, "YOU KNOW WHAT A HERO ISI IT'S THE KIND OF GUY WHO SHARES OUT HIS DRINK WITH EVERYONE ELSE." She pleads, "C'MON, LET'S GO ADVENTURING TOGETHER!!!"

Jinbe firmly refuses the invitation. "I'M SAYING IT'S JUST NOT POSSIBLE RIGHT NOW, THAT'S ALL!!" he shouts, sweat flying. "I AM EXTREMELY GRATEFUL FOR THE INVITATION." Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper react with shock and excitement in the next panels. "YEAH, YOU SHOULD JOIN THE CREW, BOSS-MAN!!" Usopp urges. Chopper adds, "IT WOULD BE AWESOME TO HAVE A FORMER SHICHIBUKAI ON THE CREW!" and Luffy tells Jinbe, "AND LUFFY, YOU NEED TO REST." In a wider view, Jinbe explains his situation to the group including Brook and others: "I HAVE MY CURRENT POSITION TO CONSIDER. THIS LITTLE INCIDENT WAS BUT A NECESSARY DETOUR." He continues, "ONCE I HAVE FULFILLED MY DUTY AND AM FREE OF SUCH CONSTRAINTS..." Nami listens intently as Jinbe concludes, "IT WOULD BE A GREAT PLEASURE TO TRAVEL THE OCEAN WITH ALL OF YOU. BUT THERE ARE THINGS REMAINING THAT I MUST DO!!" Luffy stares in surprise. In the final close-up, Jinbe bows his head and promises, "...THEN I HOPE THAT YOU WILL INVITE ME ONCE MORE TO JOIN THE STRAW HAT PIRATES!!!...I PROMISE THAT I WILL FIND YOU AGAIN, WHEREVER YOU MAY BE. AND IF AT THAT TIME YOU STILL FEEL THE SAME WAY AS YOU DO NOW..." Luffy shouts back, "...YOU'D BETTER KEEP THAT PROMISE!!"

The Straw Hats and allies continue the conversation on the deck. A fish-man ally says, "A FRIEND OF LUFFY'S IS A FRIEND OF OURS. WE'RE ALL WAITING FOR YOU, JINBE!" while Brook laughs, "YOHO HO!" Sanji adds, "HEY NOW, DON'T PRESSURE THE GUY WHEN HE'S TALKING ABOUT DUTY AND HONOUR." Jinbe replies, "MY THANKS... AND MY APOLOGIES..." Nami smiles, "LUFFY CERTAINLY LIKES THIS MAN A LOT!" The group discusses next steps. Nami suggests, "SHE'S RIGHT! WE'LL JUST HAVE TO STAY ANOTHER WEEK OR SO AT THE MERMAID CAFE!!!" Sanji protests, "YOU CAN'T DO THAT...!!! WE HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO THANK YOU PROPERLY YET... WE'VE BARELY EVEN HAD CHANCE TO TALK!!" Luffy asks, "WH... WHATI! ARE YOU LEAVING THE ISLAND ALREADYI!" Nami wonders, "SO, WHERE ARE WE HEADING NOWI STRAIGHT TO THE NEW WORLDI" Franky senses trouble, "I SENSE ULTERIOR MOTIVES!! NOT THAT I'M ARGUING!!" Suddenly, a small figure bursts in shouting, "A BANQUETI!! LUFFY-KUN!!! WE STILL OWE YOU A PROPER BANQUET - WILL YOU NOT JOIN USI!!" Camie appears, "ALL RIGHT! LET'S GO GET HACHI AND CAMIE!!!" while an octopus-like figure is captured in the background. A voice calls, "PLEASE WAIT, PIRATES OF THE STRAW HAT CREW!! YOUR MAJESTY, WE HAVE CAUGHT UP WITH THEIR SHIP!" Jinbe responds, "I SEE."

The scene shifts to the sealed-off Fish-Man District. Signs read "KEEP OUT" and "SEALED OFF." with sound effects marking the closure. Nearby stands the massive Prison Tower. Another panel shows the grand entrance to Ryugu Palace. The narration states, "...LOCKED SECURELY AWAY." Fish-Man Island guards confront the massive Wadatsumi at the main entrance. One shouts, "...BUT YOU'RE FORBIDDEN FROM ENTERING THIS COUNTRY EVER AGAIN!!" Another adds, "WE DON'T HAVE A PRISON BIG ENOUGH FOR YOU, WADATSUMI..." They point upward and declare, "WE'RE COUNTING ON YOU, KRAKEN!! TAKE HIM AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN!!" The giant octopus Kraken grabs Wadatsumi and hauls him off. Elsewhere, fish-men excitedly prepare for the banquet. One yells, "I HEAR THEY'RE HOLDING A MASSIVE BANQUET WITH THE STRAW HATS AS HONOURED GUESTS!!" Another commands, "WE MUST PREPARE THESE AT ONCE AND DELIVER THEM DIRECT TO THE PALACE!" A striped-shirted fish-man hoists a massive barrel and replies, "LEAVE IT TO ME!!" A sign marks the area as Coral Hill. More workers shout about drink supplies, cakes, sweet snacks, and seaweed cake while loading carts with food, declaring the guests are big fans of sea-monster meat.

At the grand Ryugu Palace, a voice announces, "LET US RIDE THESE SPECIAL FLOUNDERS TO THE BANQUET HALL!!" Another states, "WE HAVE MUCH TO SPEAK OF, BUT THAT CAN WAIT UNTIL WE REACH THE BANQUET!!" King Neptune adds, "I MUST THANK YOU ALL FOR COMING, LUFFY AND FRIENDS!!" Luffy and a hooded figure with a spotted hat ride a giant flounder into a pitch-black water-filled room inside the palace. They wonder, "WHERE'S THE MEATI" and "WHAT IS THIS PLACEI" The hooded figure notes, "...IT'S A PITCH-BLACK ROOM FULL OF WATER!" and admits nervousness. Below, the stage lights up as someone shouts, "SOMEONE JUST CAME OUT!" The crowd cheers, "THE STAGE IS RIGHT AHEAD, EVERYONE!" and "THE HEROES HAVE ARRIVED!!" A voice yells, "THE MEAT IS ALL MINE!!" while another protests, "SHADDUP!! DON'T CALL ME A HERO!!" The floor is packed with soldiers as the banquet hall erupts in excitement.

The spotlight falls on a large mermaid singer with a pearl necklace. The announcer declares, "INTRODUCING FISHMAN ISLAND'S GREATEST DIVA... MARIA NAPOLE!!" She sings passionately, "AAAAAAAAA AAAHHH AAAA-AA-AAAAA AAAHHHH!" with musical notes swirling around her. Mermaid Cafe dancers then take the stage, twirling and posing as the crowd exclaims, "IT'S THE MERMAID CAFE DANCERS!!!" and "WHOO OOOAAR GHHH!!" One dancer warns, "CALM DOWN!!!" while another shouts, "SHUT UP!! AAAAHHH HHH!!!" The narration notes that men who gaze upon their beauty might even forget to breathe.

The banquet erupts into full celebration. Maria Napole shouts, "EAT, DRINK, SING, DANCE AND BE MERRY!!!" while mermaids and guests cry, "BRING ON THE FOOD!!!" and "あああ!!" Luffy and the Straw Hats party wildly alongside fish-men, mermaids, and skeleton musicians. Mermaids swim through the air carrying trays and instruments as bubbles and confetti fill the hall. A massive flounder carries more food and revelers. Everyone dances, drinks, and cheers under the palace lights. The enormous crowd raises glasses and sings along with the music, the entire hall shaking with energy as the feast reaches its peak.

A mermaid singer with a pearl necklace dances energetically on stage, arms raised as musical notes and large SFX swirl around her. She sings, "DANCING OF BREAMS ♪" and "AND PLAICES! ♪" while another mermaid plays a violin nearby. Below, the banquet erupts into wild dancing and laughter. Luffy grins broadly with his mouth open wide, surrounded by cheering fish-men and mermaids. A skeleton musician plays guitar as guests whirl and raise drinks. The party grows even wilder as a mermaid with long wavy hair laughs and dances while holding barrels. A massive fish-man with a crown-like hat and another with a beard join the frenzy, arms flailing. Musical notes float everywhere. A woman with dark hair smiles while holding a cup. Tables laden with food and sake sit ready. A dragon-like fish-man roars with laughter, "ギャハハハ!!" as the mermaid singer spins with a violin. The crowd cheers and dances beneath hanging lanterns and banners reading "竜宮".

In a quieter hall, a black-haired woman speaks seriously. A fish-man with a large crown and fluffy beard apologizes profusely, hiccuping, "NOW LOOK - HIC!! - HERE... I ALREADY HAVE A BEAUTIFUL WIFE NAMED OTOHIME TO WHOM I HAVE SWORN ETERNAL LOVE..." He adds, "I MUST APOLOGISE... THIS SEEMED LIKE THE BEST OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK TO YOU ALONE." The woman asks, "WHO EXACTLY IS 'JOYBOY'I" The fish-man continues, "I READ THE PONEGLYPH IN THE OCEAN FOREST." She presses, "WHO IS HE APOLOGISING TO, AND FOR WHATI" He replies, "NO... I WILL TELL YOU WHAT I KNOW." She warns, "IF YOU DON'T WANT TO TELL ME, THEN I WILL ASK NO MORE. I AM A SURVIVOR OF OHARA." The fish-man reacts with shock, "!!!" and "YOU ARE ABLE TO READ IT...I!"

The black-haired woman explains, "THAT PASSAGE WAS ADDRESSED TO A MERMAID PRINCESS WHO LIVED ON THIS ISLAND AT THE TIME." She continues, "...LIVED IN THE SURFACE WORLD DURING THE BLANK CENTURY." and "EIGHT HUNDRED YEARS AGO AT LEAST, THEN..." The fish-man king listens intently. She adds, "BUT IT IS SAID THAT ONE DAY, AN INDIVIDUAL WILL APPEAR TO FULFIL THE PROMISE IN JOYBOY'S PLACE." The king responds, "IT IS SAID TO BE AN APOLOGY FOR BREAKING A PROMISE THAT JOYBOY MADE WITH FISHMAN ISLAND..." He declares, "IT IS SAID THAT ONCE THE PROMISED DAY ARRIVES, THE GREAT SHIP NOAH WILL FINALLY FULFIL ITS PURPOSE...!!!!" and "TRUSTING IN THAT LEGEND, I AND MY PREDECESSORS HAVE PROTECTED THE NOAH FOR GENERATIONS. THAT IS OUR SIDE OF THE PROMISE."

A dark-haired woman speaks in profile, asking, "DO YOU KNOW IF THIS MAN 'JOYBOY' HAD SOME KIND OF ABILITY TO CONTROL THE SEA KINGSI" Multiple speech bubbles continue the discussion: "CARRIED BY THE SEA KINGS." IT WAS NOT JOYBOY WHO POSSESSED THAT POWER." Sound effects ring out "ビンチャン♪" as the mermaid princess Shirahoshi appears bound and distressed. The woman concludes, "I CAN IMAGINE. THE FACT TROUBLES ME GREATLY..." A later panel shows the damaged Noah in the distance while the woman asks, "...COULD IT POSSIBLY HAVE BEEN KNOWN BY THIS NAMEI" and "CAN YOU TELL ME IF THAT MERMAID PRINCESS WHO LIVED IN THE SAME AGE AS JOYBOY..." The final close-up reveals her intense eyes as she states, "IT INDICATED THAT THE WEAPON WAS HERE, ON FISHMAN ISLAND." "TWO YEARS AGO, ON AN ISLAND IN THE SKY, I READ A PONEGLYPH THAT TOLD OF THE LOCATION OF AN ANCIENT WEAPON."

The dark-haired woman continues, "...SHOULD ALSO BY RIGHTS INHERIT THIS SAME NAME." Sound effects "ビンチャン♪" punctuate the scene.
