Ohara vs. the World Government

The massive Tree of Knowledge stands on Ohara as Marines wait offshore. A voice asks, "DO WE HAVE AN ORDER YETI" Another replies, "STILL WAITING." Below, panic erupts as Marine warships flood in from the sea. "THE SCHOLARS' CRIME IS CONFIRMED!!!" someone shouts. Civilians and scholars run desperately across stone paths. "RUN FOR THE EVACUATION SHIP!!!" a man yells. "WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN...!!!I" cries another as smoke and debris fill the air near the towering tree. SFX: ゴゴゴゴゴゴ... and わああああああ.

Marines in hats examine a massive stone tablet amid ruined buildings. "IS THISI" "WHAT..." one asks. "THERE'S NO DAMAGE, EVEN IF WE BOMB IT OR DO ANYTHING ELSE TO IT. THIS SEEMS TO BE THE SO-CALLED... 'PONEGLYPH.'" another states. "WHAT A CREEPY STONE... AND THE WORLD'S DOTTED WITH THESE." Suddenly an explosion erupts. "WHOA!! WHAT'S THAT~!!I" "SHIT...!!! HOPE I AIN'T TOO LATE!" "HOW'D I NOT SEE DIS COMIN'...!!!I" SFX: レズンドズ~ and レズン!! and バキバキ~!

A giant rampages through the chaos. "GET AWAY FROM THIS ISLAND!!!" someone roars. "ROBIN!!!" "A GIANT!!!" "WOOA-AAAH!!" people scream as debris flies. In another scene, Marines report: "WE'VE FOUND THE EVIDENCE... SO WE'RE JUST WAITING FOR YOUR ORDER." "YES, THEY'LL BE SENTENCED TO DEATH." "I SEE. SO THAT WAS IT." A furious man with a long beard shouts, "STOP TRYING TO BE DIPLOMATIC, GOROUSEI!!! BUT YOU BROKE THE LAW. WE CAN'T LET YOU GO." A stern figure with a 9-marked chest replies, "IT IS INDEED REGRETTABLE... NO OTHER WAY." SFX: ビリビリ and わああああああああ!!

On a windswept cliff, Spandine confronts the scholars. "YOU'RE A GREAT CONTRIBUTOR TO THE WORLD'S CULTURE. I KNOW YOUR NAME WELL," he says to Dr. Clover. "DR. CLOVER OF OHARA, HUH...I THE AUTHORITY OF THE ARCHAEOLOGY," another voice notes. Spandine explodes, "BASTARD!! HE HOLDS THE HIGHEST AUTHORITY IN THE WORLD!!" A scholar gasps, "WHAT...!I HOW RUDE...!!!" Clover stands silent as "..." lingers. Spandine continues, "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'VE STRAYED FROM THE PATH..." Young Robin watches in shock as Spandine warns her, "YOU'LL BE ONE OF THE CRIMINALS IF YOU LISTEN TO MY STORY. ROBIN, GET AWAY FROM HERE!" Clover declares, "TO KNOW UNTOLD HISTORY. NOBODY CAN STOP THE DESIRE THE PAST BELONGS TO ALL MANKIND." Spandine retorts, "WHATEVER THE PAST IS, IF THAT'S THE HISTORY THAT MANKIND HAS CREATED, WE JUST HAVE TO ACCEPT IT!!!" He threatens, "EVEN IF YOU DON'T BEAR ANY ILL WILL, THERE MAY BE SOMEONE WHO'D TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE, SO IT'D BE THE SAME THING. YOU'D BE ABLE TO REVIVE THE ANCIENT WEAPON AND THE WORLD WOULD BE IN DANGER!! IF YOU READ THE PONEGLYPHS, IF YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THIS WITHOUT FEARING THE CONSEQUENCES, WE'LL BE ABLE TO TAKE COUNTER-MEASURES."

Beneath the massive Tree of Knowledge, Clover speaks: "OF ALL THE FACTS OF THE WORLD, THE ONE WE WANT TO KNOW THE MOST IS, OF COURSE, THE CONTENTS OF THE PONEGLYPHS AND THE REASON FOR THEIR EXISTENCE." Spandine replies, "IS THAT SOI I THINK IT'S RATHER CONVENIENT FOR YOU THAT WE AREN'T ALLOWED TO DO THAT. THAT'S JUST AN IDEALISTIC THEORY." Clover continues, "ENGRAVING THIS HISTORY ONTO UNBREAKABLE STONES AND SCATTERING THEM ALL OVER THE WORLD... IS IT BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT THAT IF THEY'D WRITTEN IT ON PAPER OR IN BOOKS, THE MESSAGE WOULD HAVE BEEN DESTROYED!I WHY DID PEOPLE OF THE PAST ENGRAVE TEXT ON HARD STONE IN AN ATTEMPT TO DELIVER A MESSAGE TO THE FUTUREI" A scholar asks, "WHAT ARE YOU IMPLYING, DR. The scene shifts to an image of a vast ancient city as Clover declares, "BY READING THROUGH THE DOCUMENTS FROM THE PAST AND SOME PONEGLYPHS THAT WE'VE FOUND, WE EVENTUALLY REALIZED THAT THERE ONCE EXISTED ANOTHER COUNTRY. NOTHING REMAINS OF IT, THE EXISTENCE OF THIS ENORMOUS KINGDOM...!!! BUT THE DOCUMENTS DID VERIFY IT."

Clover continues, "THEY ENGRAVED ALL THE FACTS ONTO THE STONES IN ORDER TO PASS ON THEIR IDEAS. LATER KNOWN AS THE WORLD GOVERNMENT, LIKELY, WHEN THEY REALIZED THAT THEY WERE ABOUT TO BE DEFEATED BY ALLIANCE POWER, BUT ANY INFORMATION REGARDING THIS COUNTRY HAS BEEN ENTIRELY ERASED. THAT IS THE PONEGLYPHS THAT WERE PASSED ON TO THE PRESENT WORLD...!!!" Spandine reacts with shock. Clover presses, "THE EXISTENCE AND IDEA OF THIS KINGDOM, AND THAT PRESENTS A THREAT TO YOUR 'WORLD GOVERNMENT,' DOESN'T IT!I THE 'ANCIENT WEAPON' IS SURELY A THREAT TO THE WORLD...!!! BUT... MORE IMPORTANTLY, THIS HISTORY WILL SURELY REVEAL..." Spandine mutters, "I SEE... THAT'S A BOLD HYPOTHESIS, ISN'T IT...I" Suddenly, a Marine shouts, "KILL HIM!" as a cannon fires with "ジャキン~" sound. Spandine glares, "IS THE NAME OF THE ONCE PROSPEROUS KINGDOM, BUT THE MOST ESSENTIAL THING THAT HOLDS THE KEY TO EVERYTHING WE WON'T KNOW WHAT THE THREAT IS UNTIL WE CLEAR THIS UP..."

A massive explosion rocks the scene with a thunderous ドォン!!I as a small figure is sent flying through the air amid silhouetted marines and scholars. Below, chaos erupts around the burning Tree of Knowledge. A bloodied scholar screams in rage, "BASTARD, HOW COULD YOU...!!I" while another panel shows a close-up of a terrified face shouting "DOCTOR!!!" A calm voice states, "OHARA"... A hand grips a weapon as an order rings out: "PREPARE FOR ATTACK." From the ships surrounding the island, someone yells "DR. CLOVER!!!" and another declares, "HAS LEARNED TOO MUCH......!!" The great tree stands engulfed in flames as the Buster Call fleet prepares its assault.

A blonde woman glares furiously as a marine shouts "NOBODY MOVE!!!" and another warns "YOU MUST NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO ESCAPE!!!" while a voice cries "DOCTOR!!" Young Robin lies on the ground, tears in her eyes, as a massive man with a bowtie roars "WAIT FOR ROBIN!!!" Evacuees rush toward a ship with cries of "HURRY TO THE EVACUATION SHIP!!!" and "GET ONBOARD, QUICKLY!!" Dr. Clover, wounded, pleads with Robin: "ROBIN... YOU FOOL...!! YOU MUST NOT STAY HERE...!!" Spandine smirks and pulls out a golden Den Den Mushi, declaring "... AND NOW, I'LL JUST USE THIS GOLDEN DEN DEN MUSHI THAT I GOT FROM ADMIRAL SENGOKU..." Robin screams "RUN!" as the snail activates with a loud だだだ.

Spandine grins viciously and presses the button with a sharp CLICK!!!, announcing "TO TRIGGER THE 'BUSTER CALL'!!!" and "I'LL LEAVE EVERYTHING ELSE TO YOU." Robin cries out desperately while a scholar tells her "DON'T BE SILLY AT A TIME LIKE THIS.!!" She sobs "NO... I DON'T WANT TO BE ALONE...!!!" as another urges "HURRY TO THE EVACUATION SHIP, ROBIN...!!" Realization hits: "HE DID SOMETHING..." Across the fleet, orders boom: "ALL SHIPS, MAKE READY! PREPARE TO FIRE!!!" The Golden Den Den Mushi blares "VEE VEE VEEVEE!!!" and "REQUEST FOR THE BUSTER CALL!!" Multiple snails echo the signal "VEE VEE VEEVEE!!!" as the deadly transmission begins.

A scholar protests "DON'T BE A FOOL!! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MANY IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS WE HAVE IN THERE...!I" Spandine replies coldly, "I DON'T KNOW. THE FIRE WAS PROBABLY CAUSED BY THE EXPLOSION EARLIER." An enraged scholar shouts "I THOUGHT ALL YOU NEEDED TO DO WAS BEHEAD US!!!" and "HEY, WORLD GOVERNMENT, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING!II" Robin stands frozen as voices demand "PUT OUT THE FIRE ON THE LIBRARY!!!" and "CLEAR THE WAY!" A marine decides "AH... FORGET ABOUT SHOOTING THEM. GOVERNMENT AGENTS, LET'S GO."

In the background, figures rush to salvage books while flames rage. Young Robin stares with wide eyes. A scarred man with a fierce glare declares, "THAT WOMAN KNOWS SOMETHING THAT NO ONE ELSE KNOWS, SHE CAN'T DIE JUST YET." Nearby, a long-haired woman whispers, "ROBIN..." as a small boy reaches toward her, calling "ROBIN-CHAN..." Voices urge, "PLEASE RUN AWAY... DON'T YOU DIE HERE...!!!" and "HURRY AND..." Robin's eyes widen in shock at the unfolding scene.

Young Robin's face fills with tears and anguish as she cries out, "ARE YOU MY MOTHER...I" Olivia stares back, bloodied and desperate. Robin presses, "ARE YOU GONNA GET ON THE SHIP OR NOTI!I" Olivia, on her knees, replies with pain, "NO WAY I CAN'T BE FORGIVEN NOW... I CAN NO LONGER CLAIM TO BE A MOTHER..." A figure lunges forward shouting, "I'LL HOLD HER BACK!! JUST GO!!!" Robin screams, "MOOOOM, WAAAAH!" as the scene shifts to distant figures on stone steps amid the ruins.

Cruel voices echo from Robin's past: "HER MOM ABANDONED HER." "MONSTER---! MONSTER---!!!" "WAS IT BECAUSE SHE'S A MONSTER!I" "SHE EATS TOO MUCH FOR A FREELOADER..." Young Robin, wearing a dress, apologizes, "I'M SORRY, AUNTY...! I JUST WANTED TO TRY IT ON." "ROBIN, THAT'S MY DAUGHTER'S DRESS!!" Standing alone before the giant tree and distant figures, Robin thinks, "MY MOTHER!I" as tears fall and she clenches her fist.

Robin weeps heavily, tears streaming down her face. Olivia, equally tearful, looks on with sorrow. In the distance, a group including a tall man in a coat remarks, "WHAT, YOU HAVE A KIDI" and "HMMI" Robin says softly, "...I'M SORRY." Olivia responds, "...!!!" A man questions, "OLIVIA-SAN..." Another states firmly, "NO." The tall man adds, "FORGIVE ME, ROBIN...!!! I DON'T WANT YOU TO BE THE DAUGHTER OF A CRIMINAL." Olivia concludes with a gentle smile, "I THINK... YOU'VE GOT THE WRONG PERSON..."

A young girl with dark hair stares forward with wide, tear-filled eyes, sweat and tears streaming down her face. Nearby, a tall stern man in a striped coat glares and mutters, "WEIRD KID....HMPH." He turns away with two other figures as someone calls out, "COME ON, LET'S GO!!" The girl stands alone on the shore, reaching out. In a massive close-up, an older Robin screams desperately, tears flying, "I'VE GROWN... BUT DON'T YOU REMEMBER ME!I I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOUR RETURN!!! I--!! I'M ROBIN!!!" Smaller panels show her walking behind the group and pleading, "AND WALK WITH YOU... SOMEDAY... I WANT TO BE ABLE TO HOLD YOUR HAND." A close-up of the tall man shows him covering his mouth in shock as Robin asks, "ARE YOU... REALLY NOT MY MOTHERI" Sound effects burst around the emotional confrontation.

A caption declares, "EVERYTHING ON THE ISLAND OF ARCHAEOLOGY, OHARA, IS THE TARGET!!!" Another box states, "WE'LL START THE BUSTER CALL NOW!!!" Robin cries out in anguish, "I'VE BECOME AN ARCHAEOLOGIST!!! I CAN READ THE PONEGLYPHS, TOO!!!"
