CUNNING

Usopp, wearing his bandana and goggles, shouts with mouth wide open, “SURE THING, USOPP! I’LL GET HIM THIS TIME ONCE AND FOR ALL!” while gripping his slingshot. Beside him, Brogy laughs heartily, “GABABABABA!” and cheers, “GO GIVE IT YOUR ALL, MASTER BROGY!”. The scene shifts to a jungle path where a figure runs forward as sound effects “ドシーン ドシーン” echo. Nami stands with hands on hips, saying “DON’T YOU DARE CALL IT POINTLESS, YOU IGNORAMUS!” while Vivi replies, “THEY SURE DO LIKE THEIR FIGHTING…”. In the lower panels, Nami tells the group, “WAIT A SECOND! WAIT!” then discusses plans: “WE’LL WAIT FOR EVERYONE TO RETURN TO THE SHIP AND THEN PLAN OUT WHAT TO DO.” Vivi adds, “I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S GOING TO TAKE A FULL YEAR FOR THE LOG TO FINISH RECORDING! IT’S ABSURD!” and concludes, “IN ANY CASE, LET’S RETURN TO THE SHIP FOR THE TIME BEING.”

Usopp dramatically declares with arms raised, “THEREFORE, IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR US TO SAFELY MAKE IT OUT OF THE JUNGLE AND BACK TO OUR SHIP!” and “I MUST ANNOUNCE THAT I WOULD BE UTTERLY USELESS IN FENDING OFF DINOSAURS, GIANT MONSTERS, AND THE LIKE!”. Nami responds calmly, “LET’S GO MEET LUFFY AND VIVI ARE SUPPOSED TO BE BY THE OTHER GIANT’S HOME, FIRST.” Vivi agrees, “YEAH, BUT THE KEY WORD IS BECOMING!” while recalling, “WASN’T IT JUST A MOMENT AGO WHEN YOU BOLDLY DECLARED SOMETHING ABOUT BECOMING A BRAVE WARRIORI”. Usopp continues passionately, “I WANT TO EVENTUALLY BE ABLE TO TAKE PRIDE IN MY WAY OF LIFE BUT I’M NOT QUITE AT THAT STAGE YET!”. In a close-up, he yells with fierce determination, “I’D LOOK BACK PROUDLY AT MY LIFE AND AS I DIE, I’LL YELL, ‘I AM USOPP, BRAVE WARRIOR OF THE SEAS!’” adding “NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, ONE DAY… EVEN IF I WERE TO DIE ALONE ON A DESERTED ISLAND…”.

Nami walks through the jungle pulling a rope attached to Karoo the duck, who follows behind. She says, “JUST TRY TO TURN INTO A RELIABLE WARRIOR BEFORE WE DIE OF OLD AGE, OKAYI” while Usopp mutters, “YEAH, YEAH… THAT’S HOW MY LAST MOMENTS WILL BE!”. Karoo quacks, “YUP!” with sound effects “すた すた すた”. Nami replies with a sweat drop, “UH, YEAH…”. Suddenly, large impact effects “ドゴォォ” and “バン! バン!” erupt as Luffy bursts from the foliage, shouting “MOVE YOUR DAMN HOUSE OFF OF ME!” and “AHHH! WHAT’RE YOU DOING!I” while flailing on the ground.

A towering warrior in a dark cape stands amid clouds and jungle, sword drawn, as massive SFX echo オォォォ.... He declares, "YOU CAN'T STOP ME." In close-up, the helmeted giant with flowing hair and scars growls, sweat flying: "IT MAY HAVE BEEN OVER A HUNDRED YEARS AGO... SINCE THIS BATTLE BEGAN... BUT RUNNING AWAY FROM A BATTLE THAT HAS ALREADY BEGUN, IS TO RUN AWAY FROM BEING A WARRIOR." Below on the ground, Luffy lies half-buried in dirt with a dazed expression while a long-haired woman in a striped top stands nearby. She finishes the giant's thought: "IS TO NO LONGER BE MYSELF." The giant concludes, "AND TO NO LONGER BE A WARRIOR."

Luffy's face twists in shock and fury, sweat drops flying as he stares up. The caped giant, seen from behind with sword planted, speaks solemnly: "FOR DOUBTING YOU LITTLE ONES... MY APOLOGIES," followed by "THIS IS MERELY THE JUDGMENT OF THE WARRIOR GOD, ELBAF...!" He adds, "ALL IT MEANS, IS THAT I AM NOT BLESSED BY HIS DIVINE PROTECTION...!" Luffy erupts in a massive close-up, mouth wide, yelling, "IF YOUR GOD TOLD YOU TO DIE, WOULD YOU WILLINGLY KILL YOURSELF!I ENOUGH ABOUT GOD, DIVINE PROTECTION, AND WHATEVER! THAT DOESN'T MATTER AT ALL!"

The giant swings his massive sword down at Luffy, impact lines and dust exploding as Luffy is knocked back. Luffy shouts, "A DUEL THAT'S BEEN MANIPULATED BY A THIRD PARTY ISN'T A PROPER DUEL ANYMORE! SOMEBODY ELSE UNFAIRLY INTERFERED WITH YOUR DUEL!" The giant's face fills the frame, teeth gritted, eyes wide: "COULD NOT POSSIBLY COMPREHEND ELBAF'S DIVINE WORDS...! A LITTLE ONE LIKE YOU WHO HAS ONLY LIVED A MERE 10 OR 20 YEARS, SILENCE..." Luffy is sent flying through the air amid huge SFX ゴォッ...!!! and ガン!! ガン!! ガン!!, yelling "JUST GET THIS OFF OF ME! HELL IF I CARE!"

In a jungle clearing with massive broken swords and palm trees, the two helmeted giants stand laughing uproariously. One giant, Dorry, clutches his helmet as huge SFX くくく echo; he roars, "'COURSE! IT TASTED OF GOD!" The other giant, Brogy, laughs "GABABABABA! DORRY! AFTER ALL THESE YEARS OF DRINKING ONLY WATER, THE RUM MUST'VE TASTED ESPECIALLY FINE, RIGHT!I" In a lower close-up the two continue their boisterous exchange, Brogy coughing "COUGH" while Dorry shouts "GEGYA-GYAGYA-GYA! HERE I COME!" and Brogy replies "GABABABABA! AREN'T YOU A POET!"

Luffy's fist slams forward with explosive force, sending a massive impact through the air as the giant reels back. "UGH...!" the giant grunts. In the next moment the giant's massive hand swings down, striking Luffy and sending him flying amid clouds of debris and impact lines. "LUFFY... JUST WHEN I THOUGHT I HAD MET AN AMAZING WARRIOR...!" the giant roars while the blows land, "ARGH-HHH! AHHH-HHHH!" Nearby, Nami stands with a tense expression, sweat on her face, thinking "...!I CARUE'S NOT HERE... JUST WHO IS IT THAT DID SUCH A LOWLY ACT...! WHY IS HE GOING SO FAR FOR A GIANT HE JUST MET A MINUTE AGO...I IS THIS REALLY THE WAY A WANTED CRIMINAL ACTS...!I"

Mr. 3 stands with a confident smirk, his candle-shaped hair prominent, declaring "THEY'RE NOW IN A STATE OF CONFUSION. PSYCHOLOGICAL DISTURBANCES CAN OFTEN GREATLY INFLUENCE THE COURSE OF A BATTLE, YOU SEE. WITH THAT EXPLOSIVE GIFT FROM AN UNSEEN ENEMY..." Miss Goldenweek stands beside him holding candles, adding "THOUGH I KNEW THE ATTACK WOULDN'T KILL HIM, THE DAMAGE TO HIS STOMACH IS STILL SEVERE...! THE FIRST TARGET, IS DORRY THE BLUE OGRE." In the background the giant Dorry sits weakened and smoking. Mr. 3 continues, "IT'S BEST TO THINK OF THIS RACE OF 'WARRIORS' AS MERE BOARS. AS LONG AS WE AVOID A DIRECT CONFRONTATION, THEY ARE OF NO REAL THREAT, YOU SEE. WE NO LONGER NEED TO WORRY ABOUT HIM. LUCKILY FOR US, THEIR LITTLE FIGHT HAS BEGUN AGAIN AS WELL."

Mr. 3's gloved hand rests over several wanted posters spread on a checkered floor, including those of Nami, Zoro, Luffy, and Sanji. He says "LET US LURE THEM OUT ONE BY ONE TO MY 'SERVICE SET'... STARTING WITH THE EASIEST TO HANDLE, AS FOR THESE SMALL TIME PIRATES WHO'VE LEARNED THE BOSS' SECRET..." In close-up Mr. 3 grins widely, eyes narrowed behind his glasses, "FUFUFUFU... I HAVE MANY WAYS TO DEFEAT MY ENEMIES WITHOUT ACTUALLY FIGHTING! AS MY MOTTO GOES, 'THE GREATEST OF CRIMES REQUIRE CUNNING'..." Elsewhere Sanji sits with a hand behind his head, looking annoyed and muttering "AH CRAP."

Usopp wanders through a dense jungle filled with hanging vines and massive leaves, carrying his slingshot and muttering "I FEEL LIKE I'VE SEEN THIS TREE BEFORE... WAS I SUPPOSED TO TAKE A LEFT AT THE TREE WITH IVY...I I'M LOST." A large dinosaur-like creature looms nearby. Suddenly he spots Nami and brightens, "I DIDN'T KNOW WHICH WAY OUR SHIP WAS SO I WAS WONDERING WHAT TO DO... NAMI! GREAT TIMING!" Nami turns with a surprised "AH!" and later appears in another panel saying "HELLOI" while Usopp reacts with "HMI" In the final panel Sanji arrives dramatically, asking "WHAT ARE YOU DOING OUT HEREI BY THE WAY," as the dinosaur reacts with motion lines and the sound effect "ドーン" echoes.

In the dense jungle, a massive dinosaur suddenly appears with a thunderous roar. A panicked voice screams, "IT'S A DINO-SAUR!" as another yells "GYAA-AAAA-AAAA!" The beast charges forward, bellowing "DINOO-OOOO-OOO!" Usopp sprints desperately through the trees with the dinosaur hot on his heels. Nami, running behind him, pants heavily and shouts, "JEEZ, THAT USOPP... WAIT UP! YOU'RE RUNNING WAY TOO FAST!"

Luffy suddenly appears with a grin. Nami spots him and cries out in relief, "LU... THANK GOD YOU'RE HERE. WHAT'RE YOU DOING HERE ANYWAYSI" Luffy replies, "AH, LUFFY!" The dinosaur's roar echoes again with "KYAA-AAAAA!" as chaos erupts. Nami is yanked away violently. Luffy looks around in shock and calls out, "NAMII" while an unseen voice stammers "N..."

Usopp, wearing his helmet, gasps "OH SHL..." as he searches frantically, shouting "NAMI!I NAMI!I" The jungle shakes with impact sounds and a massive "DRRRRRRRRROOOONNN!!!" Luffy stares in horror at the scene. A large panel shows Luffy's face twisted in panic as he yells, "NAMI WAS EATEN BY A DINOSAUR! LUFFY!"

Luffy roars in disbelief, "FOR REAL!I" while recalling the chase: "WHAT DO I DO!I I JUST LET OUR CREWMATE DIEI WE WERE BOTH RUNNING AWAY FROM THE DINOSAUR IN THE JUNGLE BUT SHE DISAPPEARED ALL OF A SUDDEN..." Usopp panics, "IF NOT A DINOSAUR, THEN SHE MUST'VE BEEN EATEN BY SOME OTHER WILD BEAST!" Nami's voice questions the situation, "YOU SAID SHE DISAPPEARED ALL OF A SUDDEN. BUT DID YOU ACTUALLY GO BACK TO SEE IF SHE WAS EATEN!I" She continues, "IT WOULD MAKE SENSE FOR THEM TO HAVE ONLY ATTACKED NAMI. AFTER ALL, YOU'RE PROBABLY NOT ON THEIR HIT LIST... IF BAROQUE WORKS' AGENTS HAVE TAILED US TO THIS ISLAND, I CAN'T SAY THIS FOR CERTAIN, BUT..."

The small onlookers react in shock as a barrel of rum explodes violently inside one giant's stomach. "WHAT!I IT EXPLODED INSIDE HIS STOMACH!I" one cries. The other two figures stare at the fallen barrel and exclaim, "RUMI WHAT ABOUT THE RUMI" and "AND EVEN THAT BARREL OF RUM... PERHAPS IT WAS ORIGINALLY MEANT TO KILL US...!" In the distance the two towering giants continue their century-long clash amid smoke and debris. Narration declares, "IT'S... PROBABLY THE MOST INTENSE FIGHT FOR PERSONAL PRIDE AND HONOUR IN THE WORLD!" One small figure replies simply, "YEAH." The narration continues, "BUT THOSE TWO HAVE BEEN FIGHTING FOR A HUNDRED YEARS! THEY ALWAYS FIGHT AT FULL POWER AND THEY'VE STILL YET TO DECIDE A VICTOR!" and questions, "SO THEN... HE WENT TO GO FIGHT EVEN WITH HIS INJURIES!I" A final dramatic close-up shows one giant roaring, "THEIR FIGHT CAN'T POSSIBLY END IN THIS WAY!"

Massive impact lines and speed lines fill the page as Dorry's massive sword clashes against Brogy's weapon in a blinding strike. Brogy growls through gritted teeth, "NONSENSE... I'M FINE AS ALWAYS...!" while swinging. Dorry presses the attack, shouting, "YOU SEEM TO BE WINCING IN PAIN!" and demands, "WHAT'S WRONG, DORRY!I" Huge onomatopoeia "ドンッ" and "ガキィ" explode across the panels with each sword strike, showing the giants locked in their brutal, evenly matched duel.

A bespectacled man with a curled hairstyle leans in with a sly grin and offers, "WHY DON'T I LEND A HELPING HANDI" Nearby narration notes, "QUITE THE STUBBORN ONE, AREN'T YOU, DORRY THE BLUE OGREI" Dorry's eye widens in surprise with a sharp "AH...!" and "!!I" as a black projectile streaks past. In the next instant Brogy lunges forward with a powerful swing, bellowing, "THE BATTLE IS MINE NOW, DORRY!" while Dorry is sent reeling amid massive impact effects and flying debris.
