Ascendance

A massive impact shakes the scene as a figure lies sprawled on the wooden deck. Luffy stands with his back to the viewer, hat tilted, staring at the fallen opponent amid swirling smoke and debris. The man sweats and mutters, "RubberI" Nami exclaims, "RUBBER MUST NOT EXIST HERE ON THE WHITE SEAS." She adds, "OH, I SEE NOW..." The man questions, "Who in God's name are you...!I" A distant structure labeled "LEAP!" looms in the background.

Luffy is hurled through the air by a lightning strike but yells, "YOUR LIGHTNING WON'T WORK ON ME!" He twists mid-air, dodging another blast marked "DODGE" and "!!!!" The opponent intones, "Mantra." Luffy stretches his arm back and declares, "GOMU GOMU..." before unleashing a powerful strike with the sound effect "WHIP!" and "BZZZT!" as the attack connects.

Luffy stretches his rubber body with a loud "STRETCH!" as a massive spear-like attack hurtles toward him. The strike lands with a sharp "SPEAR!" and a crackling "BZZZZ", sending Luffy flying backward in a burst of impact lines. In a nearby panel, Luffy glares forward with intense focus. The attacker, a tall man with a staff and large ringed weapon on his back, stands silhouetted against the ruined buildings. The spear wielder lunges again, driving the weapon through Luffy's torso in a massive explosion of debris and motion lines. Luffy is slammed hard into the ground, the impact shattering stone as the attacker looms over him.

Luffy is hurled through the air by the force of the blow, his body twisting from the impact. The attacker follows up with a crushing strike from his massive ringed staff, producing a loud "GAHH!" Luffy crashes down with a pained "UGH!" as debris flies. Nami appears in close-up, eyes wide with shock as she cries out "LUFFY!" and "Ah-". Below, the attacker stands over the fallen Luffy, staff extended, and warns in a calm voice, "Don't get cocky."

Enel speaks while holding his staff, explaining "If shocks are ineffective, I have other ways of fighting you. Shocks are not the only thing lightning can do..." Luffy coughs violently with "cough..." and a pained expression. Enel continues his assault, declaring "PUNCHES AND BLOWS WON'T WORK ON ME EITHER!" as Luffy is struck again with crackling energy "BZZZZ!" and impact sounds. Luffy grits his teeth, growling "NGH!" and "Damn it! He's also using that power to read my movements!"

Enel narrows his eyes in thought, muttering "NO, WAIT... HE'S ONLY A PARAMECIA... HE'LL MOST LIKELY STILL HAVE TO RETAIN HIS PHYSICAL FORM... WHAT IN HEAVENS IS RUBBER...!I" He then unleashes a powerful technique, shouting "GLOAM PADDLING!" while thrusting his staff forward, shattering the ground. The weapon begins to morph and extend. Nami watches in alarm, noting "His staff... Is being morphed into a trident!" Luffy looks on with surprise as the transformation completes.

Enel looms over Luffy with his massive golden staff, declaring, "I have no time to waste playing with the likes of you!" as he drives the weapon down. "Consider this a physical manifestation of my thunder!" Luffy cries out in pain, "AGH!" In the next panels Luffy lies sprawled on the ground while Enel taunts, "Yahaha! Just as I suspected, you're weak to sharp things, aren't youI" A voice desperately shouts, "DON'T TELL HIM!" Luffy grits his teeth and begins to rise, growling, "GATLI-" before stretching his arm back with the words "GOMU GOMU..."

The massive golden ark stands empty as someone yells, "He's gone!" Luffy rockets through the air in a blur of motion. A crewmate screams, "LUFFY! BEHIND YOU!" and "PIERR!" as Enel suddenly appears behind him. Nami watches in horror, shouting, "He's moving through the gold!"

Luffy's face twists in fury as he charges forward. Enel looms over Nami with a cruel grin, raising his trident. Nami gasps in shock. Luffy is struck mid-leap, his body twisting violently as Enel drives the weapon into him. Nami stares wide-eyed from the side while Luffy is slammed against the golden structure.

Luffy's foot stretches back as he prepares another attack, "GOMU GOMU..." Enel sneers while gripping his trident, "Yahaha! You may be immune to electricity, but the electrical heat building up in my trident is another matter!" Luffy's massive stretched foot slams down. Enel counters with a devastating overhead strike, roaring "AXE!" The impact shatters the golden deck in a massive explosion of debris and lightning.

Luffy stretches his arm back with a fierce glare, shouting "GOMU GOMU..." as he launches into an attack. The opponent counters with a barrage of punches, yelling "YOU LITTLE BRAT!" while unleashing a rapid-fire assault labeled "GATLING!" Luffy's face twists in pain from the impacts, grunting "NGH!I" as the flurry of fists strikes him repeatedly amid motion lines and impact effects.

Nami shouts "LUFFY!" in alarm. Enel looms with his massive drum-like weapon, declaring "It's not as if your arms actually multiplied in number!" and "Hmph!" Luffy is sent flying. Yahahaha!" and "I will not be obstructed by some brat that popped up from the Blue Seas." Nami stares in shock as Enel's massive thunderous attack erupts with "VARI!" and "MAX 200 MILLION VOLTS!" She cries out "IT CAN'T BE!" amid the massive electrical discharge and debris.

The massive ark begins to lift with loud mechanical sounds "ゴン... ゴン..." and "ドゴゴゴゴ..." Pierre stands nearby as someone yells "The ship's starting to move! Oh no! What do we do, bird-horse!I" Enel spreads his arms wide, declaring "The ark that will guide me to Faerie Vearth... Look... It's lifting off..." Luffy screams "NAAAM!!!" while clutching his head. Nami panics, shouting "THIS IS BAD! THIS IS BAD! WE NEED TO GET OUT FROM HERE! LUFFY! HURRY UP AND BEAT ENEL!" Luffy yells "MAXIM!" as the structure shakes violently.

Nami clutches her head in panic, shouting, "STOP MAKING A FUSS!" A small panel shows her thinking rapidly: "NO, WAIT! IF LUFFY BEATS ENEL, THEN THIS SHIP WILL COME CRASHING DOWN! BUT IF ENEL ISN'T DEFEATED, THEN SKY ISLAND WILL BE DESTROYED! BUT WE CAN'T JUST STAY HERE AND GO TO WHEREVER HE'S TAKING US..." Luffy stands firm nearby as debris flies. In a massive close-up, Luffy glares with intense eyes and declares, "SHOULDN'T MAKE SUCH A PATHETIC FACE! A CREWMATE OF THE FUTURE PIRATE KING," while motion lines and sweat drops emphasize his resolve. Below, Gan Fall stands amid rubble and wreckage, reacting with "Pirate KingI" and "And what exactly would he be the king of...I" as the ruined structures and clouds swirl around them.

Luffy's face fills the panel with fierce determination as he roars, "THE KING OF ALL THE WORLD'S GRAND SEAS!" Massive bold sound effects "ゴゴゴゴゴゴゴゴ" shake the page.
