HUNTED!!

The chapter title page displays CHAPTER 36 “HUNTED!!”. In a quiet town square, Mohji rides a massive, snarling beast with a spiked collar while Cabaji balances on a large unicycle, gripping his sword. The beast looms aggressively on the left as Cabaji leans forward on the right, both figures charging forward with intense expressions. Japanese text at the bottom reads “巴其海賊團冒險記VOL.2 「摩奇與卡巴吉」” and credits note “THE ADVENTURES OF BUGGY'S PIRATE FLEET VOL.2 “MOHJI AND CABAJI””.

In a dense forest, Usopp runs ahead with his slingshot raised, shouting, “IS THE HYPNOTIST STILL AFTER USI” A smaller voice replies, “NO, I DON’T SEE HIM! MAYBE WE’VE LOST HIM” as SFX TAP TAP TAP... echoes. Usopp’s three young crewmates sprint alongside Kaya, who runs in her coat. One kid yells, “DON’T WORRY, KAYA-SAN! WE’LL PROTECT YOU!!” Another declares, “HE MUST BE DREAMING IF HE THINKS HE CAN CATCH US IN THIS FOREST!” Kaya, sweating and out of breath with SFX HUF HUF, answers softly, “...THANK YOU...” Usopp pumps his fist and cries, “THAT’S RIGHT! IN THE NAME OF THE USOPP PIRATE GROUP!!”

Massive trees crash down with violent SFX ZIIP ZIIP and SUPAPAPAPA as Kaya and the group are knocked off their feet. Usopp’s pumpkin-shaped silhouette appears in the foreground. Kaya gasps, “WHATI!” while Usopp stammers “WHA-”. A tall figure in a black hat and coat with circular weapons stands amid the destruction, declaring “NOT HERE...” as SFX ZUZUU sounds. The group stares in shock at the advancing silhouette.

Jango’s furious voice booms, “BRATS! WHERE ARE YOUI!I!”, accompanied by massive SFX GOOOOO and splintering wood. The group reacts in panic: “WHAT...I! I THOUGHT HE WAS JUST A NORMAL HYPNOTIST....!!!” “HE’S COMING!!” Jango’s face fills a panel, heart-shaped sunglasses visible as he roars, “DON’T THINK YOU CAN GET AWAY!!” He swings his weapons with SFX OOOOOOO, ordering, “CLEAR THE WHOLE DAMN FOREST!!” and threatening, “IF THAT’S THE CASE, I’LL JUST HAVE TO...”

Usopp stares in shock, sweat pouring down his face beneath his helmet and goggles. "WHAT WAS THAT NOISE...I!" he blurts out. In the distance, a wide view of the rocky cliffside path shows the Going Merry docked nearby and several small figures gathered. Kuro stands with his back to the viewer, addressing someone unseen. "Well, that's probably just Jango losing his temper," he says calmly. "You can see for yourself, but you will probably be too late..." A close-up shows Usopp gritting his teeth in frustration. "DAMN.....!!" he growls. Klahadore (Kuro) adjusts his glasses with a cold expression. "Can youI" he asks. Beside him, Jango, bloodied and gripping his chakrams, urges, "We'd better hurry."

Kuro smirks confidently. "As I've said before, Kaya is just a pawn in my plan," he states. "And if she dies, I might actually thank her..." A voice off-panel shouts "NO" while another balloon reads "Don't you have any feelings for herI!" and "You two have stayed together for three years!" Luffy, furious and sweating, glares at the scene. "I never thought of saving him!!" he yells. Zoro, swords drawn and bloodied, thinks, "This guy's beyond saving." Buchi charges forward with a massive spiked weapon, roaring "BUCHI!!" as he swings. "Oh, you can still move. Impressive," Kuro notes from afar. Usopp panics in the background. "There's not a second to lose...!!!!" he cries. "I can't let you do whatever you want!" he declares. Usopp adds desperately, "Must go and save them! Otherwise, they'll all be killed!!" SFX: DAA!!

Buchi swings his massive weapon with force. SFX: GUIII... Luffy and Zoro brace themselves. "Don't get in the way," someone warns. Buchi lunges with a fierce punch. "SHHYAAA!!" he screams. The impact sends debris flying. SFX: DOSULUUN...! Kuro's voice cuts through coldly. "You've messed around enough....!!" He appears in a blur of motion, blades flashing. SFX: DOSULUUN...! "In a hurry," he says as he strikes. "I won't kill you, if you just lie down quietly!!!" he threatens while pinning an opponent beneath his spinning blades.

Kuro's spinning attack lands with devastating force. SFX: DOSA...!!! The impact sends bodies flying across the rocky ground. Usopp lies pinned and battered, gasping, "I can't... move my body...!!!" Nearby, he mutters, "Da... damn it!!!" Luffy appears, eyes wide with alarm. "USOPP!!" he shouts. In the background, Kuro stands tall. "Even if you can caught up with Jango, you're still no match for him," he says. "It's probably safer for you to lie down here, anyway." Usopp, bloodied but defiant, bursts into wild laughter. "YOU'RE A JOKE!!" he roars. SFX: HAA HAA HAA HA

A battered figure lies amid debris, helmet cracked and face bloodied, yet he shouts with fierce determination, "I WILL PROTECT THEM!!!!" A second balloon continues, "EVEN IF I'M NO MATCH FOR HIM... I'LL STILL PROTECT THEM!!!!" Below, Luffy stares in shock, mouth agape. Usopp stands tense with wide eyes, labeled "USOPP..." Nearby, a bespectacled man reacts with "AHI" Suddenly Luffy lunges forward with a furious "ARRGHH!!!" SFX: BAM!! and GINN!! erupt as he clashes with a snarling, cat-masked pirate whose claws flash, "SHYAAA!!!"

The cat-masked pirate is sent flying through the air amid massive impact lines, SFX: ZUPANN!! Usopp remains on the ground but raises his head, declaring, "I'M A BRAVE WARRIOR OF THE SEA!!! I WON'T LET YOU HURT THE VILLAGERS!!! I'M THE CAPTAIN OF USOPP PIRATE GROUP....!!!" The Black Cat Pirates burst into mocking laughter, one jeering "GYAAHA-HAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHA!! SO PATHETIC!" while another adds "HEHEHEHE!! LOOK AT HIM, SHOUTING OUT LOUD IN A WEIRD STYLE LIKE THAT!!" SFX: BWA--HAAHAAHAA and OOWAH!! fill the panel as the crew points and howls.

Luffy's face fills the frame, eyes blazing beneath his straw hat as he growls, "IF YOU DARE LAUGH AT USOPP AGAIN, I WILL... KILL YOU ALL!!" The cat pirate recoils in terror. SFX: CLASH!! rings out as Luffy charges, shouting "YOU MORON" while the striped pirate retorts "...HEY! BUCHI NEKO" and "DON'T GET IN THE WAY" "I THOUGHT I ALREADY WARNED YOU..." Luffy swings his fist with a massive "SHHYAAAAA.....!!" The cat pirate's claws clash violently against him.

Luffy's powerful kick sends the cat-masked pirate hurtling backward in a whirlwind of motion lines and debris. The pirate's eyes bulge in shock, "!!!I" as Luffy yells "OUTTA THE WAY!!!" The striped outfit and claws of the Black Cat pirate spin through the air amid heavy impact SFX.

Even the hypnotized Buchi was... AHH...!!! The defeated cat-like pirate lies shocked on the ground as a tall figure in a black suit stands tall with a long blade extending from his sleeve. A large impact SFX echoes. In the next scene a short-haired woman grips a three-barreled weapon and shouts, "LUFFY, I'M GONNA TAKE USOPP AND GO AFTER THAT BASTARD HYPNOTIST!" while charging forward with CLINK SFX. Luffy in his straw hat and black vest runs ahead as Kuro, wearing glasses and a dark coat, blocks the path and calmly orders, "NOPE! GO QUICKLY!!" The woman clashes with an opponent amid GABAA SFX and asks, "DO YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEM WITH THATI" as motion lines fill the forest path.

The short-haired woman struggles while being grabbed from behind, protesting, "BUT WE'RE GOING INTO THE WOODS... AND IF YOU DON'T GUIDE ME, I WON'T BE ABLE TO FIND THEM" and adding, "IT WOULD ACTUALLY BE FASTER IF I GO ALONE." A masked figure sweats and stammers, "S... SORRY." Kuro blocks the path with arms spread, declaring, "WHO SAID YOU COULD GET THROUGH MEI" as the woman breaks free and runs. A large kick swings in with HYAA...!!! SFX. Luffy suddenly appears with a wide grin and shouts, "I DID!!!" while the masked man reacts in shock.

Luffy charges forward with a massive punch, yelling, "GO, ZORRO!! GO, USOPP!!!" as TAP TAP SFX marks footsteps and the short-haired woman is sent flying. Kuro blocks the strike with crossed arms amid heavy impact lines. In the next exchange the woman lands a punch, shouting "ANOTHER PUNCH!!" with a sharp CLACK SFX. Luffy is hurled backward through the air with a surprised "!I" as Kuro watches with a stern expression and large motion effects fill the forest path.

Luffy is flung high into the air with a startled "!I" and CHAKI... SFX as the short-haired woman tumbles away. He lands on the wooden path, eyes wide, and exclaims, "HE DISAPPEAREDI!" while scanning the empty forest clearing filled with motion lines and BACHI!! effects. Suddenly a powerful kick strikes from off-panel, sending Luffy sprawling with a loud "UWOAH!!!" as his body flips through the air amid heavy impact lines and debris.

Kuro glares with a fierce scowl as a powerful kick strikes him. Luffy stretches his leg back with the cry "GOMU GOMU..." and launches a devastating attack. The impact sends shockwaves through the air with a loud "PLAK" as Kuro is driven backward. In a massive splash panel, Luffy's foot extends like a spear from high above, crashing down with the shouted name "SPEAR!!!!" The force creates a massive crater and dust cloud below, leaving Kuro stunned with a shocked "!!I" expression as the strike lands directly on target.

Usopp runs desperately through the woods, shouting "NEVERMIND! THEY ALREADY GOT UP THE SLOPE...!" while a massive shadowy figure looms with the sound effect "GOOOO..." Kuro stands tall in his long coat, declaring "BEFORE WE FIGHT, I WANT TO ASK YOU ONE QUESTION..." A small figure with a cat-like mask reacts in shock: "TH... THAT KID. HE ACTUALLY DARES TO CHALLENGE CAPTAIN KURO...!!" Luffy appears in the foreground asking "YOU'RE A STRANGER HERE, WHY ARE YOU GETTING SO INVOLVED WITH THIS VILLAGEI!" as the tension builds with repeated "O..." sound effects echoing through the trees.

Luffy grins confidently in close-up, declaring "THAT I DON'T WANNA SEE DEAD!!! I HAVE A FRIEND IN THIS VILLAGE..." Kuro smirks and asks "ARE YOU REALLY OKAY WITH ITI AFTER ALL, IT'LL BE YOUR REASON FOR DYING... WHAT A SIMPLE REASON..." while giving directions: "THEN TURN AROUND AND GO RIGHT!! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHICH SIDE IS EAST! JUST SAY LEFT OR RIGHT!! EAST, EAST!! I TOLD YOU TO GO EAST!!" Luffy charges forward with a powerful punch, yelling "I'M NOT GONNA DIE ANYWAY!! THAT'S OKAY!!" as impact lines and "BATA BATA" sound effects fill the air.

In a forest clearing, Kuro stands among broken wooden pillars with dramatic impact sounds "BISHU... BAKI BAKI..." Jango appears with heart-shaped eyes and gloved hands raised, wondering "WHERE'D THEY GO..." while making a strange face. The Usopp Pirates and Kaya react in alarm as Jango lunges forward, shouting "WHAT ARE YOU SAYING!I WE ARE HERE TO PROTECT YOU, KAYA-SAN!!" Kaya gasps "UH... GASP... KAYA-SAN!!" The children cry out in panic with multiple "GASP..." sounds as the chaotic scene unfolds among the trees.

The Usopp Pirates panic in the woods as Kaya collapses. "But it's too dangerous to let her go on!!" one cries. "Idiot, we're running for our lives now!" another shouts. "We must take her to the doctor!!" they insist amid the chaos. SFX: WAAA! WAAA! GYAAA! Kaya hunches over, breathing heavily. "WHATI! HANG IN THERE, KAYA-SAN!!" a voice yells. "OH NO!! SHE LOOKS REALLY SICK!!" SFX: HUF HUF... The three kids regroup, faces set. "WE'RE GONNA FIGHT..." one declares. "OKAY!!" another agrees. "WE'LL HAVE TO MAKE A DECISION, USOPP PIRATE GROUP!!" they resolve. "ALL RIGHT, THEN..." In a dramatic reveal, a cloaked figure steps from the trees. "THERE YOU ARE" he says coldly. SFX: DON!! The children freeze in terror as the man in the long coat and glasses towers over them. A piercing scream erupts: "LIWAA AAAAA AAAHH HHH!!!"
