Chapter 181 'Super Spot-Billed Duck Quiz'

A vast desert landscape stretches under dramatic sound effects “オオオオオオオオオオ…” and “ドドドドドドドド…!!”. A speeding vehicle kicks up dust with large onomatopoeia “ドドドドドド”. Inside the vehicle, a man with goggles shouts, “We’re set to arrive at the capital in 30 minutes or less!” Another replies, “Kouza!” A third voice declares, “We’re still a ways off… But that’s Alubarna, no doubt about it!” From the side, someone yells, “I SEE IT!” The vehicle races across the dunes toward distant mountains.

A fierce warrior with tattoos and a rifle raises his fist, shouting “OHHHH!” as impact lines burst around him. Text declares, “ALUBARNA IS CLOSE! TIME TO RAISE YOUR FIGHTING SPIRITS, COMRADES!” In the next panel, a commander orders, “I WANT THE EAST, WEST, SOUTH, SOUTHEAST, AND SOUTHWEST GATES COMPLETELY FORTIFIED!” A report states, “COMMANDER CHAKA! REBELS SIGHTED 15KM SOUTH OF HERE!” Below, soldiers salute with “YES, SIR!” while one warns, “DON’T LET A SINGLE REBEL SET FOOT IN THE CAPITAL!” Chaka glares forward with intense expression.

At the Western Gates of Alubarna, a map labels the South Eastern Gates Front Entrance. Civilians and guards watch the distant city. One asks, “Are the princess and the pirates even going to show upI” Another replies, “W-whoa, whoa, whoa! Are you kidding meI” A voice notes, “You can already hear the rebels from here!” In a group, a man with curly hair says, “Heeerrree theeyyy aaareee” while another responds, “Oh reallyI” Discussion continues: “After all, they lost a lot of time being tied up in Rainbase.” “There’s a good chance they won’t make it here before the rebels.” “At this rate, the rebels are going to get here first!” A man with sunglasses exclaims, “Aretheyeventryin’tostopthisrebellionorwhat!I” Below, a swan-costumed figure with question marks wonders, “Then just what are we supposed to do…I” as another concludes, “So if the rebels get here before they do…”

Two suited agents confer in close-up. The bald man with a scar says, "We'll eliminate the princess as ordered by the boss." His partner replies, "Our objective remains unchanged." The afro-haired woman adds, "Once a battle starts, then there's nothing someone can do to stop it, even if it's the princess!...There's nothing we really need to do in that case." Below, a robed man lies in bed groaning "Heeeeerreee..." as the afro woman stands over him. A caped man with a staff shouts, "ACK! MY HIP! MR.4! MASSAGEME A.S.A.P.!" and "Knock it off, you two." The woman retorts, "YOU SAYIN' YOU WANT A TASTE OF MY OKAMA KENPO!I" and "Can't okamas even make such simple judgmentsI" A small creature reacts with "パチーー!!" and "くぇっ". In the next panel the sunglasses-wearing man yells, "Mmmmee... TELL US SOONER, YOU SLOW-WITTED SLOW-POKE! WHAT!I" while distant figures call "Coooo..." and "Theeeevyy...".

A man with an enormous afro and binoculars peers ahead, muttering "D..." as a thought bubble shows "...!!". Through a wide circular frame he spots a line of running ducks across the desert and exclaims "DUCKS!I" with motion lines "ドドドドドド". In a lower panel he studies bounty posters of the Straw Hat crew. Crossed-out images show Nami, Usopp, and Sanji. He reads, "According to the list, there should only be 4 pirates, excluding their captain Straw-Hat! AND THERE'S MORE OF THEM THAN THERE SHOULD BE!" The afro woman beside him asks, "DucksI What on Earth are you saying, Ms. Merry ChristmasI" He answers, "I SEE 6 OF 'EM!"

Close-ups show the bald agent declaring, "Our target is Princess Vivi alone..." and "Don't panic, you idiot. No matter how many more pirates there are," while the afro woman notes, "So it's not surprising even if there's just one or two more." Another voice adds, "There's also an unidentified 'Mr. Prince' among the pirates." The bald man finishes, "Not quite, Ms. Merry Christmas... Remember what the boss told usI" A wide panel shows the sunglasses man dramatically shouting, "JUST HOW LOONY DOES THIS PRINCESS HAVE TO BE IF SHE THINKS SHE CAN STOP THEM ALL! BUT HERE COMES THAT SILLY GOOSE FROM OVER HERE!" with sound effects "キロロ キロロ". The afro woman points, "OH, LOOK! YOU CAN SEE THE REBELS COMING NOW! WHOOO BOY, THERE'S SURE A LOT OF 'EM!" Below, the sunglasses man sweats and says, "So all we gotta do is kill one little girlI That's nice and all but..." while a cloaked figure labeled "Mr. 1..." stands in the distance and a small winged figure cries "AMBIGUOUS!"

A hooded man with a wide eye shouts in panic, "DAMMIT! NOW WE CAN'T TELL WHO'S WHO!" as motion lines and SFX "ビオオオオオ" and "オオ..." fill the panel. A wide desert view shows a flock of Super Spot-Billed Ducks in flight and running, with large onomatopoeia "ドッドッドッドド..." and "どどどどどど!!". The hooded man yells, "WHYDON'CHA TELLUSWHICH ONE'S THE PRINCESS!I" while the sunglasses man cries, "GET'EM, MR.4!" and "IT'S TOO AMBIGUOUS!". The afro woman states, "And those birds are Super Spot-Billed Ducks, Alabasta's fastest animals!" A cloaked man and woman stand together as a small figure shouts, "AGHHH! THEY'RE ALL COVERED WITH THE SAME CLOAK!" with impact effects "!!!!" and "ど!! くっ!!".

A massive impact erupts as a duck in a helmet crashes forward with explosive force, the panel filled with speed lines and the huge SFX "ズゴォッ!!!". A baseball rolls to a stop with the sound "トコトコ..." and a small "コ...". The duck squad races across the desert at top speed, dust trailing behind them. One duck is struck hard, sent flying with a loud "ボカーン!!!" and a desperate "QUACK!". Another duck yells "DASH!" while a voice shouts "GET AWAY!" as the group presses onward through the chaos.

A man with an afro shouts, "THEY MUST BE TRYING TO REACH THE SOUTHERN GATES!" while another yells "DASH...". Close by, a furious face declares "2 OF THEM SPLIT OFF AND ARE HEADED SOUTH!" and "THEY DODGED IT! DAMN, THOSE BIRDS ARE FAAAST!". Mr. 4 appears, firing his cannon with a massive "ビヒュン!!!" as he calls "LET'S GO, MR. 4!" and "LEAVE THOSE TWO TO US!". A worried voice notes "The Southern Gates is where the rebels will strike! Then does that mean Vivi's one of those two...!I". In the next moment a powerful attack launches with the cry "FLAME STAR!" and the grim words "CERTAIN KILL...".

Vivi warns from the side, "Vivi might be one of them! Mr. 4!! Two others also split off from their group just now!" as the duck squad continues its frantic dash with "QUACK!" and heavy impact SFX. A voice states "They're headed for the Western Gates." Mr. 4, standing beside a woman with a large weapon, growls "SON OF A...!" and orders "LET'S GO AFTER THEM!". The panel erupts with a close-up of a shocked face yelling "HMM!I" amid more explosive motion lines.

High above the city gates, a duck shouts "Head to the Southwestern gates!" while another cries "QUACK!" and a figure screams "GAHHH!" as debris flies. A map of Alubarna's five gates is shown, with narration explaining the routes. A man with a wide grin roars "I WON'T LET YOU ESCAPE!" while thinking "Their plan must be to split off and enter the city from each of those gates! Fine, we'll do the same and kill each of them inside the city!" and "Out of the 5 gates to Alubarna, there're only 3 gates they can enter arriving from the West!". Below, a guard yells "NO, WAIT! THAT'S THE SUPER SPOT-BILLED DUCK SQUAD! LET THEM THROUGH!" as another warns "HEY, SOMEONE'S COMING UP! ARE THEY ENEMIES!I" with a final "QUACK!".

A massive horned silhouette looms as a striped figure stands in the square shouting "WHAT!I" while two voices laugh, "You did a good job following us all the way in! Hahaha!" A scarred man sweats and stammers, "WHAT THE HELL AR- I mean... What are you sayingI I'm the real Vivi." The woman in the dark outfit plants a hand on her hip and declares, "You two have good instincts! You guessed right, I'm Vivi! Hold it!" She then raises an arm and announces, "Allow me to show you who we really are!" A large hand thrusts forward with a dramatic "ばっ" as the group mounts the Super Spot-Billed Ducks. One rider calls out "Hm!I" while another says, "This should be far enough..." The ducks begin to move, kicking up dust in the Arabasta streets.

A long neck whips through the air with loud "しゅるるる..." and "WHIRR" sounds as heavy "THUMP" impacts shake the ground near the cliffs. In the rocky wasteland Vivi runs while thinking, "I have to hurry... The rebels are almost here already." She turns back, waves both hands, and cries, "THANK YOU, EVERYONE!" The ducks respond with "QUACK QUACK" sounds. Vivi then shouts "CARUE!" as Karoo leans in close with an open beak, replying "LET'S GO," while more "QUACK!" and motion lines burst around them as they race away.

Usopp flails with wide eyes and an open mouth while Zoro grins fiercely, Sanji smirks with a cigarette, Chopper cries with tears streaming down his face, and Nami sticks out her tongue in a playful wink. A large central speech bubble declares, "TOO BAD, SO SAD! BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME!" accompanied by dramatic impact lines and "VOHH..." sound effects as the crew reacts with exaggerated expressions.

In the city square the duck troops panic as one cries, "P-PLEASE GO EASY ON US!" while another points and yells, "AND YOU! YOU'RE THAT PIRATE FROM BEFORE! A CAMEL!I" A large "ギャー" scream echoes. In a rocky, ruined town square lined with broken pillars and palm trees, several figures stand alert. A large man with a massive weapon on his back and a small curly-haired person stare in shock as a voice exclaims, "WHAT!I" Nearby, a man in a hat and a woman with a cross-shaped staff react calmly. Someone chuckles, "Heh heh. The rebellion ain't gonna start now." Suddenly a cloaked figure riding a large bird-like creature launches into the air with dramatic speed lines and impact effects, cape billowing. The rider declares, "IF I DON'T STOP THE REBELS HERE, EVERYTHING WILL HAVE BEEN IN VAIN!" The creature cries "QUACK!" as it flies forward with motion lines and the sound effect "オオオオオオ..." trailing behind.
