A Deep Mythology Unveiled

Massive chains whip through the air amid smoke and debris. A voice mutters "HUFF..." repeatedly. Narration reads "THE AFTERMATH OF LOKI'S DEFIANCE...". Two cloaked figures stand amid rubble as a giant chained beast looms overhead. One figure says, "DID YOU REALLY THINK I'D JUST WRITE THAT OFF AS A COINCIDENCE...I! HUFF." The other replies, "...YOU'RE THE SPITTING IMAGE OF RED-HAIRED SHANKS." A close-up shows a bandaged man in a Marine cap declaring, "THAT MATTER HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU..." while the cloaked man answers, "MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS...".

In a snowy mountainous landscape, a cloaked figure stands before a long-haired man. Dialogue continues: "ANYONE WOULD FIND IT STRANGE THAT YOU TWO SHARE THE SAME FACE..." "THEY'RE POLAR OPPOSITES. A GREAT PIRATE AND A CELESTIAL DRAGON..." "YOU'RE NOT WRONG... BUT... HUFF..." "YOU CAN'T BLAME ME FOR BEING CURIOUS." The long-haired man explains, "AT ONE POINT, HE DID RETURN TO THE HOLY LAND. BUT IT SEEMS HE GREW TOO ATTACHED TO THE FILTHY WORLD OF THE SURFACE... THE PIRATE YOU'RE REFERRING TO IS MY YOUNGER TWIN... HE WENT ASTRAY." The cloaked figure growls, "YOU BASTARDS... HUFF... WHEN I GET OUT OF THESE CHAINS..." while thinking, "HE RETURNEDI HUFF... I SEE. IT'S FUNNY HOW I ENDED UP HATING BOTH OF YOU BROTHERS. AND I THOUGHT MY GRUDGE COULDN'T GET ANY WORSE...!! WHAT A FAMILY...".

Explosions and debris fill the air as a massive creature crashes down. A cloaked swordsman declares, "I'LL MAKE IT MY MISSION......TO MAKE SURE MY BUDDIES ARE AVENGED!!" while the beast groans "HAA...". An opponent retorts, "YOU KNOW WHAT I'LL DO, RIGHTI! HUFF...". The swordsman slashes, stating, "HE ISN'T WORTH GETTING MY HANDS DIRTY OVER." Nearby allies react: "I KNOW." "CAPTAIN, YOU DON'T HAVE TO--" "WAS THAT SUPPOSED TO BE A THREAT...I" The beast transforms or summons a three-headed dog that snarls "GRRWL!!" "WOOF!!" as the swordsman recognizes it: "CERBERUSI" A voice questions, "ISN'T THAT RIGHT." Sound effects include "ヒュオオオ...", "スラッ...", "GRAWW!!", and "ドドド...".

A massive three-headed beast labeled CERBERUS charges with explosive force, jaws wide as it roars "RAFF!!", "GRRRWL!!", "AWHOO!!", and "RAFF!!". Smoke and debris fly while a cloaked swordsman stands ready with blade drawn in the distance. In close-up, a scarred man with braided hair glares forward and states, "IT'S MY BITING BLADE." The creature lunges and bites with sharp "SHNK" and "ZZ" sound effects. A wide-hatted man with long hair reacts in alarm, shouting "WHAT THE HELL IS THATI!" as the beast's fangs snap inches from him.

Nearby panels show the scarred man reacting "HUHI!" as the beast snaps again with "GYURURU!!" and "GURURURU!!" effects. The cloaked swordsman calls out "SCRAMBLE." From the side, a voice urges, "CAPTAIN, LET'S CLEAN UP HERE... AND MOVE ON..."

Explosive impact erupts as Cerberus is hurled backward amid "DO DO" and "RUFF!!" effects, water and debris spraying everywhere. The wide-hatted man shouts "HOP..." while leaping aside. The cloaked swordsman commands "HEEL." and "SSCHLUP". In the lower panel the scarred man yells "HEY!! HEY!!" as the cloaked figure stands over the downed beast and declares, "FEEL FREE TO HUNT ME DOWN ANY TIME... I'LL FACE YOU THEN... ASSUMING YOU SURVIVE THIS."

Cerberus is slammed into the ground with tremendous "DO DO" and "KYUIN" impacts, chains and rubble flying. The cloaked swordsman growls "DAMN IT ALL!!" while the wide-hatted man snarls "THOSE CELESTIAL BASTARDS!!" and "YOU'VE GOTTA BE KIDDING ME..." The beast struggles with "RUFF!!" and "GRRIIII!!" sounds. In a separate panel the scarred man speaks into a transponder snail: "UNDERSTOOD. WHO SHALL I CALLI" A voice replies, "WE'LL NEED AN EXTRA PERSON... LET'S START BY TAKING THEIR CHILDREN HOSTAGE... TOTAL SUBJUGATION ISN'T FEASIBLE NOW." The wide-hatted man finishes, "NO WAY...! IF THAT THING GETS ME--!!"

At the towering stone gates of Quest Castle in Elbaf, a horned warrior shouts, "SHANKS WOULD NEVER ATTACK ELBAF FOR NO REASON!!" Another voice immediately retorts, "LIAR!!" In nearby panels, voices debate the sighting: "IT WAS RED-HAIRED—" "I'M TELLING YOU..." The castle looms amid clouds and trees. Below, the horned warrior continues, "HE JUST LEFT ELBAF RECENTLY, RIGHTI IT WAS SHOCKING; WE WERE WONDERING WHAT HE WAS DOING IN THE CASTLE... WOULDN'T IT BE WEIRD FOR HIM TO COME RIGHT BACK JUST TO SKULK AROUNDI" Others insist, "BUT I KNOW SHANKS! HE'S A SUPER COOL GUY! MAYBE IT WAS JUST SOMEONE WHO LOOKED LIKE HIM!" and "RED HAIR HAS VISITED ELBAF MANY TIMES... I RECOGNIZED HIM! IT'S THE TRUTH. I SAW HIM WITH MY OWN EYES." At the bottom, Nami smiles and asks, "HEE... YOU REALLY HAVE FAITH IN HIM, HUHI" Luffy stares in wide-eyed shock as a voice states, "HIM DOING SOMETHING LIKE THIS JUST DOESN'T ADD UP!" and another concludes, "SHANKS IS ALWAYS CALM AND LAID-BACK! EVEN IF YOU'RE TELLING THE TRUTH, THERE'S NO WAY IT COULD BE SHANKS!!"

Inside the castle ruins, figures discuss the red-haired sighting. A voice wonders, "OR A BROTHER MAYBE... THAT... SO IT WAS A LOOK-ALIKEI" Another adds, "SHANKS' BROTHERI WELL, IF HE HAS ONE, HE'D PROBABLY BE A NICE GUY, TOO..." Nami stands with a sword, declaring, "IT'D TICK YOU OFF JUST AS MUCH IF SOMEONE BADMOUTHED TELL-MÈRE! IT'S BELL-MÈRE-SAN. YOU BETCHA, NAMI!" with cheering giants beside her. Further down the stone steps, voices continue, "THEIR WHOLE CREW... I FIGURE ROGER AND RAYLEIGH WERE HIS REAL FAMILY... EXCEPT FOR BUGGY!" Luffy reacts with wide eyes and an open mouth as narration reads, "I HEARD THAT HE WAS RAISED ON A PIRATE SHIP FROM WHEN HE WAS LITTLE... BUT HONESTLY... HE NEVER TALKED ABOUT HIS FAMILY." Small sound effects like "うぉー" and "STEP... STEP..." mark the movement.

High on a forested cliff overlooking a vast valley, a small circular image shows a surprised face exclaiming, "WOW! IT'S NOW DESIGNATED AS A CULTURAL HERITAGE SITE, THANKS TO ITS ENORMOUS HISTORICAL VALUE... SOME KIDS PROBABLY ETCHED RIGHT INTO THE BARK AND IT GOT FOSSILIZED. IT'S GRAFFITI FROM EONS AGO..." The horned elder reacts with surprise. She continues, "SHE'LL BE THRILLED! WE GOTTA SHOW ROBIN!" as the elder yells, "WAAA-I!" The mural reveals clashing figures and a small winged form. Voices note, "THEN THAT WOULD PLACE IT RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE VOID CENTURY!!!" and "BUT THIS KIND OF COOPERATION IS UNHEARD OF...! THERE WERE DEFINITELY TIMES WHERE THE RACES OF THE WORLD CLASHED... QUITE. AS FAR AS WE KNOW..." The elder stares and says, "HEE... AIN'T THIS DRAWING KINDA ODD FOR OLD ELBAFI NOT ALL THE FIGURES LOOK LIKE GIANTS..."

A close-up shows a woman with long wavy hair and a scar over her left eye smiling as she speaks. "...IT WAS PROBABLY JUST SOME KID'S DREAM," she says, followed by "THAT'S WHY I THINK..." In the next tier, the scene shifts to the Walrus School where a bearded man in a top hat laughs "KYA HA HA HA HA!" while a horned figure in a helmet shouts "CLASS IS IN SESSION EVERYONE, LISTEN UP." Children react with excitement as "WAAH!!" and "KYAAH!!" echo around the tree-like building labeled "WALRUS SCHOOL." Below, inside the Owl Library, the same bearded man holds up a massive ancient tome, declaring "THIS PRETTY TOME HERE PRESERVED MANY OF THE RICH MYTHS AND LEGENDS OF ELBAF!" He adds, "ALTHOUGH, IT SPAWNED COUNTLESS INTERPRETATIONS, TOO," coughing "KOFFF! KOFFF!" amid "GIANT DUST!!" and "BWAH!!" A young girl with dark hair exclaims "WOAH! IT'S SO BIG. AND OLD!" while another voice confirms "YEP!!" The woman concludes, "SO THIS IS THE HARLEY..." as the library sign "OWL LIBRARY" is visible.

The woman asks, "...MAY I READ ITI" while the bearded man reacts with "AIN'T THAT THE FUNNIEST THING YA EVER HEARDI!" and "GYAAH HA!!" as the children cheer wildly. She continues, "...VERY DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF THE SUN GOD!" and "ALL THE WARRIORS OF ELBAF BELIEVE IN... THAT'S WHY..." The narrative explains that legends of Nika have spread silently, with the third world referring to the present day as a type of prophecy. The only common element is that he appears with a booming laugh. The bearded man reads aloud from the Harley: "THE EARTH BURNED IN ENDLESS FLAME..." "—THE FIRST WORLD..." "AND THE HEARTS OF MEN..." while the woman smiles and says she will read the next part. Musical notes and "DON DO TO TO♪" play as he laughs "AH HA HA HA!!"

Three massive open pages of the Harley display the prophecy of the three worlds. The left page reads: "THE THIRD WORLD CHAOS REIGNS; THE WORLD DRIFTS IN A VOID. YET TIME DOES NOT ERASE THE MEMORY OF THE PROMISED DAY. ITS SHADOW LOOMS AS THE VOICE OF THE HALF MOON ECHOES THROUGH THE AGES, AND ONCE MORE, THE SUN GOD SHALL RISE—LAUGHING, DANCING. GUIDING THE WORLD TO ITS FINAL ACT. THE SUN IS REBORN. A NEW DAWN WILL BREAK. SURELY, THIS TIME, THEY WILL MEET." The center page states: "THE SECOND WORLD A BREATH STIRRED IN THE ABYSS. THE GOD OF THE FOREST WOVE THEIR MAGIC, NURTURING ITS DEVILS. WHILE THE SUN LIT THE EMBERS OF WAR, THOSE OF THE HALF-CRESCENT AND FULL MOONS DREAMED. YET THE ONES WHO SLEW THE SUN DEIFIED THEMSELVES, EVOKING THE WRATH OF THE SEA GOD. THEY WOULD NOT MEET AGAIN." The right page reads: "THE FIRST WORLD THE EARTH BURNED IN ENDLESS FLAME, AND IN THE HEARTS OF MEN BURNED WITH DESIRE.
