A THIEF'S PHILOSOPHY

In the ruined streets of Orange Town, Nami walks away carrying a large sack while a distant figure stands amid the rubble. A massive speech bubble declares, “PUT MY TREASURE DOWN!!” accompanied by the huge SFX “ゴォオオオ!”. Nami freezes in shock. Below, Buggy the clown appears in a dramatic close-up, arms spread wide, shouting, “LET ME SEND YOU PAINFULLY TO THE NETHERWORLD!!!” and “SINCE WHEN DID YOU THINK YOU COULD FOOL ME, NAMI!!!”. Nami’s face twists in panic as she exclaims, “CRAP! HE NOTICED ME!!”. Luffy stares up with wide, surprised eyes.

Luffy stands firm on the debris-strewn street as a massive impact sends a figure flying through the air with a desperate scream, "GYA-AAA-AAAH!" The attacker is hurled backward amid flying debris and impact lines. Luffy declares, "I'M NOT GIVING YOU A SINGLE THING!!" In the next panel Buggy's face twists in shock, eyes bulging as he chokes out "KUHCK!!" Below, Luffy lands from a high kick, sweat flying, while Nami's close-up shows her wide-eyed reaction, "HUHI"

Luffy's stretched leg delivers a powerful kick that sends Buggy sprawling across the ground with a pained "ARRR-GHHH!!" Buggy lies flattened, limbs splayed. Luffy stands over him and states, "...IS STILL ME" and "YOUR OPPONENT..." Buggy, sweating heavily, glares up and snarls, "D...DAMN GOMU GOMU KID!!! DARE TO KICK MY BOTTOM HALF...!!!" Nami, clutching a large sack of treasure, warns Luffy, "YOU'RE GOING TO GET CHASED DOWN AGAIN SOMETHING-OTHER-WISE!!" She adds, "OI!! PUT THAT TREASURE DOWN AND GO SOMEWHERE SAFER!!" while thinking to herself, "I'M ALIVE..."

The orange-haired girl clutches a large sack of treasure tightly to her chest while standing amid rubble. "Y...YOUR TREASURE...!I" a voice exclaims. She snaps back, "WHY SHOULD I LEAVE MY TREASURE BEHINDI!" and adds, "PUT THE TREASURE DOWN AND GO!I I DON'T WANT TO!!" In a dramatic close-up she shouts with fierce determination, "I'M TELLING YOU THIS TREASURE IS MINE!!! OF COURSE!!! SINCE I'M A PIRATE-TREASURE THIEF AND I JUST STOLE THIS FROM A PIRATE," her eyes blazing as impact lines radiate around her. From behind, a black-haired boy watches the scene, hand raised slightly. "I SEE..." he murmurs as small sound effects like "トン" and "ビーん" punctuate the tense moment. "AH..." he finishes quietly while the ruined town stretches in the background.

Buggy the clown pirate looms in close-up, face twisted in rage beneath his striped hat. "HOW THE HELL WERE YOU BROUGHT UPI!" he bellows. "WHAT NONSENSE!! THAT TREASURE'S MINE!! DO YOU THINK THAT IF YOU STEAL IT IT'S YOURS!II" A smaller panel shows a shocked reaction with "WHAT!I" Nearby, the orange-haired girl stands holding the sack and retorts, "STOP THAT NONSENSE... A LECTURE FROM A BAD GUYI" In the final panel she grins smugly with tongue out, large motion lines emphasizing her defiance. "TO BE LECTURED BY A PIRATE! I DON'T THINK I'VE DONE ANYTHING BAD ENOUGH," she declares confidently.

Luffy lies sprawled amid rubble as distant explosions echo, muttering "SRET!" while Buggy's severed hand floats nearby. In the next panel Buggy's furious face fills the frame, eyes bloodshot and jaw clenched, as he growls, "YOU'RE PREPARED FOR THIS, AREN'T YOU, NAMI...!!" A massive metallic clang SFX "カチーン" rings out. Below, chaos erupts: the massive lion Richie lunges with jaws wide, roaring "ACK!" as Nami desperately shields herself. Wooden debris and impact lines explode outward with SFX "POP!!" Luffy stares up in shock, shouting "WHATI" while the word "FESTIVAL!!!" slashes vertically across the panel.

Luffy sprints through the ruined street, fists clenched, yelling "DAMN IT! THERE SHOULD BE A LIMIT TO THIS BARA BARA!! IF IT'S LIKE THIS, THERE'S NO WAY I CAN FIGHT HIM!!" Buggy's floating limbs whirl around him with repeated "ヒュン" SFX as the clown cackles "KUHAHA-HAHAHA-HAHAHA!!!! SEE IF YOU CAN PROTECT YOUR FRIEND NOW!" In the lower panels Nami clutches a large sack and cries "I WON'T!! GIVE ME BACK MY TREASURE!!" Buggy's detached feet tap uselessly with SFX "タタタタ" while Luffy lunges, grabbing one and shouting "YOU FOOT! GOTCHA!!" Buggy's head gapes in surprise nearby.

Luffy sits on the ground gripping Buggy's detached foot and tickling it relentlessly. "TICKLE! TICKLE! TICKLE!" Buggy's head snaps up in shock. "HUHI" "むず...!!" Luffy grins while holding the foot. "HOW'S THIS!I" Buggy's face twists in uncontrollable laughter, eyes bulging. "GYAAAAAH...I!" "PUHEHEHE-HEHEHEHE-HEHE... ST... STOP... KUHEHEH!" SFX: CRACK! PINCH!! Luffy keeps tickling as Nami watches nearby. "YOU'RE PRETTY TOUGH..." Buggy yells in panic. "AHCK! WHATI!" "AAAAAHH...!!!"

Buggy's head screams while floating. "STOP IT YOU IDIOT!!" Nami clutches Buggy's body, yelling "KYAAAH...!!" Buggy's face twists in agony. "あああああああああああ!!" Nami glares with determination. "THE ONE THAT'S GOT TO STOP...!" Buggy lies defeated on the ground with a sweat drop. Nami stands panting heavily, hands on her knees. "PANT! PANT!"

A powerful kick sends a massive round object flying with explosive force and motion lines. A voice shouts, "IS YOU!!" Below, a bearded man with a wide grin exclaims "GRIN!" as the scene shifts. A blonde girl looks up in shock with wide eyes. In the distance, a black-haired boy stares at a pile of rubble and debris where a structure has collapsed, with smoke rising. Someone reacts with "OOH!!"

Buggy the clown pirate captain, wearing his striped hat and fur coat, grips a large white sack tightly with both hands and declares, "HAS BEEN RETURNED...!" and "THE TREASURE..." A girl with pigtails watches tensely from the side. In a sudden struggle, the girl yanks the sack away, shouting "HUH...!! LET GO!" as Buggy is pulled off balance. Buggy snarls back furiously, "THE ONE WHO SHOULD LET IT GO IS YOU!!!" The girl hesitates, sweat dropping, and murmurs "LET GO...I"

Buggy's body splits apart mid-air as he lunges forward, arms and legs flying in different directions. "IT'S MY TREASURE!!" he roars, his face twisted in rage. Massive impact lines and debris explode around him as his lower half crashes down. In the next panel Luffy is sent flying backward across the street, body stretched and limbs flailing from the force. "I JUST TOLD YOU THAT YOUR OPPONENT..." a voice says off-panel. Luffy skids to a stop on the ground, looking up in surprise. "EHI" he blurts, eyes wide.

Buggy's flying leg slams into Luffy with tremendous force. "EHCK!I" Luffy gasps as the kick connects. "IS ME!!!" Buggy's voice booms triumphantly. The impact sends Luffy tumbling across the ground. SFX: KICK!! Large motion lines emphasize the strike. In the following panels Luffy lies dazed on the street, Nami watches with a tense expression, sweat on her face, and Buggy's lower body remains visible in the background.

In a burst of motion, Luffy launches a devastating flying kick that connects with a loud impact, sending his opponent sprawling amid flying debris and motion lines. Large stylized SFX "カシャアーン" explode across the panel as the strike lands. The blonde-haired girl lies on the ground clutching her face. In the next wide panel the same girl shouts triumphantly from the foreground, "BULLS-EYE!!" while Luffy lands in the distance. Massive SFX "ズワーーン" and repeated "ドシャドシャ ドシャ..." fill the air as the impact ripples through the ruined street lined with damaged buildings and scattered onlookers.

Luffy grins widely while rubbing his cheek, declaring "WAS FOR THE VILLAGE CHIEF!" and noting "THAT LAST KICK..." with an SFX "SRET" as he stretches his face. In the following panels he stands with hands on hips, telling the blonde girl "HMMM... DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT." She replies softly "THANK YOU. THANKS TO YOU, I'M ALIVE" while looking at him with wide eyes. The scene shifts to the devastated street where the girl cries out in shock, "AAAH!! MY TREASURE GOT SCATTERED EVERYWHERE!!" Luffy turns and remarks "OH YEAH! THE MAP..." as debris and wreckage litter the ground around them.

Luffy thrusts the rolled-up map forward with a huge grin, shouting triumphantly, "I'VE FINALLY GOT IT. THE 'GRAND LINE' MAP!!" and "ALRIGHT!!" as speed lines burst around him. In the next panels, Nami turns sharply with a startled expression, exclaiming "WAIT, GOMU GOMU KID!!" while Zoro stares in surprise, muttering "WAIT....!" Buggy's scattered body parts lie on the ground as the clown pirate's head yells desperately, "BARA BARA PARTS!!!" and "GATHER UP!!" From a distance, Buggy's reassembled upper body glares furiously at the group and roars, "I'LL KILL YOU ONCE AND FOR ALL!!" Someone notices the pirate still standing and asks in shock, "EHI YOU'RE STILL ALIVE"

Buggy's face twists in utter shock, eyes bulging as he screams "EH!!!I" with a massive "BO-N!" sound effect exploding around his floating limbs. In the ruined street, Nami stands confidently with one hand on her hip, holding Buggy's detached hands and feet with a rope. She smiles slyly and says, "FOR THESE, WOULD YOUI" and "YOU WOULDN'T HAPPEN TO BE LOOKING..." Luffy reacts with surprise in the background. Nami continues, "LEAVE THE REST TO ME!!" while laughing, "A THIEF DEFINITELY HAS SOME COOL SKILLS!" and "HAHAHA-HAHAHA-HAHAHA!!" as she tightens the rope around the struggling limbs. Luffy is yanked off-balance with a startled "うよ" and impact lines, while Nami's triumphant pose dominates the final panel with motion lines and the sound effect "どきっ".

Buggy's face twists in terror as he screams "STOOOOO OPPP!!!" Luffy glares with a fierce grin and declares "GET LOST, BUGGY..." while beginning his stretch. The attack builds with the onomatopoeia "GOMU GOMU..." and the SFX "STRETCH!!!" In the massive lower panel Luffy launches his full-power strike, arms extended wide as bold Japanese impact lettering and the cry "BAZOOKA!!" explode across the page. Buggy is sent flying amid the chaotic force of the Gum-Gum Bazooka.
